A day at the Resort:
You might start your day with a golden sunrise, a cup of Hawaii-grown coffee and a candy-sweet papaya from the local farmers’ market or perhaps with a barefoot walk on the golden sands. A passerby says, 'Aloha.' A lone fisherman casts his line. A kayaker heads out to sea. As the salt air clears your mind, you realize it feels different here.
Surround yourself in the warm trade winds as you watch the shimmering waters of the Pacific and your children frolic in the 2-acre lazy-river pool. The pool winds through a lush tropical landscape complete with waterfalls, two water slides, a sand-bottom pool for young children, a 'secret' grotto, and three whirlpool spas. Enjoy a refreshing drink and a snack or a delicious dinner at the Oasis By The Beach beachfront restaurant. Treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment at the on-site full-service Spa By The Sea. Dine on the lanai as the sun sets with its nightly display of color. Lounge in the Living room as you enjoy a full spectrum of entertainment with the flat screen television, DVD, Stereo & CD player. Retreat to one of the tropical theme Master Bedroom suites and enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves and beautiful views. Prepare a picnic lunch or a gourmet meal in a kitchen fit for a chef. Your condo is a place you will enjoy, remember, and look forward to visiting again.
Life is a vacation when you're at Waipouli Beach Resort. Activities abound, many of them available right in your own backyard: kayaking, boogie boarding, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, body boarding, kite surfing, the list goes on. You will find gear for many activities right in your condo. There are companies that rent other equipment and give guided tours or lessons all along the Eastside Coconut Coast. You'll want to explore Kauai's lush trails, including those along the dramatic Na Pali Coast. Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding are just a few of the possible day's diversions. For the more adventurous, there's also hang gliding, deep-sea fishing, water-skiing and helicopter rides. All activities come with free-of-charge, breath-stealing, natural beauty. Also, while you can’t use this as an excuse every time you want to come, Kauai is a popular place to get married as well as to honeymoon.
Everything you need is within strolling distance. Coconut Marketplace, just down the road from Waipouli Beach Resort, is a treasure-filled wonderland. Kauai Village is right across the road. Wander around either one and you'll find boutiques, fine dining spots, hole-in-the-wall eateries, authentic Hawaiian shops, jewelry stores, art galleries, healing and wellness centers, grocery stores, and a pharmacy. You'll spot everything from fresh leis to fresh vegetables, aloha shirts to hibiscus soaps, and hand-carved koa bowls to handmade quilts.
Or--You might kick back and let your stress melt away in the warm sun and gentle trade winds of Kauai. Visitors sometimes have difficulty realizing they don’t have to do anything! Catamaran cruises, world-class golf courses, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, hula shows, luaus, and sight-seeing can easily use up your day. With weather that is moderate year around, (average temperatures range from 77° to 84°F) it’s OK to lie for hours on the beach or by the pool, or sit on one of your lanais and watch the surf.
Perhaps it's the natural beauty of Kauai that brings out the best in people or maybe it's the island tradition of gracious hospitality. Whatever the reason, you'll find that the people of Kauai offer a welcoming spirit of aloha that makes you feel right at home. You will fall in love with the beauty of Kauai and its people.

Aloha! We're Jim and Kathleen. Jim is a retired engineer and Kathleen teaches at a local university. We're living our dream of owning a luxury condo on kauai, and we're enjoying a seemingly unlimited supply of things to see and places to go on this Island. Come “Live aloha” on the Garden Island and pass it on!
Kathleen purchased this Condo in 2007
Why Kathleen chose Kapaa
We have fallen in love with the Aloha spirit of Hawaii, the beauty of Kauai, and the fantastic people we meet every day. You will love the upscale design and the quality of Waipouli Beach Resort. The Eastside location is very convenient for getting to all the Kauai points of interest.
