Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: We loved Andermatt as soon as we saw it, particularly the Old Village with its cobbled streets and wooden houses. Since we first arrived, there have been countless positive changes with a new Chedi hotel recently opened and new ski lifts and restaurants to follow in 2015/6 (making it the biggest ski area in central Switzerland), yet the Old Village retains its charm. We love coming here all the year round - hiking in summer and autumn, skiing in winter, it is our home from home.

Why the Owner Chose Andermatt, Switzerland:
You could not find a better location than Holzgasse, situated right in the middle of Old Andermatt. Nowadays there are new properties being offered in Batz, near Andermatt, but nowhere near the epicentre. From us, you can walk to the shops, walk to the ski lift, walk to all of the town's restaurants, and even ski in from the Talabfahrt run.
