Had a wonderful time!
This is one of the better homes I have stayed via VRBO. The owner, Carole, was very responsive and a pleasure to do business with. The house had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with great new non-stick pans. Everything worked fine.
The location was fantastic for exploring all the area had to offer. We visited the redwoods multiple time over the 4 day stay, went to the tide pools at Patrick's Point, the road to fern canyon is just a few hundred feet away, and a herd of elk passed through the property the first night we were there! You can easily walk to the trail-heads of some great trails.
The only minor issue we had was with the proximity to the 101 freeway and the road noise. At night, the traffic goes down significantly and aside from large trucks you can't hear much when the windows are closed. It had no impact on use getting a good night sleep.
We loved the Farmhouse & would definitely stay there again if we get back that way. Love, love, love the furnishings. So perfectly appointed!!
pristine, canopy-level get away
We came here to hike in the redwoods to Fern Canyon and this is the perfect "home-base" for that. The space is clean, lots of light, great kitchen, private, and very comfortable. We saw no one while we were there.
Carole, the owner, has everything in order, well-stocked with basics and she is available by phone if need be.
It is probably not appropriate for very young kids who might find the inside ladders to the loft sleeping places much too much fun to climb. And, there is some noise from the road.
It is a great place.
Wonderful cabin close to hiking trails.
We had a wonderful stay at this homey cabin which was very close to hiking trails. We got to watch some deer eating in the yard.
Location convenient for state and national parks
Overall a nice place. Conviently located.
The location is perfect. Right in the middle of everything. Loved seeing the elk in the front yard. The views from the windows were amazing. The place is stocked with more than everything you need. There is some road noise from 101 but it did not bother us. Carole was very prompt and helpful answering questions. There is no photo of the bathroom but I can tell you that it is big, very nice, with plenty of hot water for multiple people's showers. The layout of the place is unconventional. The bathroom is with the main bedroom. The lofts are accessible with very steep ship ladders. The ceilings in the lofts are lower and slanted. It's worked out fine for us (two adults in 50's and two teens) but it's definitely not a layout that will work for everyone. The wifi was not that great but I kind of expected that in the rural setting.
