Welcome to Seabreeze (Solar!) Casa and Nature Reserve!!

Our GPS Location 9 degrees 17' 50"N 83 degrees 52'54"W

We are happy to announce that we have proudly Gone Solar here at Sea Breeze Casa! The new system is operating well and we are on track to produce nearly 100% of the electricity consumed here. We are still connected to the grid for rainy days and on sunny days the extra solar production goes back into the local power grid. There is plenty of electricity to power the pool, the property, and to run the AC units in every area of the house. In fact we just installed a new AC system in the living/ kitchen area of the house. Enjoy total comfort at Sea Breeze Casa while knowing you are helping to conserve the planet's resources.

The Main house is built on two levels with 2600 sq ft of living area. Both levels have white water ocean views, mountain vista views, kitchens, laundry facilities, private entrances, and a total of four baths. Granite counters, Italian tiles, slate from Brazil, A/C in the bedrooms, and elegant furnishings make this house a very comfortable place to spend your vacation!

Our New "Poolside Villa" adds an additional 600 + sq. feet of living space as a THIRD MASTER SUITE! A generous wrap around balcony overlooks the pacific and surrounding mountains. This new addition has been constructed of the finest materials using local Teak and Ron Ron wood, along with porcelain tiles, slate, and stone; creating a feeling of warmth and rustic elegance. All of the tropical hardwoods came from local tree plantations and were harvested with all the proper permits. The Villa bath has an elegant slate shower, side by side stone sinks, and a commode. The bedroom/living area is spacious and includes A/C, a king size bed, wardrobe, and comfortable bamboo furnishings. In addition, it has a wet bar area with fridge/microwave, and a full size flatscreen TV with surround sound for your entertainment day or night. A mango tree directly off the balcony invites the monkeys to visit you daily.

And of course, you'll enjoy wifi service in both the main house and the detached villa. Privacy awaits you whether you stay in the new villa master suite or either of the 2 bedrooms in the main house. All 3 are spacious, private, and are steps away from the gorgeous infinity pool. Because of the unique layout of our home, Seabreeze provides the perfect place for a single family with children, 3 couples, or friends who wish to travel together for a small retreat.

Our sunsets from the infinity pool and balconies will captivate you. The rainforest and reserve and mountains that surround you will warm your hearts. You will never want to leave. You will enjoy watching the horses grazing in the pasture below our home. Toucans and many other species of birds will visit you by the pool daily. Oh, and no worries, a troop of monkeys won't forget to visit you at Seabreeze each and every day!!

For those who have been here before and plan to return, we know you'll simply love the new poolside villa and for those yet to experience the magic of SEABREEZE, you will now have 3 Master suites, including the Studio Apartment with separate entrance, kitchen, laundry and full bath..... and yes...we even have a 5th FULL BATHROOM WITH SHOWER off the pool patio!!!!

At Seabreeze, WE ARE ENERGY CONSCIOUS. Our newly installed SOLAR PANELS run the entire home, including the pool.

WAIT....THERE IS MORE.....

We've recently added an additional OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE for your comfort, convenience, and enjoyment. The new covered pavilion extends directly from the main house and is steps away from the detached Villa and includes: a built-in barbecue/kitchen Island, lounge, and full Dining, as well as plenty of lighting for evening entertaining. It also features lush gardens that surround our new enchanting teak shower with rain head, perfect for rinsing off after sun bathing or swimming.

On the opposite side of the pool is our new sunset deck with fireplace where you'll find ample seating for everyone. Sit and enjoy the brilliant sunset while sipping on your favorite fresh fruit smoothy or cocktail.

We look forward to seeing you soon so that we can share our amazing Home and Nature Reserve with you!!

Our home can accommodate a max. of 10 with two king beds, one queen bed, and four double futon beds. Cool off in the 15 meter infinity edge pool with jacuzzi bench and children's play area. The pool is plenty big enough to swim laps. For the nature enthusiast, Seabreeze Casa has access to our adjoining 75 acre nature reserve with abundant wildlife and miles of trails through the rainforest.

