I built this home in 1991 at Makaha surfing beach because I have enjoyed surfing all my life. I have 4 golden retriever dogs on the property who love people. I enjoy the outdoor life and Makaha is perfect for peace and quiet environment.

Perfect Oahu Getaway
My family and I were looking for a great place to stay in Oahu. Richard and Geraldine’s home in Makaha was the perfect getaway. The grounds and the setting were immaculate and the view of the ocean from front yard is breathtaking. The owners were very welcoming and answered any questions and concerns we had. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
I watched you in the morning looking at the waves every day. I never get tired of watching them myself!! Best wishes, Richard & Geraldine Cayer
Great place to stay and people.
We had four people in our party and it accommodated us very well. It was nice that we were close to a beach. Enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets from the private beach. The owners provided all of the items such as beach towels, umbrella, cooler, etc. that we needed at the beach.
Makaha Guest House
Quite neighborhood right off of Makaha Beach where you can watch sufers catch waves every morning! Property is very clean and has 4 wonderful Golden Retrievers that will steal your heart.
Thank you Troy and family for your kind reviews. We're happy you had a good time at our place. Hope to see you back some day. We enjoyed having all of you here .

Great Family Getaway!
We had a lovely stay and our baby was totally obsessed with the golden retrievers!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
This was my family’s first visit to Hawaii and we couldn’t have made a better choice staying in this beautiful home with beautiful views. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures. We loved the quiet and privacy but also having shopping and fast food only a few minutes away especially for my 2 teenagers. The tide pools were amazing and watching the surfers was exciting, all from our lounge chairs on our private beach. The owners are friendly and helpful so are their Golden Retrievers. We definitely will stay there again!
Great location near the end of the road. Comfortable and clean. Great beach nearby.
Nice house, well appointed. Near some fantastic beaches and a great hike at the end of the road. Comfortable for a small family. Behind a gate in a compound shared with the owner.
Couple of improvements would help... For people who like to cook it could use some staples and basics like spices. Hard to buy those things for a short visit. Good cookware, knives, other kitchen gear (though you might add a big pot for cooking things like pasta). Also, there are four gentle golden retrievers living with the owners and they leave little presents outside on the driveway every day, so watch your step in the mornings. Owner was very responsive to any requests.
Makaha Surfing Beach has surf breaks in the winter and summer. No other break on Oahu has large wave thru out the season. An ancient Hawaiian heiau is located in the valley and Kane Cave is about 2 miles away. Our home is located on the beach at the Point. We have 2 natural tide ponds in the frontage!! The compound is electric gate entry only. Parking for 4 cars. We have volcanic mountain view from the home and sunset view on the sandy beach. Stores are only 3 miles away. Entertainment is at Kapolei 10 miles away.
Enjoy the Ka'ena Point Trail hike, it is home to nesting seabirds and .monks seals. Early Hawaiians used Ka'ena Point for fishing and feather collecting. One of the largest seabird colonies in the eight main Hawaiian Islands is found here. Also found here if the albatross sanctuary.