What makes this Condo unique
The Eastside location of this beach resort condo is convenient to Hanalei and Princeville on the North shore as well as Poipu and Waimea in the south. Plus, Waipouli is only 8 miles from the airport! (But no plane noise!) Our Kauai resort is situated on a gorgeous sandy beach. Shopping and fine restaurants are just across the street. A lazy river pool winds through a tropical landscape complete with waterfalls, two water slides, a sand-bottom pool for young children, a 'secret' grotto, and three whirlpool spas. A beachfront bar serves drinks, soft drinks, burgers, gourmet sandwiches, and snacks. The beach-side restaurant serves locally sourced gourmet meals and features live music in the evening.

Wow what a wonderful spot! We had our toddler with us and couldn't have been happier! The apartment and entire resort were so clean. The family friendly environment was wonderful. We are usually off exploring but we didn't want to leave the resort as we were all having the best time!
We loved our condo and the grounds. We were disappointed with beach by the condo as you couldn't walk very far and was not very nice to hang out on. The only real complaint at the condo is that the luggage cart was never available when needed and security/staff were not able to help, just saying people don't bring them back and they sit in hallways. We had to carry all our groceries and luggage for two weeks up to the forth floor, and there was no elevator in our part of the building. When we checked out we went looking for the cart and found two of them in a corner on the 2nd floor of another building. The only other small thing is that we were told we could use the pool area all day until we had leave for our flight which we did but the code was changed on the gate so we had trouble getting in and out, it would be nice if they left the code unchanged until the end of the day for people in our position. We very much enjoyed the condo and the pool area.
Hi, I am sorry you had problems with the groceries and luggage. Although there is no elevator in Building F, where the condo is located, the elevator in Building E is quite close, and on the ground floor, has a door out to the parking lot. I measured the distance once for a guest with mobility issues, and distance is less than 80 steps. There is also a grocery cart in the condo that can bring groceries from the car to the elevator and then from the elevator to the condo.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay nevertheless.
Would stay here again
Great location. Probably best condos/resort in this area.
Loved our stay at your property!
We loved our time at your rental property. It was a perfect location for us and having all the amenities of this condo and the resort was such a bonus for us. The only suggestion we have for you to add is a pizza cutter! LOL! Otherwise we found the all the extras stored in the closet to be so enjoyable as we traveled around the island & exploring several beaches during our days. I think our favorite beach was Anui Beach up North to be the best swimming/walking/snorkeling beach for us. Beautiful & quieter island to visit! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful condo. Great location. Plenty of things to do. I would stay here again for sure. Mahalo
The Gem of the Island!
Thank you Kathleen and James! We had a wonderful time on your island during our December 23, 2017-January 1, 2018 holiday with our grown children and family of five. We highly recommend your beautiful place and would love to return. Thank you for sharing it with us.
We were extremely pleased with our communications with Kathleen and James prior to the trip. They were helpful and very kind in meeting our request for unscented sheets and towels, which we so appreciated. All of the information for accessing the property was accurate and easy to understand. I might also add that our damage deposit was promptly returned.
The condo and the property are beautiful with great amenities. The property is lush with greenery and has several hot tubs as well as a lazy river with slides, and the property itself is on the ocean. The grounds are immaculately maintained. It is conveniently located not only to the airport, but makes day trips to all other parts of the island very easy. The condo has everything that was advertised (and more) and the kitchen is large with nice appliances. IThe washer dryer is also large and we really utilized that convenience. We had no need for the air conditioning as the breezes were so nice, but it is available. The Safeway and Foodland are literally right across form the property. My daughter was very happy with the poke selection at the Foodland. We made two trips to Costco, which I would recommend if you have a large party, as food and adult beverages on the island can be pricey. Get the Safeway card too (free) or you will pay a lot more for groceries there. We were able to rent bikes on the property for a lovely ride along the coast and stopped to have shave ice with ice cream from one of the food trucks along the way (yummy). The concierge at the property was helpful in giving us direction and making recommendations. Be sure to carry cash as many small venues do not take credit or the machine may not work. Great canoeing and kayaking very close to Fern Grotto and the Secret Falls and it is just a short car trip away.
We got up early, had great adventures, and were always happy to return to our homeaway from home. We watched movies every night that had been filmed on the island (provided in the condo) and there are a large number of books on loan with information on the island, and books for pleasure reading as well. Could not have had a more memorable time!
