About Daniel Jeffers
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, grew up in Ohio, came to Honolulu in 1973 to attend the University of Hawaii, and then made Honolulu my home. I lived in these rentals with my daughter while she was teenager until she went away to college. My wife, Irene, who owned a commercial vacation-rental cleaning business in Kauai for 13 years, has set the standard for our cleaner for cleaning these units. When not rented to our guests, we enjoy staying in them whenever we can.
Daniel Jeffers purchased this Condo in 2003
Why Daniel Jeffers chose Waikiki

Awesome view, central location, clean & well-furnished
These are great accommodations if the beach isn't your primary focus on Oahu (although it is within a short walk). We loved the view and penthouse feel. Location is central; bus stops are very close to condo and within walking distance of many great restaurants, bars, convenience stores. The neighborhood is good, we felt very safe walking at night. We rented both studios, which gave us sufficient room to spread out and offered night privacy; plus 2 bathrooms then! We opted to eat our meals out, but the kitchen has every appliance needed for normal cooking. We didn't use the pool or laundry, but both were clean and easily accessible. The studios were very clean, lots of towels provided and we noticed many extras in the closet -- stroller, laundry basket, portable crib -- so the owner tries to accommodate many people. The owner is easy to work with and will accommodate early/late check-ins/outs. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Oahu.
Overall: Very good. Worth the price, relative to 2 hotel rooms. Near all of Waikiki.
5 stars for what was promised. Good basic lodging (a place to sleep and shower) for four to six people. Kitchen will allow simple meals. Not expensive (relative to elegant locations or two hotel rooms). Not really two bedrooms, more like a bedroom and a studio (i.e., a bed in the living room in addition to beds in the one bedroom). All Waikiki beaches within walking distance (20 to 30 minutes). Good restaurants within one block. Everything worked. Helpful owner. The view is fine from the 34th floor. Diamond Head can be seen. I count this place as a very good find.
Close to everything
Close to everything. Owners so nice
I absolutely loved the location the views were fabulous, the two different rooms that gave us privacy but also not separated, being able to grill, swim and lounge in the hot tub. There was a bar in the lower level that had great people in it. Small eateries in the lobby. Beach within in a 10 minute walk. I would absolutely stay there again.
Needs TLC and better housekeeping
As the rooms were conveniently located, it was not a place to spend any extra time at.
It should not be advertised as "2 bedrooms", but a one bedroom and a studio suite with a kitchen.
The tub needs to be re-calked as it and the shower curtain had mold on them.
When we arrived the parking attendant handed us a bag, given to her from housekeeping, with a roll of toilet paper and said if we needed more we would need to go to the store.
One key out of the 4 was scratched badly and wouldn't work at all.
5 of the floors in the building were being fumigated as I suspect the 34th would be as well, there were small ant like bugs crawling on the counter. I was not surprised there were bugs as we had to wash many of the dishes before using them.
After a 5 night stay I stripped the bed before vacating and I was horrified to see multiple stains on the mattress cover from the previous occupants.
I would not recommend this VRBO to anyone!
Please note: my only bad review ever, and to counter each of this reviewer's points: This is NOT advertised as a 2-bedroom. The ad description clearly says it is "adjoining studios". OK, the tub needs to be re-caulked, and there was mold on the shower curtain.... my cleaner explained that she had just noticed it, too, and was in the process of replacing it before the next guest. Not sure what the problem was with the check-in procedure (the "bag with a roll of toilet paper")... again not my standard procedure, but not something which makes the rental a problem. The small ants are a building wide problem, but they do NOT get into food or dishware, and I assure all that the dishes are well washed for each new guest. The Building has been working on the ant problem for over a year. They are NOT a major bother. Typically, we replace mattress pads when they are stained, but occasionally a stained one (which is still clean) is used until a new one can be obtained.
