About Lou

Hi! My wife Luisa and I enjoy coming to the Outer Banks and especially Duck to enjoy all it has to offer. We enjoy its relaxing atmosphere, the private beaches and easy access to the Sound. You're a short driving distance to all the shops and restaurants in Duck or if you prefer bike to town.

Lou purchased this house in 2008

Why Lou chose Duck

We chose to purchase a cottage in Duck because of the close proximity to the beach and sound. We love relaxing on the deck or walking to the sound to watch the sunset. The beaches in Duck are private and that was a major consideration in our decision.

What makes this house unique

Some unique benefits we enjoy are the short walk to both the beach and sound. You can also bike or jog to Duck.

Clean and convenient

  • 4 of 5

We had three families consisting of 7 adults and 5 kids. The house set up was perfect for all of us. The kitchen had all the pots/pans/supplies we needed. Access to two pools and a short walk to the beach that our 4 year olds could handle. The house gets 4 stars because it is a little outdated. Other than that it is very clean and functional! Duck is a cute town. House is in a nice neighborhood and has good parking. This rental is a good value!

Great Beach House with a nice layout!

  • 5 of 5

Great beach house with a really nice open layout and plenty of room! The main top floor where the kitchen, living room, dining room and master bedroom and bath are has a wonderful open floor plan and high ceilings. The middle floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and another little living area with TV. And the ground floor has the laundry and a little game room with foosball/hocky table. This house was nicely furnished and well-equipted for cooking etc., and very comfortable. We loved the extra living spaces as well (our kids played foosball every day), and the little decks off each floor, especially the one that faces the sound where we could view beautiful sun sets. It's a super close walk to the sound and sound pool (just acrooss the street), and there's a great little pier there with covered area with seats at the end where we crabbed. And it's an easy walk to the beach (which was important to us as we had a 5 yr old with us). There is also a beach side pool (though pool is not on the beach)..We definitely enjoyed this beach house and would recommend it!!! And if you are looking for a nice quiet restaurant that doesn't feature fried food (so probably not a kid place), try Eliabeth's Cafe and Winery in the back of Scarborough Faire. It's a bit pricey, but really good!

What's Up Duck

  • 5 of 5

Excellent location, truly an Ocean to Sound community. The home was super clean, fully equipped and the living areas were very spacious. Short walk to the beach even shorter walk to the Sound . Both community pools are great, especially the very picturesque soundside pool. Our family enjoyed swimming, kayaking, crabbing off the pier, biking to Duck and watching the sunset at the gazebo every evening. Will definetly recommend this home and will be back next year.

Fantastic house, great owner

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks in this house and loved it. Very comfortable and kid-friendly layout. Bikeable to downtown duck. Short walk to the beach, two pools very close-by, and a great all-around experience. We shopped, ate donuts, lounged on the beach, played golf at Currituck, climbed the lighthouse in Corolla, visited the Kitty Hawk memorial, did quite a bit, and also did a whole lot of nothing. Best vacation ever.
