About Kathy Bryan
I grew up just 2 miles from walnut cove on another farm owned by my parents. Walnut cove was my grandfather's farm where I enjoy many special memories. Due to life's circumstances I am now living in Texas working as a project controls specialist in an engineering firm, but my heart remains at Walnut Cove. I plan to move back home as soon as life allows.
Kathy Bryan purchased this Estate in 1940
Why Kathy Bryan chose Rock Cave
My grandparents purchased the property in 1940 and built the dairy barn and house by their own hand. They operated a dairy on the farm until approximately 1970, raising 4 children including my father along the way. After my grandmother's passing in 1976, my father helped my grandfather farm then land as well as his own farm a couple miles away where I grew up. IN 2004 I was lucky enough to call the farm my own. We remodeled the house, adding hardwoods harvested from the property. The kitchen cabinets and stair railings were crafted by my father. Unfortunately we were forced to leave the state for employment, so we now offer Walnut Cove as a vacation home, and enjoy trips back as often as possible.

April getaway in Rock Cave
Beautiful home. Perfect place to meet up with my brothers and their wives, since we all live in different states.
only happy memories
it was a great family vacation in a very clean and beautiful house. the property is amazing and the owner wonderful. we hope to be back soon
A wonderful experience!
Our family has rented this delightful country home for the last 3 years and each time we wish it could be for longer than just a long weekend. We have a cousins reunion in Rock Cave at a site close by and this home offers perfect accommodations for our family. This year we flew kites on the wonderful hill behind the house. Hosted a birthday dinner with a couple of cousins from far away. Love those rockers and what a treat to wake up to deer grazing in the back meadow. We are looking forward to staying a whole week or month when we retire. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful home.
A great getaway, in the peaceful countryside.
At our arrival, we were a little worried as the landscaping was a little overgrown and the house was stale from being closed, but after a few hours we felt right at home. The kitchen is nicely equipped and there was plenty of space for the 9 of us. As there were four generations on our trip, my 88 year old grandmother liked the first floor bedroom and bath. My kids enjoyed the sandbox and swing set, as well as our family dinners together in the dining room. The house was very clean, and the use of a washer and dryer was appreciated. Also, the game room was stocked with games for all ages. We visited nearby Audra State Park, Holly River State Park, and Stonewall Jackson Lake. We also enjoyed playing cornhole in the large yard, using my uncle's boards. In the evenings, great conversations happened on the front porch and lifetime memories were made. I would recommend this house to any large group. There is a dollar store and a small grocery store only a few miles away. Unfortunately, the pond was overgrown so we couldn't use the fishing poles, but we did make use of the little library for nighttime readings. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and to just slow down and enjoy the ones you love!
This place was great! We had an amazing time and the dogs loved running through the grass and enjoying the property. The house is a nice size but was homey enough we didn't feel uncomfortable with just the two of us and two dogs. We would definitely come back.
What a wonderful get a way!
Our family had a fabulous time at this country home nestled in the backwoods of West Virginia. It was the perfect place to get away from the world and unwind with our entire family. We had ten of us, my husband and myself, along with our four adult children and their spouses. We also brought along two dogs and they ran all over the property wearing each other out. We were able to have camp fires every evening, enjoy a game of pool, play cards and games, and eat to our hearts content! This is a perfect place for a family get a way if you are seeking some rest and relaxation and time to unplug from the world!
