I am in Sales and my wife is a Flight Attendant. We love being near the water.
David Ralby purchased this house in 1999
We bought this property because we love being near the ocean and the feeling we get once we cross the bridges from the main land onto the island. It is a very special feeling of serenity and calmness. We live just 90 miles from our Cape house and get to visit it often. We love working on the house. We pick one major project every year to improve our home.
It's September and the leaves are starting to turn color. As I sit here, all I can think about is "How long until our summer vacation?" My family and I have been vacationing at this wonderful home for the past 5 years. The memories that we have made over the years are priceless. In 2011, our wee one's were quite small, but cried when they had to leave their "Cation Home" because they had such a great time and continued to through the years. This past year, they were riding their bikes to the beach and going to the Community House for Soccer and Baseball or to hang out and participate in the many activities provided there.
Our host is one of the most caring people you would ever want to meet. His goal is always to make your stay the best it can be. He is always available for you if you need him and he is a pleasure to rent from. The setting is quiet and just far enough away from other houses, that our family Karoake nights don't bother the neighbors.
If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and to make family memories for years to come, rent this home. You will love it.....Sit down, relax and enjoy the moment.
Thanks for another great vacation Dave....We can hardly wait until next summer ! And PS: We cried when it was time to go home !
My family was visiting Mashpee from Virginia in June for a vacation and family wedding . This home was very comfortable and perfect for a large group. The layout was great being all on one level. David the owner was very easy to work with explaining all about the house and even took the time to show us all around the area. I would recommend this home to anyone visiting Mashpee. My wife and I already talked about renting again if we vacation up here again. Thank you David for a nice relaxing time
The property was represented accurately regarding location, layout of the home and the amenities were plentiful. The home was clean and maintained. David welcomed our family with open arms and a beautiful vase of flowers on the bar. David took the time and explained everything about the home. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful home. We needed a home to accommodate a large family and it surpassed our needs. Thank You David for sharing your home with our family.
We are from Montreal. We booked at the last minute. The owner was really easy to work with and generous. The place is well situated. The house plan is well design for our extend family (6 adults, 4 children), enought place for every one. The landscape is large and intimate. We hightly recommend this house. It was our first time in Cape Cod. We hope to stay there again !
My family and I stayed at this house for our daughters wedding at the Popponessett Inn. The home was very roomy with lots of natural sunlight! The house is very well equipped with plenty of dishes, cookware, linens, pillows etc. The house was clean and neat. It offered a huge dining table for us all to sit at. The washer and dryer was very helpful too. We loved the quiet are , but were very close to everything we needed. There are many outdoor sitting areas front and back, with plenty of outdoor furniture. Two full bathrooms really helped! There was lots of space for my daughter and her bridal party to get ready. Grocery stores, Mashpee Commons shopping, and beach were 5 minutes away. We enjoyed walking and relaxing on our vacation! This home is wonderful , I highly recommend it. The owner is very easy to work with, and was very considerate of our needs regarding the wedding. I hope to stay there again!!
This house lived really well for our extended family. It is all on one level—well, the living room is two steps down—with the living room, dining room and kitchen in the center. There are two bedroom wings with two bedrooms each and a bathroom. Each wing has a “king” bedroom and a “queen” bedroom with a futon . One wing has a hall bathroom, the other has a “master” bath located in the “king” bedroom. All the bedrooms have older TV's but we didn't go to the Cape to watch TV so we never turned them on.
The property is shady with lots of trees. The Zen Garden was a great place to go sit and read during the daytime. We were able to park up to five cars (could have parked more) without making the property look like a 'frat' house. It is really nicely landscaped.
I knew nothing about Mashpee, having stayed further out on the Cape previously. The location in New Seabury was great. First, it was within walking distance of Popponessett beach. There isn't much beach parking so the beach doesn't get overly crowded. The house has plenty of beach towels and beach chairs so you don't have to lug those things from your home. It is also within walking distance of a cute village with a miniature golf course and cute shops.
We did take two days and take the ferry from Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard and a whale watching cruise out of Barnstable Harbor. The rest of the time we just hung out and caught up with our far-flung family.
Groceries were available at the Stop and Shop at Mashpee Common. There was also a CVS there.
This is definitely a place we plan to return to our next time on the Cape.
