About Ron Hart

Margie and I (Ron) have been traveling and enjoying the areas for 15 years. A few years ago we realized that we would love to spend more time in Mexico and even retire there some day. We stumbled onto this neighborhood, made the purchase and had a lot of fun filling it with furniture and local flare. After we were finished we had the idea to try to rent it a few weeks a year to help pay the expenses. Things really took off and we are fortunate enough to have an abundance of nice folks happy to rent our casa.

Ron Hart purchased this villa in 2008

Why Ron Hart chose Chemuyil

Even if you tried, I don't think you could pick a better location for a get away casa. We are centrally located to all the greatest attractions, beaches, ruins, golf, fishing , cave diving, reef snorkeling, cenotes and the parks.

We feel that you get the real experience of the Riviera Maya in this area, Its safe, and friendly. We love it. Every person that has experienced it just LOVES their vacation here. Enjoy the private patio with coconut trees, table and chairs, a hammock for 2 and a great grill.

What makes this villa unique

Having bikes at the casa is a big plus. Its only a few minutes to the charming Mexican village of Chemuyil or to the beautiful beach and sea turtle sanctuary

Guestbook comments from the owner

A hidden paradise! Thanks Ron for all the information on the area. The food, parks, shopping, snorkeling, turtles and the beach was especially amazing. By the way, we left our snorkel equipment so others could use it or have extra. We will sorely miss the street tacos and the smiles of the local ladies that cook them. Thank you so much!

We are 45 minutes south of the Cancun airport, 25 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen, 3 minutes south of Akumal and 12 minutes north of Tulum and the Tulum ruins and beaches. Coba ruins are about 30 minutes away. We are 3 minutes away from Xel Ha waterpark and nature preserve and surrounded by lots of cenotes.

Other Activities: We always suggest the beach right across the street. Its one of the best in the world. The Tulum ruis only 15 minutes away is a must see for a quick tour. If you liked the Tulum ruins, Coba ruins (the tallest in the Yucatan) are only another 20 minutes away.

Our favorite Mexico restaurant is only a half mile away in the charming village of Chemuyil. El Parque. Two people can feast for around 10.00 for dinner!

Lots and lots to do. Waterparks are a hit with the kids and lots of opportunity for the fisherman, golfer, snorkeler, diver, beach bums, photographers, bird watchers and explorers.

Golf: About the area:

I'm not a big golfer, but I know many people come to the area and rave about the courses in the area. I will get more info for you guys on this.

somewhat disapointed

  • 2 of 5

The toilet is from the dark ages. There was no cable TV. The high end appliances were high end 20 years ago. Everything in that place needs to be updated or replaced. The location is near the main highway (noisy).

We left the place in better shape than we got there.

The experience is what makes this place special. The casita itself lies in a wonderful community where people talk, share experiences and look out for each other. It felt very safe. The folks who manage this casita are truly exceptional in that they do everything they can to assure that your stay is a remarkable experience. Thank you so much Rachelle and Aaron. We had a wonderful time!!

Casa Marguerita

  • 4 of 5

The pictures and descriptions on the listing describe the place as it is. We were a group of 4 adults that wanted to visit the area and not go all-inclusive....we wanted to get out and see the sights, and we did. Xel-Ha, Xplor, Akumal Bay, the beaches of tulum, scooters on Cozumel, Playa Del Carmen, the beach across the street, Cenotes...... We did not rent a car so we relied completely on taxi, busses and collectivo - which did work easily, but a car would have been nice to have. We bought a few groceries and things and the grocery store in Tulum, and a few things from Chemuyil. We really enjoyed La Palapa restaraunt in Chemuyil. If you give him a days notice he can have lobster for you the next night. We also had pizza from Leo's and went to the bar in town a few times. We had a great time and i think we will be back. The ocean is so beautiful....we have to go back.

Good Alternative to All Inclusive

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Casa Margarita exceeded our expectations. Ron was very easy to deal with via email. When we arrived the property manager "Cowboy" was there to meet us. He gave us a tour of the house, the community Chan Chemuyil and then the neighbourring Mexican pueblo Chemuyil. This was extremely helpful as we could find the local cenote (beautiful and free to swim in), all the services you could need in the pueblo- laundry, convenience stores, restaurants, and the local beach. We wanted to show our kids an more authentic Mexico and not just a resort setting. Staying here allowed us to do so. We found we ventured into Chemuyil almost daily...the people were friendly and it was extremely safe.

The Casa was very clean and had everything we needed. The use of the lifejackets, beach chairs, umbrella, etc was nice on the beach.

I would recommend this rental as a safe, clean and affordable option to visiting the Mayan Riviera.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

What a great place! We spent over a month here and cant wait to visit again. The community is filled with friendly people. The home is clean and well equiped. There are bikes to ride the many trails, and 3 nearby cenotes to cool off in.

Air conditioners work great and the beds are comfortable. There is a private back yard with a BBQ grill, and a line to dry wet suits.

Everything you need to be comfortable is right here.

The reviews my wife and I read before vacationing here paint a clear but almost to good to be true picture of the house, neighboring village, local beach and people. It sounded so fantastic we booked for a month and are extremely happy to say it's all true.

We had one of the best months of our lives.

The house and furnishings provided for our every comfort, the village for our every need, the beach and water our every want. The people in both the community and the village were great, and the location was ideal for venturing out to experience remote, less traveled places while providing us a small town, safe place to come home to.

We can't recommend a stay here hightly enough.
