'Plum Nearly' has recently completed major remodeling with new tile throughout the 2100+ sq ft house, granite countertops in the kitchen, new stainless appliances and tasteful decorative accents by interior designer Kathryn Kane formerly of DWR East Hampton NY including beaded board wainscoting & crown molding to give it that 'antique beach cottage' look. Ground floor has 2 adult suites (each w/a 32in LCD TV) - each with king beds and in suite baths, tile, bead board walls, fixtures, lighting & vanities w/engineered stone counter tops. Upstairs is a spacious den where you will find new furnishings, 1 sofa, 2 love seats, a 40in Sharp Aquos HD TV + Sony Blu-Ray player for Netflix streaming and a hi-speed wireless internet cable modem/router for wifi service throughout the house. The dining table and breakfast bar provide lots of seating for your family meals. The kitchen comes fully equipped with practically every conceivable cooking utensil & a Keurig. Newly added wood plantation shutters inside, hurricane protective bahama shutters outside.

The large wrap around porch off the family room provides a perfect location for keeping an eye on the kids in the private pool while relaxing in the gulf breezes and viewing the beach from the deck. Master suite on 2nd floor includes a king size Wesley Allen cast iron bed and a new Serta memory foam mattress + in suite bath that was recently remodeled and a new tub added Feb 2017, a 32in Sony Bravia LCD/HD TV, cushioned chair and private balcony. Newly remodeled top floor tower room is an ideal kids retreat with 1 twin x full bunk bed and another twin x full futon bunk bed, a private balcony and a 40" Samsung LCD TV + Playstation 3 and a Sony Blu-Ray player. There are a large variety of beach and pool toys (including beach chairs & umbrellas), board games, paperbacks, an extensive collection of movies at the house and a new propane BBQ grill.

Only 60 steps down the cul-de-sac to the sandy beach and no streets for the kiddo's to cross in this gated, gulf front community. Shops and restaurants are within 100 yards at Gulf Place + Grayton Beach, Seaside and Watercolor are just a few miles away. You can even find wild blackberries on our lot in the springtime! Ample parking for up to 4 cars. Equipped with a new electronic door lock system - so you won't need to get keys @ a rental office before checking in! Pool can be heated for $40/day.

We live in the Houston Texas area, have 3 grown children + 1 special needs grandson and for us we've always had to have at least 1 beach vacation every year. We love our beach house & the area & go there for a visit every 2-3 months. We are always adding to & upgrading things and absolutely love it when we hear from our guests that they had a wonderful time. We love redecorating our beach house and just finished some new floor tile work. We especially enjoy looking at the beach views and sunsets.

Why Bob Tucker chose Santa Rosa Beach

We have been going to the South Walton beach area for a long time and had always wanted to own a beach house. The ambiance and culture here are a perfect match for what our family wanted - beautiful beaches, friendly people, good for walking or biking to places. County highway 30A goes right by Sunrise Beach and was awarded a 'scenic highway' designation by the state of Florida in 2008. Gulf Place is less than 100 yards from our lot & the new Panama City Beach airport is less than 30 minutes away.

What makes this house unique

Convenient to walk to Gulf Place, the beach in Sunrise Beach is private not public, several great restaurants nearby (several flyers in the house from previous guests to give you ideas on where to dine or where to rent a bike or kayak for instance), playing or relaxing on the beach, visiting Seaside, shopping @ the outlets in Destin & Panama City Beach, crabbing at our beach in the evening, surf fishing, family get togethers, just plain relaxing, golfing nearby and enjoying the beach ambiance.

Family Vacation

The house was spacious and the bedroom allotment worked well for a large group of diverse ages. Two master bedrooms were greatly appreciated.

Very good for entertaining with a lot of space in the living area and more than adequate sitting. Very nice large deck. Convenient and covered grilling area.

Location can be both a plus and a minus.Overlooking the pubic access parking area but interesting people watching. Sitting on the deck listening to the live music, but you better like the genre as it is loud but they stop by 9 pm.

There is noise from the road and commercial area, but everything is convenient and the older kids love it.

Pool is small but specially good for younger children.

Over all a good time was had.

Perfect Location and Stay

After searching and reviewing many locations in the entire Destin area, we came across this house and thought we would give it a try. We were extremely happy with our decision. The house is in a gated community and steps from the beach. I know you hear and read all houses are just "a couple steps from the beach". This house truly is. You don't have to cross the street, but rather a boardwalk and you are on the beach.

The house has three full size bedrooms and a bunk room, which was perfect for group. This house can comfortably sleep 10 people. A big 2nd floor deck that provides a nice view of the ocean and overlooks the public beach parking, which provides for some fun people watching!

The owner is great to work with and made sure that we were taking advantage of all this house has to offer. I would definitely recommend staying in this house, as I know my family will be in the future.

GREAT place to stay

I rented this house to finally pull a trip off with another family that we have been talking about for years. They have small kids, mine are older (teens). The floor plan worked perfectly for us with two bedrooms on the main floor, another master on the middle floor, and the "kids tower" on the third level. The house was in perfect condition, the beach was exactly as close as advertised, and the area is fantastic and right in the middle of a ton of stuff to do without all the craziness of other areas along 30A. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect spot with easy beach access that is also close many amenities. The owner was incredibly helpful and replies to messages almost immediately. GREAT PLACE!

Great stay at a great house!

We really enjoyed our week at Plum Nearly. The house was clean and everything was in working order. The location is fantastic, in a quiet cul de sac and right by the beach. We didn't have to cross a street to get to the beach access, which was great with our small children. There are restaurants, a coffee shop and little boutiques right across the street too. The pool was somewhat small but more than adequate for our three boys. It was clean and well maintained. It also had a privacy fence around it keeping it out of view of the sidewalk that runs by the house. Overall, we were really pleased with the house and the neighborhood as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Family Location

I am late to review, but I wanted to make sure I did it anyway. The owner has been fantastic to work with both times we have stayed here. Location is perfect for families with the location to the beach and the layout of the home. When we come back to Destin, we are staying here, mainly so we can deal with these owners again.

Great Location & Tons of Accommodations

My family (4 kids + wife) and I stayed here over Spring Break and it was spectacular. The back deck off the living room is a great place to relax after the sun goes down. You can hear the waves break as you're kicking back on the porch! Although you're next to the beach access parking lot, you really don't hear much of any noise inside the house.

The location is great, especially if you don't usually intend on staying at the beach for the entire day in a single stretch. It took us just a couple minutes (even with a two year old walking...) to get to the sand and set up. It was great to always have the option to go back to the pool too. Not very big, but good for a backup water plan during the day.

We'll definitely be back! :-)
