Notes:
This charming unique houseboat is located in a deep water berth second from the end. It is approximately a 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot but the flowers on the dock and the magical vistas make it all worthwhile. The friendly neighbors also add a nice touch to the atmosphere. Our lovely houseboat is wihimsical and fun. It is not extremely elegant. The furnishings are comfortable and bright. The views are awesome from almost everywhere. The sunlight is abundant and it is stocked quite well since this is our second home. There are some glass breakables and items from around the world that we have collected in our travels. There are steps to the different levels which allow for privacay from each bedroom. So, if you are ready for fun and something totally different than a hotel, send us an email and we will be happy to share our Bateau De Reve with you!

Highly Recommended!!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely wonderful property. Unique, beautiful, and very comfortable. This house has everything you need for a great vacation. This was our 1st experience with renting floating home and we had a fantastic time. Everyone enjoyed playing on the boats and riding the bikes that were supplied, as well as spending time on the hottub on the roof. It was an easy drive into San Francisco and right near Muir Woods.

Good Time!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over a long weekend when we were in town for a wedding. It was a great place. There were 3 couples staying here and we did not feel as though we were on top of each other. We all had our own space and plus we had great places to hang out. Michelle was great to work with and was available to answer any questions during our stay.

It is near the end of the dock, which we enjoyed, however someone with a lot of stuff or limited mobility might not like it, but like in other reviews there are carts available. We enjoyed being in the quiet part of the dock.

The only other thing is that I think they have cats at one time or currently in this house. This was not an issue by any means, and we could not tell that there were cats in the house. However, one of the couples staying with us was highly sensitive to cats. (Like UBER sensitive) so he was able to notice. The carpeted bedroom was not for them, but when we moved them to the bedroom with hardwood floors, he did fine. Like I said, not really an issue but wanted to inform any others with potential sensitivities.

Otherwise...I think this was a great place and I would DEFINITELY stay here again if in the area.

LOVED THIS HOUSEBOAT:

  • 5 of 5

4 girlfriends on a weekend getaway, we loved our stay. The pictures are accurate yet don't capture all the charm, This was very clean, neat, nicely decorated, made us feel at home.. We are amazed at how quite it was, very relaxing and comfortable. The owner was accessable, helpful and gave us great tips for shopping (Mill Valley); restaurants Fish, The Trident and we liked Le Garage.

We would highly recommend this property.

Magical holiday

  • 5 of 5

The house boat was accurately described and the listing photos accurately reflected what we found. The property was clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. We would confidently recommend this as a place to stay. The owners were very helpful. The boat has lovely views from the lounge and one of the down stairs bedrooms to the west. The upper bedroom has a view north east across the water. The house boat is located near the end of the pier, which is good because you feel closer to nature, but you do have to walk the pier. In fact you will find this a treat with plenty of plants and all manner of house boats to look at. There are carts available for moving cases and supplies from the carpark.

We used the house boat's canoe to visit the seal colony which is about 1/3 of a mile away. There is also a paddle boat available. Tomy's chinese is close by on Bridgeway and very good. There are a couple of other restaurants also close by. Access to downtown Sausalito is very good and the US Engineers model of San Francisco bay is within walking distance and although not well known should not be missed. The Mollie Stones supermarket is in walking distance as is a West Marine outlet for the nautically inclined.. Access to the freeway is excellent and the Napa and Sonoma Valleys an hour or so away. We visited Castello di Amorosa winery near Calistogo in the Napa Valley. The owner of the winery built a large castle and it is really worth seeing. Muir woods which is close by is also worth a look.

Then there is San Francisco, you can drive, bus, you can drive and park in downtown Sausalito, or cycle and catch the ferry. Walking the Golden Gate is an essential part of the visit. There is a carpark on the right side of the bridge and a walkway underneath. This is easier than the other parking areas. Things can get very busy around the bridge later in the day so best go in the morning.

If all this sounds too much you can just relax watching seals and birds go past your window or from the top deck or pontoon. For a unique relaxing break and change in lifestyle we could not recommend this vacation spot more highly.

Great Character

  • 5 of 5

I would just like to thank Michele for working with us through all our postal issues back home, and sticking with us until we finally had our deposit back. Long story short: Michele issued a return of our deposit on this adorable houseboat as soon as we checked out. Due to a miscommunication with the Post Office and our tenants, we lost about six weeks of mail, Michele's check included. We never recieved most of our mail back...but, Michele ultimately cancelled the origanal and re-issued a new one, for which we are forever greatful. We thought that showed great character...just like the houseboat! What a great time...Thanks Michele

Dream boat it is!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a fabulous month on Bateau De Reve., We were thrilled to have loved the houseboat and location so much. It was so comfortable, with all the amenities one can imagine. The owners thought of everything. It is bright, cheery and very clean. We enjoy the outdoors so having bicycles a canoe and paddle boat to use was so much fun for us. I would recommend this to anyone looking for beautiful surroundings and a wonderfully unique experience. You will not be disappointed.
