What started as a winter retreat for Norwegian family members, the 'Love Shack' has become a cherished family getaway for all. The famous Galveston Island 'magic' can be felt throughout her sturdy walls and original 1913 wooden floors. Weathering Ike with only minimal exterior bumps and bruises, Love Shack is now more beautiful than ever with a new whitewashed picket fence, deck, and lush front garden. Galveston has become our home away from home.
What makes this House unique
The recent outdoor addition of a large private deck and beautiful landscaping have made weekends even more enjoyable. Grab the floats and towels for a quick stroll to the beach in the morning where the 37th street pier and life guard stand makes for a safe and fun family spot. That evening, return with beach chairs for a beautiful sunset colored sky to remember. The east end Seawall offers a wide variety of entertainment and dining options within easy walking distance of the Love Shack. You can also walk to the new pleasure pier. Leave the car in the garage for a night of fun on the Galveston Seawall!

This house is in a great location! It is within walking distance to the beach and many restaurants. The house was perfect for our 3 couples. It was clean and well-maintained. Gaard was very helpful and reachable.
House was perfect and as advertised.. Plenty of room for 3 adult couples. Has everything you need, short drive to Krogers to stock up if needed. $11.00 Uber ride to the strand. We usually go to Galveston a few times a year and have stayed at other VRBO's but will book this one again on the next trip for sure.
This house was very clean, had all the amenities promised and in a perfect location. There were 6 adults (3 couples) traveling and the 3 bedrooms were perfect for this. We had plenty of room. Nicely decorated and comfortable. The owner Gaard was easy to work with and very pleasant. Highly recommend and will stay again.

Charming and Clean 3 bedroom home
a great experience staying at this charming 3 bedroom home. Owner made it easy to access the property. very clean inside and out. great location -- just a few blocks from the beach. back porch very conveniently has hose to rinse off beach sand before entering the house.

Very clean, walking distance to Gaidos & beach.
Owner was easy to communicate with, always responded within an hour. With the use of the garage, we were able to park 4 vehicles & not have any in the street. 8 adults slept comfortably. Will look into returning later for beach time.

Very clean and comfortable older home.
We had a nice visit. So close to the beach. Only issue was a shouting match outside at 2 am on Saturday night. Sounded like a drunken brawl - but the house was good.

Only 2 blocks from the beach. Easy walking distance to restaurants shops and all the activities on the Seawall. A short drive to the downtown Strand area and Moody Gardens, if you don't want to drive there is easy access to bus transportation. You are 40 miles from Houston Hobby airport.
