This five bedroom log home is nicely handcrafted from 10" diameter Alaskan spruce logs. It has a cozy, in the wilderness feel, with large picture windows over looking Kachemak Bay. A center wood stove provides warmth and blends nicely with the surrounding hand carved notches and beams. The kitchen is large and accommodating.

The dining, living room area has many Alaskan books and games, and two couches to enjoy the glacier and mountain views. The large deck is available from the kitchen and dining room area and adds a fresh air, open view with table and gas bar-b-cue.

The upstairs has three bedrooms, one king, one double, and one with two single beds,

A full bath with double sink. The computer room is also on this top level and has Wi-Fi. There is a lovely hand made log queen bed on the main floor with the living area. It has a half bath. Downstairs there is another bedroom with a queen bed, view, and full bath with Jacuzzi. The down stairs level also has the TV room, pool table, and laundry facilities.

The yard has a fire pit in the center of a large lawn, with stumps to sit on while you watch the boats in the bay and the changing colors of the snowy mountains and glaciers tucked in the mountains across the bay. There is a tiny tree house with netting

all around for safety.

The owner of this property is a long time Alaskan and skilled at many things.

He built the log home. Ridgley spends his summer commercial fishing in a

remote area on the Alaskan Peninsula. He has fished for 40 years in and around


His other passion is skiing.

What makes this house unique

This house has an interesting and well built artistic look. Every detail is toward beauty

and functionality. There is a nice collection of games and Alaskan books for you to

enjoy. The large yard is fun for kids of all ages.

This home was so great, and easily accommodated our large group of family members.

The kitchen is well stocked with an island in the middle.

Our family had a nice yard and porch to enjoy and the incredible view

of the Homer spit and glacier was enjoyed from just about every room.

It has a good feeling and is natural gathering place. The log work is exquisitely

done by the owner. very clean and comfortable.

We hope to come back and catch more fish! Have more bar-b-que time on

that porch!

Stier's House

My extended family and I stayed in the Stier's house during our time in Homer. There was plenty of room for everyone, a full kitchen, and a yard for the kids to play in. With a log cabin feel (but much bigger) and incredible views, privacy, and everything we needed on site, this property is tough to beat. Would definitely rent again if we make it back to Alaska - Eileen and Connie were very helpful before and during our stay. I'd highly recommend staying with them.
