House, 6 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 13)
Our 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom house, less than 5 minutes away from Stratton Mountain, is perfect for hosting your group for a weekend getaway or an extended vacation in the mountains. The original house (built over 225 years ago) has recently been added to and updated to include a large state-of-the- art kitchen and other modern touches while retaining its old -Vermont charm. The kitchen, living room and family room provide enough space for your group to spend time together or just be alone while on vacation.
Head to the open kitchen with a large dining room table for breakfast before hitting the slopes. On returning from the mountain, enjoy cocktails and R&R in front of the fireplace before a relaxing dinner. If you like to cook, you will love the spacious set up and appliances (gas range, electric oven, large refrigerator and large separate freezer, outside gas grill, plenty of pots, pans, serving platters, counter top TV with DVD, etc.)
When it’s time to relax, there are options for everyone. The family room includes a 42” plasma TV, Bose surround sound system w/ DVD, iPod docking station, sound throughout the kitchen and living room, and wireless internet access. For those who enjoy a challenge, there are several 1,000 to 1,500 piece jigsaw puzzles. The living room includes a large wood burning fireplace and plenty of room to spread out on one of the couches or rocking chairs and get into a good book. On a nice day, spend time outside hanging out or grilling on the brick patio off the kitchen.
There is plenty to do nearby. In the winter, aside from skiing or boarding at Stratton or Bromley, you can snowshoe in the woods off the backyard, cross country ski, sled with the kids at the Stratton Golf School (1½ miles from the house) and much more. In the summer time, historic Pikes Falls, a natural waterfall and swimming hole, is right across the street. Additionally, the mountain offers a lot of activities including hiking and mountain biking. A 25 minute ride to Manchester, VT offers outlet shopping and many very good restaurants for families and adults alike.

Charming house with everything that you need, well laid out, minutes form Stratton mountain
I just returned from a 4-day stay at Rick's house, and I want to go back (do know, the house is much prettier than the photos show). The house is very well laid out. We had 6 adults and 6 children (3 families), and we all had plenty of space. We were able to convene in the kitchen/dining area (the table fit us all) and gather in cozy, but sizable, rooms. One room had a working fireplace, and that was a treat after a day of skiing at Stratton (which is an 8 minute drive away). Rick is a friendly guy who wants you to enjoy his place (and we did!). We will be back, Rick!
Charming traditional farm house with modern updates
We have been spending New Years Eve at either Mount Snow or Stratton for the past five years with two other families, and this was one of the best houses yet. It is tastefully decorated, and very charming and warm. There was plenty of room for all twelve of us, and the location was perfect: A very short drive to Stratton, and an easy drive to Manchester for anyone that isn't skiing. The kitchen was our favorite feature. It was well equipped, and great for preparing a meal together with friends. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived, and all of the beds were comfortable. The lighted skating pond was an added bonus! And the owner, Richard, was responsive, and even left us some champagne to ring in the New Year. We loved it.
Perfect Vermont get-away
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Vermont home! We have a big family and there was plenty of room for everyone. The fabulous kitchen was a focal point where we gathered to cook, hang out, and eat delicious meals. There were 2 large rooms to hang out - 1 had an enormous fireplace and the other a large tv, puzzles and games. The house is a quick drive to the base of Stratton mountain, but private enough that you are away from the crowds. The owner, Rick, was easy to deal with and available if needed. The house was clean and well-stocked. We will definitely stay here again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house to others for a perfect Vermont get-away.
Beautiful - roomy yet cozy and GREAT fireplace
Loved this house! About 7-8 minutes from mountain on back roads. Beautifully decorated with great large kitchen and two individual living rooms. Amazing fireplace sitting room that kept our group there all night relaxing and enjoying our apres ski. House has old world charm but updated amenities, wifi, bathrooms, etc.. Looking forward to another trip soon. Easily accomodated two families - total of ten. The two large living rooms also were great for when kids split from parents. Owner was attentive, but was not needed at all. House was clean and ready for us when promised.
Beautiful home - great location!
Thanks for a great week at this beautiful ski house! My family and our friends really enjoyed our stay here. There are plenty of bedrooms for everyone to spread out and enough linens, towels, pillows, etc for everyone. We loved the huge kitchen and spent most of our time there preparing and enjoying meals, and playing board games at the big farm table. Proximity to Stratton Mountain is great, just a few minutes drive. Owners were great to work with, we will definitely come again!
Perfect home for a big group! 5 STARS!
We LOVED our stay at this VRBO property and would recommend it to anyone with a big crew. Single family home that truly feels like a HOME, not a condo. 5-10 minutes away from Stratton, but feels like you are really getting away from all the hubbub. Great place to truly 'get away.'
Tons of beds and space to handle a large crew (we fit 10 and there was plenty of space for everyone, with linens, towels, etc all taken care of). Beautiful new kitchen is perfect for hanging out and making (and eating) big breakfasts and dinners. Living room has a great fireplace for relaxing after a long day (no TV in this room for those that want to disconnect a little). There's a separate room on the other side of the main floor with plenty of room to plop in front of a large flat screen TV and unwind (free wifi throughout, too). Did we spend a day lounging around the house because we were just too cozy to do anything else - you bet!
For the skiers and snowboarders in the group, super close and easy drive (5 -10 minutes) to Stratton Mountain, with Stowe, Bromley, and Killington all within about a half hour. For the shoppers, Manchester (and the outlets) are about a half hour away, too.
Owners were easy to work with and made everything easy to understand.
We would recommend this place to ANYONE.
