Far exceeded our expectations!!

I simply cannot express what a pleasure it was to stay at this property. This pictures on the listing do not do it justice... we were SO pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door at the gorgeous house and even more excited when we walked out into the backyard and took in the stunning view of the river and surrounding mountains (simply breathtaking). Everything was very clean, well organized, beautifully decorated, amazing open concept living room and kitchen area, and the atmosphere was incredibly calming. There were nearby markets and restaurant within a short 5 minute drive, though we had very little reason to leave this peaceful oasis. The yard had many games (badminton, corn hole, inner tubes for the heated pool) and the music throughout the house was the icing on the cake. I felt like a kid again and all the guests remarked what a rare and wonderful gem this place is. The only downside was for our guests who had planned to sleep on the screened-in porch as the freeway sounds were a bit too loud, but those of us inside could not hear them and they were not even noticeable when hanging out in the backyard. We are already trying to figure out how to get back for another visit next year.

We loved it!! Only downside was not having our dog and the sound from the freeway. Doesn't take long to settle in, listen to music in every room and forget the noise! This house is so clean, nicely designed and decorated! The kitchen has everything. The outside pool is amazing, underwater lights at night and watching stars was fantastic! Loved all the chairs, tables, pads it was like a resort. Beautiful landscape, watch birds fish above the river, butterflies, bees....I could go on and on...hope to go back some day, spoil yourselves and do it!

The perfect venue for a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We spent Thanksgiving at this rental and it was the perfect venue for our family. The open floor plan and large kitchen worked very well for inviting our family members to join us for dinner. The location is picturesque and even though the home is adjacent to Highway 299, it was very quiet. One morning while sipping coffee and looking out the window we saw two bald eagles in flight over the Trinity River. We cannot wait for another opportunity to rent this home, perhaps in the summer when we can take advantage of the great backyard, deck and pool area.

Magical Trinity River Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at many vrbo rentals in and out of California, and I can say that this is one of the best places that I have ever rented. I went there for a girl friends bachelorette party and it was perfect. The house was beautiful, organized, and very comfortable. The quality of layout and design was amazing, with such a perfect set up and such wonderful taste - it had everything we needed. The pool was a delight, with a stunning view overlooking the Trinity River. The trail to the river was well maintained and the private river access was a special treat.

It was so great that we stayed there the entire weekend (not leaving once), swimming in the pool, relaxing, drinking delicious cocktails, eating amazing food and spoiling our bride to be. This place has something for everyone. I plan on going back in the future with friends and family (as did many of the ladies). Highly recommended!

Trinity River Paradise - highly recommend

  • 5 of 5

Awesome! Stayed July 6 to 13th. Shared the home with another family, 7 total, 4 adults and 3 kids aging from 4 to 12yrs.

Inside has an open/modern floor plan, you never feel "cramped". Everything is comfortable, etc. The surround sound is great. Everything is clean and well maintained. Jack and Shore (the owners) are very responsive and answered all questions we had, which were few. We cooked 95% of our meals at the house and did all shopping at "Ray's Market" which is about 5 min down the road. Kitchen has just about everything you would need (we brought our own crock pot and panini maker). We did eat burgers/fries at Early Bird which is about 2 minutes down the road (they have Bigfoot burgers so you almost have to eat here just to check out the shape of those buns).

The outside is impressive. When at the house, we spent most of our time in the backyard which feels more like a little clearing in the middle of a forest. The pool is great (super clean), the ice machine in the laundry room is convenient, the outdoor furniture is plentiful and clean, the deck off the house is huge and perfect for eating/stargazing, etc. What was real convenient was the outdoor shower and trail down to the river. Note that the trail down to the river is probably not for everyone; e.g. if you have a bum knee or are elderly it's probably not for you, but no worries there are numerous easy ways to access the river up and down the 299 HWY.

Outside of the house we checked out numerous swim holes in the Trinity river. Big Rock is fun and so is Kimtu Beach (both about 5 to 10 minutes from the house). Also great was South Fork bridge area (about 2 miles east from the house off the 299). We rented a raft from Bigfoot Rafting and went solo down the Trinity from Hawkin's Bar to Salyer. Took 3 hours and was freaking great! If you go, bring a small ice-chest and minimal fishing gear (wish I would have). Plenty of safe spots to swim, jump off rocks, etc.Plenty of fishing holes and sandy beaches.Outside of Willow Creek, recommend checking out Trinidad & the Redwood forests, worth the drive!

Another big part of the trip was visiting Bluff Creek and checking out all things Bigfoot. The 2 men in our party drove to Bluff Creek and went 7 or 8 miles up the service road. Also checked out Aikens Creek. Amazing country, worth seeing. Peggy in the Bigfoot museum in Willow Creek is a kick to talk to. Met a Hoopa indian family and they shared numerous Bigfoot stories with us.

What a great trip!

our visit from the east

  • 5 of 5

My family and I traveled from the east to experience this paradise on the Trinity River. The house exceeded our expecations. Not only were the beds comfortable, the sheets and pillows felt heavenly. There are even organic products to wash with. We loved the outdoor shower too. The kitchen had everything and more to dine and entertain with. Surround sound music added to our enjoyment.

We relaxed the first few days by the pool and floated the big eddy on the river. Around we went with snorkes viewing steel head trout. Then we ventured out and rented canoes from Big Foot rentals and had a wonderful experience floating down the Trinity River for 8 miles. The water is prestine, clear, refreshing and relaxing.

We can't say enough postive things about this place. We feel so lucky to have been here and look forward to another visit.
