Delighted with our stay at Provence in Carmel Valley. We are family of 9 adults ages 24-72 here from the East Coast for my son's wedding. The house is far more vast than even the pictures show, and so quiet you'd never know anyone else was there. Diane greeted us warmly and totally set the tone for our entire visit. She's always available if needed, although thankfully we didn't.The house is in a great location, spotless and equipped with anything you could possibly need. Every seating area is homey and comfortable. The pool and hot tub are an extra bonus for relaxing after a night of partying. Extremely comfortable beds, great quality linens and towels too. Thank you for everything Diane, and we hope to return next year!
Just as advertised. Diane was there to welcome us and was always available to provide support if we needed. Only had to call on her once when we stupidly locked ourselves out of the villa. The villa was great and the views superb. The eagles overflying the property only added to the experience. Unfortunately, our visit came to an end all too soon and we had to leave in order to return home but we will have our very fond memories for life. Thanks Diane, Ian and Sue.
We were all delighted to be in such a beautiful home. Right in Carmel Valley this home made our reunion very special. Diane the owner was very accommodating, she made me feel at home right away with her welcoming smile!!
My family and I spent four nights at this beautiful home to celebrate my birthday. The home is so spacious, with many areas to sit and read a book, or gaze out at the beautiful surrounding hills and trees.
The bedrooms are very comfortable; we slept great and woke up each morning to lots of sunshine.
The pool and spa are amazing. The pool was at just the right temperature and I loved swimming in it at least twice a day! The spa was perfect. There is the most amazing huge old oak tree that is just gorgeous viewed from the pool and patio area.
The kitchen is a cook's dream. We had some meals at the house, and also used the grill. We also enjoyed outdoor lunches at the Corkscrew Cafe (like a French cafe) and Cafe Rustica. Both had great food and are very close by in Carmel Valley Village.
There are lovely antiques throughout the house, and it was very relaxing and quiet.
There are numerous wine tasting spots right there in the village. We stopped by the Cowgirl winery, which was really charming, and fed the free range chickens!
The outdoor fireplace was wonderful at night, and having a kitchen fireplace was an extra special treat. Having a big sitting area in the kitchen with comfy chairs and sofa, in addition to the lovely antique French country dining tables, was the best!
My daughter and husband were delighted to use the free Monterey Bay Aquarium passes.
Thank you, Diane, for your warm welcome, and for making my birthday special with your personal touches, and the most delicious bottle of Cabernet!
It was a pleasure to find a home to rent for our whole family. It filled our needs for everyone including the grown children and grandkids. We loved how spacious the house is and the wonderful pool area. Diane welcomed us and showed us around the house. We enjoyed the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Dennis the Menace Park, Point Lobos, Carmel and the Carmel Valley. All the sites were an easy drive from the house. We loved the warm weather verse the cool weather along the coast. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
We had a fabulous family gathering at Provence in Carmel. The house was perfect on every way. Diane greeted us like long lost friends and was most gracious. The interior of the house provided various delightful areas for eating and lounging. The big well appointed kitchen was perfect for cooking dinner in the evening.
The highlight of each day was sitting by the outside fireplace….a great place for adult conversation after the children had had their s’mores and gone to bed! The beds, by the way, were very comfortable, we loved the tempapedic mattresses!
All the family enjoyed a great day at the Monterey Aquarium, thank you Diane for the passes (a big saving). Meanwhile my husband and I enjoyed a quiet day with a fabulous lunch at Café Rustica in Carmel Valley..... The climate of the valley is ideal with non of the coastal summer fog.
My son arrived with car problems and Diane was incredibly helpful finding a great car mechanic close by. She spent time on the phone researching a place that would handle his specific needs.
It is hard to think of any improvements we would like to see. The only possible suggestion would be an umbrella by the pool. However there is a shaded veranda with fabulous views off the master bedroom that is perfect for lunchtime dining so it's not really that important.
Thank you Diane for a great holiday, we hope to return for another visit soon.
Best hiking minutes away. Monterey Bay Aquarium, Wine Tasting close by, Big Sur and Santa Cruz 45', San Francisco is a 2 hour drive. There are 4 complimentary guest passes to The Monterey Bay Aquarium for your use during your stay.
