Stunning Sea Views and 10 minutes walk to Caribbean beach

Bedrooms 4
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Villa, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps up to 7)

Date House is a 10 minute walk from the beach and restaurants at the exclusive Calabash Cove hotel and spa and a 10 minute drive to the beaches, shopping, restaurants and bars at Rodney Bay. The villa and 30' pool are very secluded, sitting in beautifully landscaped tropical gardens with Caribbean sea views and plenty of terraces for relaxing and al-fresco dining. The pool and terraces are well lit at night so continue the fun with cocktails and an evening swim after dark.

Date House is entered through automatic gates and then up a sweeping drive to the front door. As you enter the front door the breathtaking Caribbean sea is before you, through the balcony doors opposite.

The fully fenced tropical gardens contain a large private pool (30ft by 15 ft) with plenty of space to relax on the loungers in the tropical sun. The rest of the landscaped gardens contain tropical flowers, shrubs and fruit trees. Visitors are welcome to enjoy fruits such as mango, grapefruit, bananas, plantain, lime and golden apple when in season.

The villa can sleep 7 people comfortably in four air-conditioned bedrooms. The three double bedrooms all have balconies. The master bedroom on the top floor has a panoramic view of the Caribbean sea plus views of the beach at Windjammer Hotel.

The villa enjoys a spacious living area furnished in the Caribbean style, with an open plan sitting room, adjoining dining area and large well equipped kitchen with separate laundry room. All the living areas are cooled with ceiling fans.

There is a covered and uncovered front patio area for relaxing and al fresco dining, where guests can enjoy the wonderful sea views. There is also a small gazebo poolside for extra protection from the sun and a handy additional bathroom and toilet at pool level.

To enhance the enjoyment of your vacation the house has a housekeeper (Monday to Saturday from 9am to 3pm) who will also cook your meals if required and prepare fabulous local juice from the home grown fruit. The property is also managed by a very experienced local company who can organise airport transfers, self-drive car hire, sightseeing tours, starter food packs and generally make sure your trip is hassle free.

Come and sit round the pool and watch the humming birds on the bouganvillias or look at the boats sailing past in the sunshine - but most importantly relax!!

The house enjoys the additional security of a monitored burglar alarm for peace of mind. Additional photos of the house are available on request

Great Stay at Date House Villa

  • 4 of 5

I would certainly recommend this villa on St. Lucia. Robert (the owner) was very helpful with information regarding the house, transportation and area restaurants and sites. The rental company, Tropical Villas, was only a phone call away for any questions or issues. Illtyd, our representative helped us to book an all-day catamaran tour to the Pitons, which was so enjoyable and really worth the money. She found a trip for us that didn't have too many already booked, and it made for a very enjoyable day. Anne Marie, the housekeeper, is a jewel. She does an excellent job keeping the house clean, giving us advise about the island, and even cooked a meal for us. She took us to the market the next day after arrival to help with directions and items in the grocery store. Illtyd stopped by the next day after arrival to fill us in even more with helpful information and answer any questions we had.

The Villa is fenced end, has bars on the windows and has an alarm system, so we felt totally secure. The road to the villa is very rough and hard to find in the dark. We wanted to rent a car from the airport because we like to be able to go when we want, but it was very helpful that we downloaded a GPS map of St Lucia on our Garmin to find roads that aren't marked. The only problem with that is that the GPS took the old road up the mountain and down to Casteries, which wasn't pleasant. If I had it to do over, I might take the transfer they offer from the airport to the villa and let them bring the car to the house. A lot less stress.

We enjoyed driving to Pigeon Island and walking/hiking up to the top of the fort and looking out over the north part of St. Lucia. There are beaches below to snorkel or swim. Rediut Beach was too crowded for our taste, but we did eat at Spinnakers on the beach. We went several times to the beach at the resort down the road (Calabash Cove) and paid them to use chairs, a hut for shelter, facilities and pool, if you choose. They have a restaurant and bar in case you need something to drink or get hungry. We took our own sandwiches, chips, and water and made a day of it. The beach is very private and the ocean was clear and enjoyable.

The restaurants we enjoyed the most were Big Chef Steakhouse, Matthews at Rodney Bay Mall, Dragon Fly at Windjammer Resort, Pink Papaya in Casteries at Point Seraphine (where the cruise ships come in), Memories of Hong Kong, Calabash Cove, and Buzz Seafood -- in that order.

So very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate to have a glorious two weeks in St. Lucia and at the Date House. We arrived after dark, and were very glad we had professional taxi driver to take us there. We would not have been able to find the house as there are no street signs like at home. It is such a quiet neigbourhood and we felt very safe and secure there. Illtyd from Tropical Villas was fantastic and had lots of information for us (but we had already been to St. Lucia several times and new what was there to do). Anne Marie is a great lady, always very helpful and kind. She had a fantastic meal waiting for us when we arrived. Thomas the gardener picked us some coconuts and showed us how to cut them open (oh so tasty!). Terry, Dezi, Andy and Glenn were the cab drivers we used (we did not rent a car), and they we very professional and helpful too. The house itself was great, we were so very relaxed, and we would recommend the Date House to those looking for the quiet vacation (we were probably the loudest residents in the evenings!) We did walk out the the market a couple of times (the main road is quiet busy, but we felt safe enough) and a day at Calabash Beach was an easy walk if you don't mind hills. Cab trip to Rodney Bay was quick and great for shopping too.

We had a very nice experience in the Date house during x-mas and following 11days.

Location was fantastic , calm, safe and beautiful. The house was well equipped and space full.

10 min walk from the house you find a nice beach and a lovely restaurant we can recommend for both lunch and "sundowners".

Anne-Marie the housekeeper was verry helpful and assisted our shopping.

The owner gave us a lot Of information about restaurants, interesting places to visite etc.

A memorable holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in St Lucia, the villa was fabulous with a wonderful pool, stunning views and awesome sunsets. Anne-Marie was a delight, so warm and friendly and kept the villa spotlessly clean, she also makes a mean rum punch! The island is beautiful and the beaches sublime. Booking was effortless and the owner very informative, would highly recommend.

My wife, I and my 7 months old son spent a wonderful two weeks at this lovely villa. From the outset, the owner, Robert, was extremely responsive, helpful and informative providing us reassurance not only at the time of booking but also just before flying to St Lucia. The property is spacious, extremely clean and the pool was wonderful. The management company was outstanding; everything was available on arrival and even though our flight was over 3 hours late, they liaised with the car rental company and Anne-Marie to ensure everything was smooth. Anne-Marie, the housekeeper, was fantastic and looked after us so well including having a meal ready for our arrival and most days during our stay. She was very caring towards our son and even baby sat for him; he loved her!! You do need a car - but that added to the fun and its an easy island to get around. Overall a wonderful experience - thank you to all!!
