Perfect location to explore the Cape!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was cute in the pictures but even better in real life! It was well equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. And we loved sitting on the back patio enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! The location was perfect for exploring the Cape and it was a quick 5 minute walk to downtown but still remote enough to be quiet and peaceful! We'll definitely be back!

Rare find - cozy cottage with linens provided in the home, and a well-equipped kitchen

  • 5 of 5

So many Cape rentals require you to bring your own linens, or rent from a third party. This home has good quality linens, and all you need to do is get up early enough on check-out morning to wash, dry and fold. The washing machine and dryer are new and work well (just don't trust the "minutes remaining" display on the dryer as it sometimes resets itself part way through). As a guide: for our party using only two of the beds, we needed to get up by about 7:00 a.m. to launder and dry all sheets and towels in time for a 10:00 a.m. check-out (allowing time for morning showers as well). Everything in the house was very clean and comfortable, and the location can't be beat - walking distance to downtown, to Chase Park with its historic windmill and recently-added labyrinth, and to the little beach at Oyster Pond. We visited in September as the remains of a tropical storm lingered over Chatham, and can vouch for how quiet, dry and warm the home was during crummy weather. (There are extra blankets available in a large trunk at the head of the stairs.) One note for anyone with limited mobility: the shower is in the upstairs bathroom, and is positioned over a soaking tub, so there is a high side of the tub to swing your leg over in order to get in and out of the shower. There is a very cute back patio with grill and sitting area, which feels private because of fencing and a hedge separating it from the neighbors - looks like it would be very relaxing in better weather. The homeowner was great to work with, the rental process was easy and the security deposit was returned very quickly.

Perfect cottage close to everything in Chatham

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely wonderful experience. Sue is a fantastic hostess - very responsive and accommodating. Could not have asked for anything better. We stayed with a 2 year old and a 2 month old baby and the house was perfect. We walked to town, the park, the Chatham As, Chatham Band and Oyster Pond with the 2 of them - some days without a stroller. Pack and play fit in the master bedroom easily. All around this was a great stay and we will be back.

Staying at the cottage with a toddler

  • 5 of 5

I wrote a review last year about staying at the cottage with a baby, but this year, we had a toddler on our hands! A quick recap - the cottage is fantastic. It is cozy, clean, well appointed, and has a few modern luxuries that make it a great home base in Chatham. The owners completely renovated the back patio area and installed a new outdoor shower - it looks wonderful out there and feels more functional. We sat out back often and our almost 2 year old poked around with the beach toys in the shed.

A few things to note if you are going with a toddler:

(1) when you get to the cottage, just grab the few cleaning products from under the sink and place on top of the fridge, and you are kid proofed - seriously, it is that easy.

(2) We used a rental service called Auntie Vi's to rent a crib and a high chair and when we arrived they were waiting for us on the front porch - so nice not to lug a pack and play through the airport. We had to get a little creative to get the crib to fit in the upstairs bedroom, but with a few simple moves, it worked beautifully.

(3) There are books for bedtime at the cottage, so no need to lug them with you

(4) You can log into your own Netflix account through the smart TV in the living room. This was a life saver in the morning when we were getting ready for the day, our kid could watch Curious George (or whatever your kid is into) on Netflix. At night, we could catch up on House of Cards.

(5) Beach toys are in good shape and there is a wagon in the shed if you want to drag that to Oyster pond. We just stuffed them in the stroller basket and off we went.

(6) Sometimes things break in a house. We had an issue where the air conditioner wasn't working properly...not a big deal. I shot an email off to the owner and mentioned it, and we went out to the ball game. When we returned, someone had been out to the house and it was fixed. It was more than we could have asked for in terms of being responsive.

See you again next year, Chatham!

Charming cottage, great location

  • 5 of 5

Had a great week at this charming, comfortable cottage! The home was clean, beautifully furnished, well organized, and the kitchen amply supplied. Sue, the owner, was helpful and accessible for questions. Located on a quiet and pretty side street, it's an easy walk to town with lots of shops and dining choices and to local beaches. It's also a convenient launching pad for drives to Hyannis to catch the ferry to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard or to other local picturesque towns for exploring. It's hard to imagine a better place to stay in lovely Chatham MA!

Chatham - Steps from Main Street.

The cottage has a great location in town, is well equipped and very comfortable. Our family enjoys walking to town for meals, shopping, coffee shops, band concerts, baseball games, playground and even my 3 year old is able to walk to two beaches and back. Chatham is a great place for exploring the rest of Cape Cod, we head out to Provincetown for dinner and whale watching, and to Dennis for antique shops.
