The Green Turtle I is a floating houseboat B & B as luxurious as it is unique. Set in historic Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle I offers an expansive view of Boston along with the comfort and amenities of a modern B & B. There are 2 private suites aboard Green Turtle I. We have numerous dining choices from bagels to world famous fine dining.
Enjoy the comforts of a bed and breakfast and the privacy of a hotel room. The suite has a kitchenette and a private bathroom en suite. The Green Turtle was designed for comfort above all and the only reminder your floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling.
Relax with a delightful breakfast while reclined on our dock chairs or sip gourmet coffee from the comfort of a well placed rattan chair.
This was the best Christmas Ever! Staying on the Green Turtle was the Greatest!
Stepping onto the Green Turtle worries fade, time ends, dreams awake.
We were in town to see Paul McCartney at Fenway Park. What made our trip even better was being able to stay at Green Turtle B&B. Karen and Jon are not only terrific hosts, they are really good people. Clean quarters, relaxing and the city is easily accessible from the marina.
My husband and I go to Boston a few times per year for a Redsox game or concert and we usually stay overnight so we don't have to deal with the traffic and late night drive home. We generally stay at a hotel in town, but decided to try something different this time. Boy, am I glad we did!! What a nice change from the busy hotels and crowded streets of downtown Boston. Jon & Karen were very helpful in telling us how to get to the park via public transportation so we didn't have to drive into the city and pay to park. It was very easy to navigate. We just parked our car in the lot on the docks and it stayed put until we left. Jon & Karen's little houseboat was clean, comfortable and well stocked with all of the comforts of home. Including some great goodies to snack on and a wonderful hot, home-cooked breakfast in the morning.. Jon & Karen live on another boat right on the docks so they are there in a flash if you need them. It's so obvious that they love their life on the water and want to share that love and care with their guests. I can't say enough GREAT things about this hidden GEM. I'll take my morning coffee on the docks, watching the sunrise above the Charles over a confined hotel room any day / anytime! Jon & Karen take a personal interest in the comfort of their guests and extend personal touches that you will never get at a 4 or 5 star hotel. Give it a try. you won't be sorry! :)
Jon & Karen were delightful hosts and the accommodations were fabulous! Would highly recommend this to anyone!
Our stay could not have been better. After the 1st night we decided to stay an extra night we loved it so much. So we got a chance to stay on both the house boat and the yacht. I preferred the house boat, my husband liked the yacht better. But both were superb! From beginning to end every detail was considered. John and Karen greeted us like old friends and gave some excellent local recommendations. Getting to know them was one of the best parts of our stay. I mentioned my husband wished he could fish and John immediately led him to some fishing gear and even have him bait. My hubby was in seventh heaven! He fished right in front of our room. I had a hard time getting him to leave the boat to sightsee in Boston. We spent one whole day just hanging out at the Marina, it was so pleasant. The breakfasts were yummy too! The room was clean and spacious. The value fantastic for what you get. When you figure the parking is free and easy; and it was so simple to get into the city, it was the perfect location. The house boat felt more like a regular hotel room and was very comfortable, especially the bed. We loved having the kitchen facilities. We got excellent seafood from a nearby restaurant that had great food but very little ambience. We brought it back to the boat and actually made two meals out
If you are looking to find fault, the only thing would be the airport noise. The Marina is directly across from Logan Airport and the planes are pretty loud. But we had fun watching them land and take off over the water. And they never seemed to fly at times when it would bother, like late at night or early morning. We noticed the sound a few times, but it never bothered us. Still if you are very picky or noise sensitive, be aware of this.
We nada wonderful time thanks to our hosts, Karen and Jon. Wonderful breakfasts every morning, great way to start the day. Our room on the houseboat was lovingly decorated, outfitted with a frig and microwave too! It was a treat to watch the sunsets from the pier, and to be gently rocked to sleep by the motion of the waves each night. A very special place.
Unique vacation venue. Relaxing atmosphere, clean and fully stocked houseboat. The hosts John and Karen couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. Easy access by train to Boston. Breakfast was delivered at our time of choice, and was delicious. Was on my bucket list, and hope to go back there one day!
