About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Ever-changing view as the tide comes in and goes out again. At high tide three dolphins often swim and frolic for all to see.

Our home is on a cul-de-sac and is only a ten minute walk to the beach. We have breathtaking marsh and river views and are just steps away from a riverside observation tower.

This two-story, inverted-floor plan home has 2136 square feet. On the second floor is the living room, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, half bath, and dining room and sunroom that open onto a deck. With its views of the marsh and Kiawah River, the deck is a great place to relax.

The first floor features a spacious master suite with king bed and marsh views. The master bath has his and hers sinks divided by an over-size walk-in shower. The first floor has a second bath shared by two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twins.

2014 beach vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four, plus grandparents enjoyed a great week on Marsh Hawk. The large kitchen was well stocked and the upgraded appliances were a plus. Spent many evenings around the large dining room table playing games and recapping the days activities. Short drive to Charleston was nice, made that trek twice (make sure to visit Patriot's Point). Teenage boys enjoyed biking around the island. Had my parents use the master suite, due to the large walk-in shower, but the second bedroom was also very large and had the same great view. The beds were very comfortable.

Susan, the owner, was great to work with and quick to answer all of our questions.

When I thought of one word that described our stay here, "perfect" was the first to come to mind. This home is cozy and comfortable yet with great modern amenities, well equipped, a view that is absolutely incredible and the very best feature is, as they say, location location location!!! Freshfields now has a newly paved bike path to Kiawah which makes Marsh Hawk an EXCELLENT location for biking to Freshfields, the Town Center, and the Straw Market. It's also on a road with a cul-de-sac, and although my children are adults, I can see how this would be an advantage as well for families with small children. We look forward to spending time at Marsh Hawk in the future. Susan, the owner, was extremely pleasant to work with, thank you Susan for a wonderful week in your home.

Owner's Response: Hi, Thanks for your review. I hope you'll return soon. Until then, you might like to read my new mystery, Die Before Your Time. It takes place on Kiawah. Susan