Dominical is the closest town to Seabreeze Casa and has some of the best surfing and eco-tourism activities in the world. Hacienda Baru is close by. It is a 900 acre national Wildlife reserve that offers canopy tours, zip lines, bird watching, and nature walks led by trained naturalist guides.

The Nauyaca waterfall horseback tour is always popular. To the north 25 miles is Manuel Antonio National Park with beautiful beaches and lots of monkeys to watch. Ten miles south is Ballena National Marine Park with miles of beaches and great snorkeling. Fishermen will have a choice of excellent river, surf, inshore, and deep sea fishing.

Reptilandia is a fascinating place to view and learn about snakes and many other types of reptiles.

Sea kayak tours are a fun way to explore sea caves or view wildlife in the Mangroves. Toucans and parrots can be seen daily near the house, and the adjoining 75 acre nature reserve is teaming with exotic bird, animal, and plant life.

My wife, Bea, and I (Bob) have lived full time on this amazing 100 acres since 1998. I am a retired firefighter and Bea was a RN in Yakima, WA. We live 75 meters from the rental and are available 24/7 if our guests need anything.

About Bob or Bea Kable

My name is Bob Kable. My wife, Bea, and I came to Costa Rica on our honeymoon in 1998 and loved the country and people so much we decided to make it our permanent home. We lived in the Pacific NW in Yakima WA before we moved to Costa Rica. I am a retired firefighter and Bea was a RN for many years. We bought two hundred acres in 1998 and dedicated a portion of it to a private wildlife reserve. We developed hiking trails through the reserve that our guests are welcome to enjoy. Bea has been involved in animal rescue and is the go to person when someone finds an injured critter or has a sick pet. One of her more recent adventures involved 2 of the neighbor's dogs and a porcupine. I love hiking in the rainforest and spend a lot of my spare time making new trails. We live near the rental house and are available if our guests need anything..Having lived here for 16 years, we are very familiar with the area and are happy to help with tours and suggestions for local activities.

Bob or Bea Kable purchased this house in 1998

Why Bob or Bea Kable chose Savegre

Seabreeze has a unique blend of so much of what one comes to Costa Rica to see, feel, and experience. The journey up the mountain to get here is best understood once you are here. What awaits you is peace and tranquility, spectacular mountain and ocean views, a host of wild life critters, with frequent visits by monkeys, toucans, and many species of birds....oh, let's not forget the parrots...wink, wink...they will sing to you in the morning. Yes..... Seabreeze is that unique blend of luxury, comfort, nature, far enough away from everything and everyone yet close enough to all that you need as you venture off for the day.

We love Seabreeze for all of these reasons and we are sure you will too.

A GEM, NESTLED IN THE RAIN FOREST, AWESOME MOUNTAIN, PACIFIC OCEAN VIEWS, WILDLIFE !!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned home from what was an amazing trip to Costa Rica. If you haven't yet visited Costa Rica, We highly recommend you check it out AND we think Seabreeze Casa is a perfect choice for those looking for comfort, privacy, wildlife, and the"true Costa Rican" experience! In essence, it was nothing less than spectacular! It's location on the Pacific coast, close to Dominical, makes it perfectly situated for anyone who "wants to do it all,” close to beautiful rustic beaches and gorgeous mountains with abundant wildlife. Dominical is the closest town; cool, rustic, low key with great restaurants- Thai, vegetarian to American, sushi, seafood. Check out Cafe Mongo, a great local coffee shop. Seabreeze is close to waterfalls, white water rafting , zip-lining tours and "Pez Vela Marina" located in Quepos, offering great sports fishing. Manuel Antonio, a "must see" town has restaurants, shops, beaches, and is home of one of the best national parks in CR, a great day trip from Seabreeze Casa.

