About Cindy & Jim Mill
Our family of 5 is from Massachusetts and the New England area and moved for a job opportunity to Minnesota a few years ago. We still spend a few weeks every year in our cottage and have many good friends who take care of the property for us.
Cindy & Jim Mill purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Cindy & Jim Mill chose North Eastham
This cottage was perfect for us with our three young daughters. Secluded, safe, off the beaten path, quiet yet close to everything. We searched all over the Cape for a few years before being fortunate enough to find this unbelievable place on the very best part of the Cape. Being so close to the Bay and Ocean beaches along with the accessibility to Eastham, Orleans, Welfleet and Provincetown was important to us. The outdoor shower was (still is) one of our favorite features ~ even in the Spring and Fall. We built the fire pit in the front of the property and create many memories with our family, extended family and friends out there every year.
What makes this Cottage unique
The attached screened-in porch and adjacent deck helped us get the kids to sleep and still stay up listening to music, entertaining friends, etc. on the porch without disturbing them. Being so close to the Bay side beach (Cooks Brook) allowed us to make quick trips back and forth from beach to cottage and back, and made for tons of fun at both high and low tide for our whole family. We are also able to enjoy the nearby Ocean beaches (Nauset Light, Coast Guard and Marconi) and make the most of our Cape Cod experience every time we're there. We make sure to catch a sunrise or two over the ocean every year since it's so close. Nauset Ice Cream features unbelievable homemade ice cream and is only 5 minutes from the cottage. This was a definite plus for us ~ along with the incredible and nearby fish markets in Eastham, Welfleet and Orleans. 4th of July on Cooks Brook Beach is a ton of fun where you can watch fireworks up and down the Cape Cod Bay. The yard is not grassy however it is large enough for running around and family games. Being on a cul de sac on a private road allows for a lot of space to play without any traffic. The trees on the property are perfect for hanging a hammock or two, so be sure to bring your own! Last but certainly not least, the SUNSETS on Cooks Brook Beach (pictured above) are absolutely incredible and make for a nice evening walk before or after dinner.

Cozy cottage felt like home.
Great cottage! Loved the location.Cindy checked in via text to make sure we were all settled in and had everything that we needed. We spent every night at Cooks Brook Beach enjoying the spectacular sunsets. Visted Nauset Light Beach, Marconi Beach and Race Point Beach. We were entertained watching seals swimming at all three ocean beaches. Picked up lobsters at the Friendly Fisherman and enjoyed cooking wonderful dinners and eating in the charming screened in room. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make some memorable meals. The outdoor shower was as awesome as everyone said it would be. We made s’mores over the fire pit . The Drive in was so much fun! We didn’t want our time to end at the cottage. We are looking forward to visiting again next summer.
Quiet location, but still close to stores.
Nice location with lots of trees, and close to everything. The outdoor shower is wonderful. We really enjoyed the screened in porch, and deck. The owner checked in via text to make sure everything was ok which I really liked. We would definitely stay at this property again.
Great location for family vacation
This was our second time in this area and first time staying at this cottage. We liked it very much and found it very clean, fully functional and quiet despite relatively close neighbours. A short 3 minutes drive to the beach on the bay side. I would return in a heartbeat!
Quiet and relaxing. Good location and especially loved porch!
Was as described but for not having sand chairs, which made it 4 vs 5 stars. Owner was apologetic and suggested we purchase and get reimbursed but guess I was not in mood to shop:) Kids brought hammock and lived in it when at cottage. We all liked porch and nice fire pit. Walked to bay beach a couple times but the drive to Oceanside beaches was easy-went early as they sometimes fill up.
Overall, great location and accommodation.
Great house and good location It would be perfect for a small family We had 5 people and was a bit too small and overcrowded, but overall it was great. Thanks
Perfect location, full of charm!
Hidden Hideaway was everything my family was looking for! You can't beat the location- Eastham is close to everything you need: amazing beaches and a quick zip to Provincetown- and the cottage itself is within a few miles of SO many great beaches! Even though there are other homes nearby, the wooded lot provides maximum privacy and really adds to that 'tucked away', secluded feeling we wanted. Highlights of the home are definitely the screened in room (beatiful, perfect for curling up with a book), the outdoor shower (we never want to shower indoors again!) and the firepit (great for quiet evenings). Cindy was available and perfect to deal with. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again!
This cottage is a stone's throw to the family-friendly BAY BEACHES as well as the NATIONAL SEASHORE Beaches; a perfect place for biking and for relaxing! You'll be very close to the Cape Cod bike trail, excellent ice cream, restaurants, golf and mini golf, ponds and playgrounds, Eastham center, fish markets, grocery shopping and other shopping in surrounding towns (Orleans & Welfleet).
WELFLEET with its beautiful ocean beaches, TRURO with its beaches, dunes, and golf course, and PROVINCETOWN with excellent dining, shopping, and whale watching are all between 5 and 20 minutes away.
Cyclists can pedal down the nearby Cape Cod RAIL TRAIL, a 30-mile bike path that meanders by ponds, woodlands, bogs, dunes and finishes in Wellfleet.
Opportunity for all sorts of water activities and we are 5 minutes from the Audobon Nature Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Swim, hike, bike, fish, birdwatching, kayaking or visit one of the many Cape Lighthouses - this vacation home is CLOSE TO IT ALL!
