If you are looking for a beautiful place to call home while you enjoy the amazing Rocky Mountains, our cabin is perfect. Imagine relaxing by the warm stone fireplace or sitting out on the deck at sunset with blue skies and gorgeous mountain views. The cabin is tucked in the trees with the privacy of an acre and a pond and spring close-by. Elk, deer and other wildlife love this location to hang out year around. Just a short walk takes you to the banks of the Big Thompson river. After a full day of hiking, cross-country skiing, sightseeing, fishing or climbing, you will find everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation.
This historic cabin was originally built in the early 1900's and has been updated with modern conveniences and a lovely warm decor, now available for your family to enjoy. You will feel right at home with the comfortable furnishings and views in all directions. Each bedroom is furnished with comfortable beds and quality linens and plenty of windows to gaze at the stars or watch a heard of elk or deer lounge in the grass. The kitchen has been updated with beautiful silestone countertops and is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your favorite meal. The dining room and living room look out toward Lumpy's Ridge and the Rocky Mountain National Park's swow-capped peaks.
The two decks, swings held up by ponderosa pines and the beautiful rock outcroppings offer wonderful opportunities for relaxing while wildlife watching, star gazing or time to read. There are two picnic tables and a gas grill for outdoor dining. The neighborhood is laced with quiet gravel roads for an evening stroll. We love our home in the rockies and know you will, too.

About the owner: Bob and I live in Fort Collins, CO and love the opportunity to be so close to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Every chance we get we head up to Rocky Mountain National Park to hike, cross country ski or just relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park, CO, USA:
The first time we visited the Strong House (as we call it), we fell in love with the house and the beautiful setting. We believe this is the most perfect location in Estes Park. Sitting a bit lower in the valley, the property offers the most expansive views of the mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Mummy Range and Lumpy Ridge. The original owners who bought the property in the early 1900's chose this location for their annual summer retreats because of the abundance of wildlife and the natural spring on the property. Today, this area still attracts wildlife of all kinds.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
One of the most relaxing and sometimes exciting things we do at the Strong House is sit outside as the sun retreats, talking and watching as deer, elk, hummingbirds, magpies, squirrels, wild turkeys and other local wildlife meander through the property. Later we enjoy watching for shooting stars and sharing stories of adventures in the Rockies.
