About Patricia Moore
Hi Guests! This photo is of me (Patricia) with my family boating! We love to get outdoors and we will do just about anything. We all love Washington DC! There is so much to do and as a Washingtonian we just forget how much of it is FREE! There are so many things to do here, it's just impossible to see them all. My favorite is the Hope Diamond located at the Natural History Museum located down on the mall. The Air and Space Museum are probably #1 for the men and boys, but the films are really great and to fly really makes you feel like you are flying. I have lived in and out of Washington DC my entire life with my father's navy career bringing us back and forth. My mother is buried in Arlington Cemetery. The White House is within 15 minutes, Mclean has some of the best schools in the country and I have always felt blessed to have found this home. The front photo of the home is deceiving - the home is really long. This home is a gem with a hidden backyard located within blocks of the grocery, drug store and Starbucks to walk to. We are within a block of the closest bus stop leading directly to the Arlington metro and an 8 minute ride from the W. Falls Church Metro or 5 minute ride to Mclean Metro stop. There are many wonderful restaurants within 10 minutes of the house, big movie cinemas and an awesome tot lot 2 miles away for the little ones. I love sharing this wonderful historic home with others that are coming back to town from overseas or the military in addition to hosting people working in the area. DC, Arlington, McLean, Vienna, Great Falls, Sterling, Herndon, Annandale, Fairfax, Leesburg are all within a short drive of this property. This home was featured in the Washington Post and was picked and moved to this lot from around the block and saved rather than torn down. If you love historic homes, you will love this property!
Patricia Moore purchased this Apartment in 1997
Why Patricia Moore chose West McLean
I enjoy being a 15-20 minute drive to most places in Washington DC area that people really want to work, visit or live. I love being able to get up in the morning before anyone else and walk to Starbucks for my first cup of coffee. The backyard is completely fenced in. It's surrounded by large mature trees and you really get a sense of peace back there. It's wonderful to sit with a cup of tea and just watch the birds at the bird feeder. We see all kinds including cardinals, blue jays wood peckers and doves. I like to drive down the Washington Parkway into Washington DC. The parkway is surrounded by mature trees, the views of DC are spectacular and I will go out of my way to drive along this parkway. It can be followed south all the way to Mount Vernon - George Washington's home along the Potomac. Going across Chain Bridge into Washington DC has my favorite view of the Potomac. There are houses on top of the Virginia side of the bridge many of which are very stately. On the Washington DC side there are wetlands and you can always see a large variety of birds. I love the family room with the views of the backyard. I love to sit in the master bathrooms Jacuzzi with a glass of wine, watch TV, or look in the backyard and unwind. I love the stained trim around all the windows and doors and the old fashioned kitchen with modern appliances. The wisteria off the kitchen is spectacular in April/May and there are always different flowers blooming in the yard. I have big holly trees along the house that look pretty at Christmas and tons of daffodils that come up in the spring. I am glad I don't ever have to worry about my son running around in McLean - it's a really safe neighborhood. It's a GREAT place to visit or live!
What makes this Apartment unique
Sitting in the backyard to unwind and relax is just wonderful. Grab a cup of coffee to wake up, watch the birds and if you need something else the grocery store is just around the block. If you need to get out for a walk, there are many directions to head in: For food lovers try Balducci's on Old Dominion - Really wonderful food including, veggies, meat, bistro meals to go. Just a fun place to go for very high end food! Walk north and you can go to the grocery store, restaurants, drug store or Starbucks. There is a unbelievable tot lot located about 10 minutes from the house on Georgetown Pike. See my map to see where it is. There is also a playground right across the street at the Church. You can also sit out front on the steps leading to the house just to people watch. McLean is a big walking neighborhood and many people walk into the shops daily. This home is right in a suburban neighborhood, but has access to many amenities such as the Raquet Club within 200 feet of the home. The massage's are a wonderful way to relax. If you need help with planning special day trips to the mountains, boating on the Potomac, walking around the monuments, please let me know and I will be happy to help you plan some special time visiting the DC area.

