About Margreet or Willem Monster
I am a retired computer engineering professor who took up a new 'career' in rural Upstate NY as restorer/redeveloper of historic buildings in the Adirondack region. My wife is an architect and designer. We live on an old farm five minutes away from this rental property.
Margreet or Willem Monster purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Margreet or Willem Monster chose Northville
This is a typical small train station built in the early 1900's resort period. The architecture of the building, its natural setting and the comfortable amenities make this a wonderful place to stay - summer, spring, fall and winter.
What makes this Cottage unique
The location along the Great Sacandaga Lake, the on-site marina where you can put your boat for the length of your stay, the walkable environment (bathing beach, golf course, tennis courts) and the history archive about Sacandaga and the resort era, are all wonderful extras. The area is private and peaceful, surrounded by trees.

The Station house was very nice, and the location/neighborhood was fantastic. My kids loved the dock, kayak, and beach within walking distance.
Historical and Pickleball, too!!
We had a great time plus there were Pickleball/tennis courts right across the street from us. Our stay was most enjoyable.
Our family had a few days to recover here after Ironman Lake Placid. Loved the place. Enjoyed all the history of the train station that was displayed on the walls throughout the house and in the books on the coffee table! We had fun sailing, kayaking, swimming and playing pickle ball! Hope to make it back in the future!
Love this place!
Easy peasy! Accurate information
Very cool place to stay
The station is spacious yet cozy. Games and puzzles provided for when you just want to settle in and not do anything terribly active; a kayak available if you want to get out on the water. The dock is not right at the station, but is close. We enjoyed a very relaxing long weekend!
So peaceful and stunning
