Our guest comments speak volumes about one of the most popular offerings at Kicking Horse! We pride ourselves on offering a fully stocked home away from home :-)
This home has appeal for a wide range of travelers...
Perfect Weekend Getaway!
Great for a long and luxurious vacation!
The only true ski-in/ski-out resort in the Rockies!
Rated one of the 'Top 5' downhill mountain bike parks in the world!
Epic paragliding opportunities!
Surrounded by six pristine National parks, and sitting at the confluence of two magnificent rivers, Kicking Horse Resort is the perfect summer or winter getaway.
In the winter, Kicking Horse resort is famous for its champagne powder, breathtaking alpine bowls, and all the steeps, chutes, cliffs and couloirs you can handle. With the Purcell, Selkirk and Rocky mountain ranges all converging at Golden, it is no wonder many hardcore freeriders think the region is home to the best skiing in Canada! Heli- and cat-skiing options are plentiful, and for those individuals who like to 'earn their turns' there are literally limitless possibilities. Local-area guides are some of the best in the world, and backcountry touring trips can be crafted to meet any level of skier. Ask us to help you choose the right guide.
For the Nordic skier, there is an extensive network of trails in the area and a gorgeous lodge from which to set out on day trips.
Meanwhile, the backcountry surrounding Kicking Horse is a sledders (aka: snowmobilers) dream due to the beautiful scenery, diversity of terrain, amazing snow and convenient location. The Town of Golden even got a nod from the 'Snoriders Choice Awards' as one of the best places for powder and scenery in Canada!
In the summer, the resort offers incredible downhill and cross-country mountain biking (in fact, the downhill park was recently rated 'Top 5' in the world by 'World Bike Parks Group'!), hiking, sight-seeing, golfing and more. Local suppliers will take you whitewater rafting, four-wheeling or fly-fishing on the Kicking Horse or Columbia River. The area is also a highly sought after spot for paragliding, due to the high altitude, thermic updraft potentials and incredible mountain scenery to explore. A true mecca for free flying!
If you simply want to relax and enjoy the scenery, you can wander through alpine meadows carpeted with wildflowers, or take advantage of the comfortable gondola ride to the top of Kicking Horse and discover Canada's most talked about culinary experience and the crown jewel of resort dining - Eagle Eye Restaurant. If bird or beast watching is more your speed, visit the grizzly bear refuge or take a guided hiking tour of the mountain.
Or, consult the Kicking Horse resort website for details under ''Things to Do'' for more information (or ask us).
Our unit provides you with the ultimate in comfort, including: two queen size beds (one with a bunk bed on top fit for one child), a sectional couch, fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and all linens/towels are provided. There is high-definition satellite TV in the living room, surround sound and unlimited WiFi. The large patio has a couple of Adirondack chairs, a 6-piece dining set and a propane-fueled BBQ. This family friendly condo has incredible views of the mountain and the valley, and is the perfect place to relax after a day on the mountain.
All rentals are carefully scheduled in advance; therefore, no partial refunds will be made for late arrivals or early departures. Purchase of trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended as all monies received are non-refundable. At a cost of 2-5% of the total cost of your trip, it is an added peace of mind. There are several reputable providers in Canada (such as HSBC, RBC, CIBC, TD or Travel Underwriters Canada) and globally (such as Allianz Global Assistance) which offer this service.
Please note rental agreements are only confirmed once the initial (50% of total) payment is received. The remaining 50% balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. If scheduling your trip within 45 days of arrival, all funds are due at once.
Whether you are looking for adventure and excitement, or rest and relaxation, this condo/chalet is for you!
We offer the option to pay by Visa, Mastercard or Discovery. Credit card payment is the most secure form of payment option offered on VRBO.