Your first drive to the house is the most memorable, 15 min. up an unpaved, mountainous road into the rain forest, a little unnerving because you arrive at night, BUT HAVE NO FEAR, Bob will be at the bottom of the mountain, to guide you up to Seabreeze. 4x4 is a must! When you arrive, the well-lit car port, and surrounding gardens will warm your hearts. 2 walkways lead you down to the main patio, amazing home, with detached villa, outdoor living space, and gorgeous Infinity pool that overlooks the ocean and surrounding mountains. Seabreeze is well equipt: solar, updated appliances, an"awesome" outdoor BBQ/kitchen. Seabreeze is perfect for families with kids and/or 3 couples or even 2 families...great value!! All 3 bedroom suites are super spacious! The outdoor shower is really cool! The deck with fireplace is the perfect spot to have a drink. Our first morning, monkeys greeted us outside the villa. Amazing! Toucans hung by the pool + hummingbirds and butterflies. We made Costa Rican coffee, blended fresh pineapple/apple/carrot juice every morning.

Bob and Bea Kable are amazing hosts and very special people with huge hearts, live in the nearby guest house and manage this amazing home. They are SO helpful. They go out of their way to help you have the best experience possible! Bob and Bea are so gracious and kind in assisting you! We will DEFINITELY return to Seabreeze! Thank you so much for our unforgettable experience!!!

Magical Family Memories in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My family of five spent eight enchanting days at Seabreeze Casa. I have traveled to many beautiful locations around the world, yet I can honestly say that not one comes close to matching the tranquility, wonder and splendor of this paradise. Bea and Bob have designed a luxurious home while maintaining complete harmony with Seabreeze’s exquisite natural surroundings. Where else can you swim in an infinity pool as toucans sing in deliciously fragrant trees, while rainforest, mountains and the Pacific Ocean stretch as far as the eye can see? At Seabreeze there are also regular opportunities to observe monkeys, sloths, butterflies and many varieties of tropical birds. My family and I enjoyed a morning ritual of eating outdoors, swimming and wildlife watching. We marveled at beautiful gardens on our way to incredible habitats that Bea and Bob have created for their rescued animals. I am not certain if Casper will be there when you visit, but Bea’s heart is so big that she cared for this abandoned, baby sloth during our stay. Mornings when Bea and Casper came down to the pool for a visit were always our favorite.

Bea and Bob also have a special gift with children. They entertained many visits from us, lovingly sharing their amazing creatures and wisdom. We learned life long lessons about respect, compassion and nurturing our planet just from being around them.

When venturing away from Seabreeze, there are many fantastic beaches strung along the Pacific coastline to enjoy. They are all jaw dropping in their rustic beauty, but each offers a slightly different experience. Don’t miss the waves crashing through the caves of Playa Vantanas and make sure to brave Dominical’s local surfing beach. Our young kids enjoyed every beach we visited, but we made sure to keep them close at all times as the riptides are very strong. Hacienda Baru is also a must-see if interested in an exhilarating and educational zip line tour.

There are wonderful restaurants in Dominical that boast delicious meals, but we preferred to pick up groceries for dinner. The setup for outdoor cooking and dining at Seabreeze is fantastic, and after hours away, we all longed to get back to our magical home away from home.

I know we will return to Seabreeze . Who wouldn't return to paradise once they have found it? If you have the opportunity, I wholeheartedly recommend experiencing this delight at least once in your lifetime.

perfection at its best

  • 5 of 5

This is our 5th stay at this rental and will continue to do so. We absolutely love the property and even more so, the managers, Bob and Bea Kable. They have become life long friends!!!!!!!!

We had a couple go with us on this trip and now they also have found paradise in Costa Rica.

There are no words to describe how beautiful this property is and with the new addition of the covered patio, there is no reason to ever leave the place.

Please be aware that 4 wheel drive is a must if you want to explore the area around the Seabreeze.

If you are lucky enough to see the baby sloth learning to climb trees, you will never forget the moment.

