This is a luxurious large two story home built in 2008! All the amenities of home plus more. Great natural light with many windows and with air conditioning and ceiling fans in each room as well as the lanai. The wide pristine white sand swimming or surfing beach is 600 feet from the front door! There is also a fresh water estuary 800 feet in the other direction. Bring a fishing rod and you might just catch dinner.
Playa Grande is the beach that is home to the giant Leather back Turtle and adjacent to Las Baulas National Park.
Only 15 minutes to Tamarindo yet in a totally different world. Peace, tranquility, security - and a perfect spot for a romantic getaway or a fun filled family vacation.
We have baby sitters, personal chefs and surf instructors available to make your stay a stress free and active vacation.
Sipping your fresh Costa Rican coffee while sitting on the lanai you can hear the Howler Monkeys greeting you as you look out to the lush trees that surround the property.
Playa Grande is what the Costa Rican experience is all about!

I purchased my first home in Costa Rica in 1998 and now consider it my home away from home. I love the people weather and local culture. When there I forget about all the craziness of the US! I love to help people with trip planning and giving information about Costa Rica.
I plan to retire here someday
Just relaxing, sunning and getting away from it all.
Great place. Luxury home with great location. Next to the best beach I have ever been to. Freda, Tom and Melena made me feel like I was home! Definitely come back again
yet close to everything you could want in Costa Rica. My wife and I have been travelling to Costa Rica frequently over the past 15 years, always in Guanacaste from Tamarindo to Playa Del Coco and this was the best location yet. Close to the bustling Tamarindo beach for world-class fishing and the beachy night life, but far enough (just a few minute drive though) to feel away from it all in this Playa Grande villa. Its location is quiet, within a gated, small enclave and its own less populated, even secluded, beaches and business district (meaning a store or two for anything you'd need, good restaurants and beach/surf shops). Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family jaunt; it'll fit the bill for either.
Richard is as prompt and easy to deal with as any owner you'll deal with and he/his team are wonderfully helpful with trip planning.
You can rent bikes, boards or horses within walking distance and there's never much traffic - another big plus as opposed to Tamarindo, if that matters to you. We also tried the in-villa chef visit with "Ander" (ask your concierge) and it was a fabulous experience with amazing food - lobster bisque and swordfish with a bacon wrap over risotto... it rivals a higher-end, big city fine dining experience, presentation included... but cozier. Great service and when they're done, you wont see a sign they were even there!! They clean everything, put away left overs and you do nothing but enjoy the dinner - I had them deliver a local flower arrangement too - this is one time, you wont know you're in a third world country - excellent experience!
The Villa is more than enough for a couple with plenty of space to spare and would be great for a family too giving everyone plenty of room to spread out and relax. The fully stocked kitchen has all the features you'd want and like all of the rooms, plenty of beautiful wood cabinetry to hide away all your stuff. Large bedrooms throughout with a beautiful master and accompanying well-sized master bath. Everything is super clean and the management service is readily available with just a phone call. Ceiling fans and cool air moving well throughout the villa after a hot day on the ocean or beach with air conditioning units in each room (important for us as we keep it pretty cool).
Overall, very serene location, beautiful, secure and private villa just a short walk from pristine beach, and laid back atmosphere all over town... Pura Vida awaits you @ Richard's Playa Grande Villa.
My best friend and I are in the middle of a year long rental here. We couldn't be happier. A short walk to the most amazing beach, sunsets and waves are just the beginning. The yard is lovingly maintained, the pool is magnificent, and the community complex is safe and private.
Inside are 3 comfortable bedrooms (queen, king, 2 single beds), each with their own bath. The beds are comfortable and there are great closets for keeping your stuff organized. The kitchen takes the ultimate prize in my opinion. It has the smartest microwave I've ever seen. There is a "reheat" button that just knows what to do.
The house is just built so smartly. The tile floors help keep everything cool and easy to clean. The new flat screen TV in the downstairs living area is great for a good movie, or even watching the news from the kitchen. The laundry machines work great, so don't over pack.
For a home base while traveling to Costa Rica, this is the perfect spot to compliment your Pura Vida experience!!
Stayed for 2 weeks with my 3 teens and my husbands parents. PERFECT! Modern! We took the second level and everyone had their own space, even my only daughter had a her own bed and area (the sitting room upstairs). My in-laws had the main floor so they had their own bathroom and could get up earlier.... There are 3 bathrooms with lots of hot water pressure. The master suite bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in my life. Very clean and everything you need. Even have the option to have groceries delivered before you get there. This is a very safe place to stay. Owner was helpful and all payments directly were fine. He has an agency that looks after the cleaning and maintenance while you are there.
Make sure you book surf lessons and rentals with Frijoles Locos Surf (super close) great service!
Also worth every penny excursions even if you only do 1 thing, do this! (book early): Javier (bi-lingual) lovingcostarica.com
A few minor comments to make 110%: a table and chairs on the upstairs balcony would be nice to enjoy the nights. Provided lawn chairs and enough towels for sleeping max to take to the beach should also be provided as there are no chairs at the beach.
NOTE: You need to rent a car for this location. We used a mini SUV from Vamos from the Liberia airport which was great and provided a complimentary emergency cell phone. Strapped luggage to the top and could fit all 7 of us comfortably and reasonably priced. Remember this is a developing country, wi-fi and power is not always running during wind storms. Roads were in good condition. No mosquitos except when we went on the Palo Verde tour (where I got 60 bites without feeling them until after...)
You will love this place.
Also we had to use the emergency clinic close by (there are 2, one is 24hr but they are connected) for an unexpected kidney stone and the service was amazing AND in English.
My wife, five year old daughter and I spent twelve days at this villa and it was fantastic. The villa is clean, quiet and secure. All the windows and doors seal tightly keeping out the bugs which made my wife very happy! The master bed was incredibly comfortable, something you don't encounter very often down there. The beach is literally a two minute walk. It is perfect for young kids and has consistently great waves. The pool is clean and shaded during the mid day which is great for catching a break from the rays. This was our sixteenth vacation to Costa Rica and this villa is an absolute gem. We'll definitely be back next year!
We rented the villa for 11 days in April 2013. The house is fantastic! It is new, clean, and very comfortable. It is fully furnished with nice upscale finishing. The kitchen is equipped with almost everything we needed during the stay, even blender. There is plenty of towels in the closets. The pool is just a few steps from the front door. The condo is located in a gated community along a paved road, which is important, and very secure. It was exactly what we were looking for. The beach is long and secluded, many times we had it for ourselves. We made a couple of road trips to some adventurous places for zip lines, horse riding and hot spring, boat tours, and rafting. Rio Perdido, Hacienda El Viejo, Hacienda Guachipelin are among our favorites. They all were worthy the money and time to get there. We were pleased by Costa Rica's hospitality, especially when it was our first time to the country. We would recommend the condo to friends and will definitely be back!
This is a very safe, well equipped condo with nice furnishings, linens and plenty of room for the eight people in our family. The location is near several very nice restaurants, the best beach ever and close to a town with a very good grocery. The owner , Richard, and the caretaker. Freda, responded to all of our questions and helped us with any requests, tours etc. We especially enjoyed Pueblo Cafe, MarBar and Ripjacks. Hope to come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo .
