About Jonathan Rick
Hello, I'm a 65 year old snowbird spending 6 months in Ft. Lauderdale & traveling and 6 months in the Berkshires. I love South Egremont. Lots of beauty and really close to everything. I love to cook so my kitchen is well outfitted. I also will cater meals if you like. If you like to walk or hike this is the place for you and yet we are very close to Great Barrington. The view from this property is outstanding and setting is magical! Jonathan
Jonathan Rick purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Jonathan Rick chose South Egremont
I have lived in the Berkshires since 1973 and before that I grew up in Sharon, CT just over the border line into CT. I love this area the natural beauty and the amazing amount of attractions available here.

Perfect quick getaway to a charming space
The cabin is accurately represented by the description and photographs. Lovely, charming, quiet space. Very efficient, functional and attractive kitchen, stocked with all utensils and equipment needed to cook a meal for 4 or more. Comfortable, warm, cozy living room space with plenty of light in daytime. Equipped with TV and stereo for pleasant distractions but, with all that going on in Great Barrington and environs, cannot say we found much time to just hang out in the cabin. Took a long weekend in fall but would take a longer, week- long stay to take full advantage of the property, to sit and take in marvelous mountain views from the screened in porch and outdoor chairs perched near outdoor fire-pit. Bedrooms work fine with comfortable beds, attractive wall hangings and fine bedside lighting. Bathroom shower delivered excellent hot showers on demand. Owner was generous with his time and friendly and helped make the experience smooth and easy. Would I return? Definitely!
Thanks for your kind words, glad you had a good stay, I look forward to your return... Jonathan
As pictured! Peace and quiet as hoped for.
Weather was a bit rainy but got in some antique viewing, hiked Monument Mountain! And really loved local restaurants such as Old Mill and John Andrews. Fall foliage just beginning added to the terrific mountain views.
Thanks, I hope you return again! Jonathan
Cute, well equipped cabin with gorgeous views
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is so quiet and private. Sitting on the screened porch while it rained was just so peaceful. The cabin was will equipped and we had everything we needed. We had unusually cold weather and the heat did not work but Jonathan responded promptly and made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Thanks for your kind words, I hope you return soon, sorry about the heat, I am installing 3 new gas heaters one in each bedroom one in the living room tomorrow. Thanks again, Jonathan
Well appointed cabin in a picturesque setting w great views
Cabin is well cared for inside and out and has ample guest amenities. Nicely furnished with interesting and eclectic pieces. Great outdoor area with chairs and fire pit for relaxing and taking in nature and the surroundings. As one of the previous guests commented, this is a property where the pictures do not do full justice - the setting and views exceed the impression given by the pictures.
Thanks so much! Hope you return for another visit.... Jonathan
Beautiful cabin in the Berkshires
A wonderful week at a very comfortable and well equipped log cabin.
Beautiful location high on a hill with fantastic views. Owner was easily reachable if we had a question.
Screened in porch was a special place to enjoy our time there. Living room area very comfortable with a good working fireplace and a satellite TV . Features were a brand new Weber Grill and excellent appliances in the kitchen
All in All a great experiece.
Thanks so much for your kind words please come again, Jonathan
peace and tranquillity
within a few days after returning to Philadelphia I wanted nothing more than to return to this special place. waking at night (which I often do at home) turned out to be a gift . the black sky with thousands of stars seen from the screened porch and the sound of stillness was so special.
the cabin is casual and extremely comfortable and equipped with everything one would need for meal preps.
the drive to great barrington is quick and affords one the beautiful views on the way.
my tw0 teenage granddaughters shared this stay with me and loved it. and when teenagers are content to explore their surroundings and relax with a book on the porch at night, one could not ask for anything else.
Thanks so much for your review, please come again, Jonathan Rick