Bea is an angel, who rescues all types of animals and dogs, horses etc.

BE PREPARED for a magical escape from the hustle of big cities and the total relaxation for this property.

We are already looking to book our 6th trip back down.

"Seabreeze the Sequel"

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate enough to stay at Seabreeze in March of 2015. The accommodations, grounds, and surrounding nature preserve were nothing less than majestic. Having a total of only six days for a late August vacation, coupled with our desire not to travel to Europe, we returned to Costa Rica, and specifically Seabreeze! What is hard to believe, and to our pleasant surprise, the owners were able to improve upon Seabreeze. They've added an entire outdoor living area. Rather than being forced to stay inside in case of inclement weather, you're able to cook, dine, and entertain outdoors completely unaffected by the weather. Although there is never a dull moment at Seabreeze...In addition to the horses, toucans, and monkeys, the newest addition to the welcoming committee is Casper the baby sloth! One of the highlights of our last visit to Seabreeze was ziplining, but this year we discovered white water rafting! I recommend both to any future guests.

Thank you so much for making our second stay at Seabreeze as magical and as memorable as the first.

Nick and Randi S.

Rest, Relaxation and Luxury

  • 5 of 5

Because I read each and every review prior to booking our family vacation, I feel it necessary to take a separate approach, as after staying for over a week, I can confidently state that there is ZERO reason why a potential traveler should refrain from booking. So, here are a few tips for your trip to Seabreeze:

1. Book the additional flight to Quepos. Quepos is a 45 minute drive to Seabreeze. Bob can share the info with you.

2. BOOK THE 4x4, and be weary of low prices you see online. The government in Costa Rica forces the car rental companies to charge an additional insurance once you sign for the vehicle, and it's hefty. Our 12 car rental reservation through Economy went from $77 pre-tax to $664 upon arrival. Additionally, you cannot get up and down the mountain that the property sits on without a 4x4. Don't even consider attempting it. This is a MUST HAVE not just for the property, but a majority of the roads in Costa Rica.

3. Activate your international calling with data so to avoid having to rent a GPS for the rental car. Download What's App before you travel and put Bob and Bea's telephone #'s in so to be able to contact them easily when needed.

4. Beware of the noseeums, not the mosquitoes. We bought a ridiculous amount of mosquito repellent, unnecessarily. It's these tiny little invisible, tropical critters you need by concerned about. Apply an oil to your skin when outside to avoid the bites.

5. If you fish, book a fishing charter a day or so after you get to Seabreeze so to have fresh fish to cook during your visit. The food is not cheap and I'd recommend the grocery stores in Uvita above the one on the trip down from San Jose prior to the Quepos area.

6. Explore the property. This really is a nature reserve. Bob and Bea have cleared a number of beautiful trails you can hike in an hour to an hour and a half down and up, and it's completely worth it.

7. Beware of swimming the beaches in Domical. The riptides are beyond strong. Drive to Uvita to swim and beach at Marino Bellena National Park. The entrance fee is $6 pp over the age of 11. The waters at Marino Bellena are safer to swim, especially if traveling with children.

8. Exchange your money for colones.

9. Relax. Seabreeze offers the most luxurious atmosphere with breathtaking views of both sea and mountains.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Costa Rica. This property is well worth the trip and managed by the sweetest, most accommodating people. We'll definitely be back!

Our stay was amazing! Perfect way to end our vacation in Costa Rica.

  • 5 of 5

As expected from our previous stay at Casa Seabreeze, everything was fantastic and Bob and Bea were excellent hosts. I highly recommend Casa Seabreeze to friends and family all the time, and I plan on returning next time I visit CR. We felt so lucky to be able to meet and hold Casper the sloth. What a treat. Thank you Bob & Bea!

It is a 900 acre National Wildlife Refuge that offers canopy tours, zip lines, bird watching, and nature walks lead by trained naturalist guides.
