About Jonathan Rick

Hello, I'm a 65 year old snowbird spending 6 months in Ft. Lauderdale & traveling and 6 months in the Berkshires. I love South Egremont. Lots of beauty and really close to everything. I love to cook so my kitchen is well outfitted. I also will cater meals if you like. If you like to walk or hike this is the place for you and yet we are very close to Great Barrington. The view from this property is outstanding and setting is magical!

Iconic Berkshire experience

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I found this cabin to be even better than the accurate description in the listing. Yes, the cabin is vintage-but-updated with a great view and location. But it is also a space, inside and out, with the perfect ambience for a visitor who seeks comfort and beauty in the midst of glorious hills and woods. We weren't here to cook, but the kitchen is one where good cooking happens, so chefs will love it. The screen porch was our hangout when at home; probably the stone fireplace would be the centerpiece in winter. Jonathan is a thoughtful and skillful host. We recommend it most enthusiastically!

Great site!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time in the Berkshires, and enjoyed the house very much. What we did not appreciate was dealing with the VRBO site, and its information, insistence on an insurance payment, and other barriers / add-ons when completing the reservation.

No complaints at all with the property. However, I really did not like what seemed to be optional, but were in fact required. When more personal data was requested, there I draw the line. Next time I would not use VRBO.

Well appointed log cabin with great views

  • 5 of 5

This restored log cabin is well located in the Berkshires. The cabin is in a quiet wooded area and has amazing mountain views. The lawn (pictured) has Adirondack chairs for sitting and taking in the scenery, the mountain air, and, at night, the stars. The cabin is nicely decorated and well appointed. Overall this property exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful oasis

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Jonathan's cabin. Peaceful, beautiful, clean and well-appointed are all words I would use. We especially appreciated the quality coffee maker and variety of implements in the kitchen! Not to mention the screened-in porch, perfect for napping. Thanks, Jonathan, for a great stay!

RETURN VISIT

  • 5 of 5

Two years in a row and now has become my favorite refuge in the Berkshires! There is nothing negative to say and everything positive. If we ever have a "space force" we'll be able to view it in the sky from the wonderful screened -in porch! Thank you, John for offering this beautiful haven.