Very Welcoming Home and Host
We recently stayed in this beautiful home just outside Washington DC. Patricia couldn't have been more helpful as we needed a last minute rental due to a cancellation of an earlier property. She made the entire process work smoothly even when I couldn't pay using the Home Away website. The house is comfortable and well furnished, and has everything you might need. It is located in an area where you can walk to restaurants and is a quick Uber ride into DC.
Hi Mary Ann,
Thanks for being so wonderful to work with. I am so glad we were able to help out at the last minute.
The maid said your group left the house perfect!
Please feel free to use me as a reference, I will be happy to help out anytime!
Home away from Home
What a perfect home and location for our stay in DC. We housed 11 perfectly and comfortably. The home is in a safe location with easy access to anything needed and tourist sites. Just a short drive to the metro station and we were off! Patricia had the home very well stocked with linens, soaps in kitchen, bath, and laundry. We had fun grilling hamburgers and cooking dinners in the kitchen. Loved the wood trim and 1920's architecture. The kids (all teens except one 10 year old) had fun playing the abundance of board games available. Patricia was always quick to return calls and just full of helpful info before and during our trip. Always very pleasant to speak with even in my "middle of costumes for a show" crazy state! Would recommend highly! Again, thank you for everything, Patricia!
Relaxing Accommodated Holiday
We stayed in Patricia's rental for the Christmas Holiday. It was an unbelievably relaxed stay. The home was well stocked and had a full range of amentities, was clean and well kept, and made us feel very much at home. We prepared a large family dinner and had all necessary to prepare it smoothly. The beds were comfy and nicely furnished/linened. Both living rooms held large comfy sofas and it was easy for us to lounge and enjoy quality time together! When we decided to visit the city we had a quick walk to the bus located across the street and with just a short ride we were at the metro. Very easy commute and more then convenient! We were thoroughly satisfied with this visit and will be back. I recommend this experience to all!
Heather was a delightful guest and would always be welcome here!
Easy access to sights and suburbs

Just Like Home
We opened the front door and breathed a sigh of relief, we felt like we were at home. It was an extremely comfortable house, it was very clean, the furniture was made up of large sofas that one could sink down into. The dining room table was large enough for a feast. The kitchen was well equipped, and during our stay we made cookies, a cake, a big pot of soup, and some pasta. The master bath was beautiful with it’s soaking tub and double vanity, the claw-foot tub in the other bath was wonderful. This house was perfect for our large family. The neighborhood was safe and so close to shopping and monuments. This house made a perfect home-base for us while we were visiting Washington DC.
Patricia answered all of our questions quickly, professionally, and warmly. She took away much of the stress we’ve experienced while traveling in the past.
Because we treated the house as though it were our own, our full deposit was returned promptly.
Everything was wonderful!
Our large Californian family of 7 just got back from a trip to our nations capitol. We loved everything about this home. We were close enough to DC and historic Arlington that we just hopped on the subway and off we went for the day. The kitchen and living areas are roomy and we loved the large dining room. There was room to spare and the bathrooms and kitchens were up to date on every count. The owner was helpful on all counts and we left feeling as if we really vacationed. Thanks so much.
Located in McLean, VA. A very affluent neighborhood in the DC area. You never know who you will see here at Starbucks. :) The White House and Nation's Capitol offer so many things it is just not possible to list them all. But you can get to the area activities easily, because there is a bus stop directly across the street and will take you to the metro - from there you can go anywhere! The National Arboretum has an awesome pond filled with fish to feed and 200 year old bonsai's. The Mall next to the Capitol Building has the Air and Space Museum, The Natural History Museum (my favorite is the Hope Diamond!), The National Gallery of Art, etc..... Union Station is an amazing beautiful place to shop, eat and see people coming and going. The National Cathedral has 360 degree views from the top and many people miss this. The place is just amazing to see. Old Ebbitt Grill very close to the White House has excellent chile and is one of my favorites for a fancy dinner.