The Beauty of Kauai:
Kauai is known as the 'Garden Island' due to its lush green landscape. Even among the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai stands out for the natural beauty of its sculptured cliffs, cascading waterfalls, quiet lagoons and pristine beaches. The rivers and streams nourish a phenomenal abundance of trees, flowering plants and exotic birds, many species of which cannot be found anywhere else. Scenic wonders include Waimea Canyon, Hanalei Valley, Kilauea Lighthouse and wildlife refuge, Fern Grotto, many stunning beaches and, for the courageous, Kalalau Valley, a favorite Kauai camping spot.
You’ve probably seen more of Kauai than you realize, and an excursion from your condo toward the north shore might surprise you as you pass the scene where stampeding dinosaurs nearly stomped the humans in “Jurassic Park”. Kauai has been used as a location for movies set in Brazil, Korea, Vietnam, Africa, and even Mars.
Much of the island is untouched by human development, and you can explore it by foot, boat, plane or helicopter. The Waimea Canyon, “the grand canyon of the pacific”, the rocky NaPali Coast, and the beautiful Hanalei Valley offer breathtaking vistas. Or, you can simply drive through whispering palm groves, rolling hills and quaint villages. Perhaps you'll take advantage of some of the world's finest beaches, golf courses and restaurants. Or you might go hiking, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, bicycling, kayaking, ziplining, horseback riding, or just driving among Kauai's unrivaled natural splendors. Possibilities for exploring the outdoor treasures on Kauai are unlimited. We keep a list of things we want to do and it keeps getting longer even though we try to do some of them whenever we can.
Or--You might kick back and let your stress melt away in the warm sun and gentle trade winds of Kauai. You may have difficulty realizing you don’t have to do anything! Catamaran cruises, world-class golf courses, surf, snorkeling, hiking, hula shows, luaus, and sight-seeing can easily use up your day. With weather that is moderate year around, it’s OK to lie for hours on the beach, or sit on one of your lanais and watch the surf. Also, while you can’t use this as an excuse every time you want to come, Kauai is a popular place for weddings as well as to spend a Hawaii honeymoon.
Kauai's East Side,The Royal Coconut Coast:
The Waipouli Beach Resort in Kapaa Hawaii is located on the 'Coconut Coast'. Kauai's East Side is a region filled with history and culture. The landscape includes large groves of coconut trees and Wailua is a sacred and significant place for the ancient Hawaiian “ali’i” (royalty). Take advantage of all its offerings -- the Wailua River State Park, Fern Grotto, Wailua Falls, and other gems. Opaekaa Falls is an unforgettable photo op. A historic restored Hawaiian village lies on the riverbanks.
Be sure to find time for a leisurely stroll through Historic Kapaa Town and its funky and fine items including some great Hawaiian crafts, aloha shirts and other Hawaiian clothes, jewelry and fine art objects.
Wherever you go, you'll quickly fall in love with our beautiful garden island of Kauai and will always have fond memories of your Hawaii vacation
Things to do with children
You can fill up every day with activities, or you can choose to slow down and enjoy the Resort. (True story: we try to take our own family and friends to see everything when they visit us and more than once our guests have begged us, “Can’t we just stay here and hang out at the pool?”)
In Your Condo: We have provided a DVD/VCR player in the living room. The Kauai movies collection includes every movie made on Kauai, and there are many! Every Jurassic Park movie, South Pacific, Tropic Thunder, many Vietnam-themed movies, Elvis’ Blue Hawaii and so many others were set in Kauai. Kids love to try to identify where the scenes were filmed! The CDs are of island music, and many guests have told us they like to play them in the car while driving around. The books include tour books about Kauai with information about beaches, hikes and other activities. There are also some board games, puzzles, and DVDs for children. The condo also has boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, and other beach gear, ice chests, and snorkel gear (including kid sizes), and sand toys
At Waipouli Resort: Your kids will want to spend many hours at the pool! It’s a two-acre lazy river through lush tropical landscaping.
