Comfortable cottage with all of the anemities and boat tie-up, eas access to the lake.
Owners were very accommodating. I have booked through VRBO before with no problem but found it to be somewhat of a frustrating challenge to finalize the transaction
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this quaint and cozy little cottage on the lake. It provided all that we needed to make our vacation a beautiful memory. The accomodations, the view, the location, were all perfect for the three of us. We would gladly return.
Great 4th of July
This cottage exceeded our expectations with the awesome lake view, cleanliness, excellent location and very gracious hosts. Spent the 4th around the campfire with awesome fireworks with the owners. This happens to be the same cottage my husband stayed in as a child. It has everything you may want with homey touches, anything you may need in the kitchen and even a washer & dryer. Very relaxing vacation and can't wait to book again for next year, thanks Ron & Ellie!
Great Bemis Point Cottage
My sister and I have rented this cottage for 4 years. We tried another house down the street and found this house to be far superior. We love everything about it. It's very clean and is furnished with everything you would need. Everything is in good condition including the appliances and kitchen supplies. There are a number of ceiling fans which keep the rooms cool. We love the deck and spend much of our time there. The water is treated and doesn't have that strong sulfur smell which is a big plus! The yard is well kept and good size. We don't have a boat but the dock is in good condition also. Ron is a great owner and goes out of his way to provide whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable. I'm sure we will continue renting next summer and for many summers to come.
We really like so much about Chautauqua so it's so nice that others do too. We've been told by some renters that our cottage is the best on the lake. It's nice to know that renters appreciate the work we've done to provide a homey comfortable cottage.
Great vacation option and location
Beverly and spent a lovely week at the cottage (Summer 2009) and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The cottage provided all the needed amenities (except internet access which for us was a big minus and easily correctable). Ron and Eleanor were great hosts and were available whenever needed. We loved quirky Beamus Point (Labor Day weekend) and the other nearby villages. Unfortunately, we "discovered" the Chautauqua Institution too late in our visit to take advantage of the events there. We also didn't utilize the lake - dock was a bit too narrow and rickety for me - but we could easily have rented a boat nearby. These are things we will do during our next visit. We highly recommend the cottage especially for those wanting to "de-compress" in an affordable, most comfortable, and enjoyable setting.
Great sightseeing and history, so close to Pittsburgh.
A wonderful vacation sight, excellent cottage, clean and nicely decorated. The owners are very helpful and delightful to meet. Loved waking in the morning to look out the window and see the lake and boats. In walking distance, is Bemus Point with shopping, dining and live entertainment at no cost. We love the lake and boating on Chataqua, except the lake is very shallow until you are out 20 feet or more. You cannot swim or let the children play in the water at the cottage due to seaweed. Chataqua is a truly beautiful resort area, and we recommend it highly.
Many guests and their children have swam off the dock their entire vacation. There are two water access ladders off the dock. Water is five feet deep at the end of the dock.
