Casita Piedras Vistas, a new sunny flat in the historic centro of San Miguel will charm you.

Panoramic views of the old church tops around the central square and the countryside are especially rich at sunset. Located in the very safe oldest part of town, a warren of narrow cobblestone streets. Walk only 4 1/2 blocks from the main square or 'jardin' as the locals call it, and the Instituto Allende and the Plaza Civica with its open air artesian and vegetable markets are also only 4 blocks away.

Private entrance on a quiet cobblestoned street. You will enjoy the modern Mexican tiled, full kitchen with French doors open to the view. The garden rooftop vistas are breathtaking in all directions, with a private eating area and chaise lounge and a shared gazebo with table for dining or wireless internet use.

Gas fireplaces in living room and bedroom provide warmth. Maid and garden service provided. Within a block you will find several Mexican mini groceries, vegetable markets and the friendly oldest cantina in town.

It is also a short walk to the Jardin Botanico canyon and nature preserve, the beautiful Parque Juarez, and 1 block to the Casa de Cultura. You won't want to leave this beautiful place.

We live in Olympia, Washington, but we lived with our youngest son in San Miguel for a year in 2008/2009. Our son went to a Mexican school for his 8th grade year.

We purchased this casita for its easy access the rich culture of San Miguel, the friendliness of the people and the opportunity to be part of this unique community.

What makes this apartment unique

We especially enjoy the nightly sunsets over the sierra from the french door windows in the kitchen/dining room. We enjoy being close to the central square, the open market, the Institute Allende and language schools. We enjoy moutain biking with the 'Bici-Burro' bike shop just two blocks away.

We loved Day of the Dead in San Miguel. It was sunny and warm. There were so many parades and so much art. The casita had beautiful views of the sunsets and the fireworks at night. We loved the friendly old bar, El Manantial, just around th corner.

High, cool and comfy

This apartment is on the third floor and normally I would not even attempt such a thing. But I figured ok, try it, even with my knees which are sometimes challenged. But it was a great, airy one bedroom...just what I needed. The cross ventilation and cool nights were perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very nice. The whole place is very clean and the cleaner who came twice in the week I was there was friendly and did a very good job and was very helpful with laundry. Downside: San Miguel is on the side of a mountain and the cobblestone streets and narrow sidewalks can be a challenge but if you've done your research you know what you're getting into. The people I met along the way were cordial. I even lost weight because I walked every where and only restored to the easy to get and use taxis three times the whole week. The apartment is at the bottom of a very narrow street so it is not a real challenge and it is indeed close to the center (the Jardin Allende). I enjoyed my stay.

great price, perfect location and the terrace for morning and evening enjoyment was "tops"!!

First, let me say that when we return to SMA it will be in Apt. 3 (top apt) of Gordon and Meg's lovely "home" away from home. The BdRm was large with a view of the city. All the comforts were afforded us including a very well stocked kitchen.

The location was in walking distance to "Everything and everywhere".

The top outside terrace had a fantastic view of the city and many of its beautiful churches and of giant air balloons floating gracefully over the city early every morning with the sun catching their beautiful bright multicolored markings. In the late afternoon it was a perfect place to chill out with a Ginger Margarita and watch the sun descend behind our location.

Great place

The apartment was great!

Clean and neat, it had everything.

Location was fine for me but for older folks it may be a bit far form centro.

Taxis are cheap and easy to get.

I would love to return!

Great location

We had a great stay at this casita. It was comfortable with a nice view and lots of afternoon sun. The location was perfect and only a 10 minute walk to the Jardin or in the other direction to the Parque Juarez. The rooftop patio was a highlight with a lovely view over the town.

A great place to stay in SMA

It was our third trip to San Miguel de Allende. We choose the area of Chorro because of its vicinity and easy accessibility to downtown. The apartment where we stayed this time for almost six weeks was so far the best place we had during our vacations in SMA. Besides of the location it has great features which make life easy: the well equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, the washer/dryer, the well working internet and the TV with a DVD. The queen size bed is comfortable. It is suitable for a longer time to stay for two people. The apartment is well kept and clean, the house cleaner service perfect. It has a great roof top terrace offering spectacular views of sunsets and over the city, only one flight up from the apartment. The house is in rather quiet neighborhood. Sleeping is never a problem, even the cars passing on Pedras Chinas sometimes may be a bit annoying. The walk to downtown is an easy 10 minutes. Back up might be a bit more strenuous, but there are inexpensive taxis. The people in the neighborhood are friendly and there are little stores offering the basics for the daily life for little money. The description on VRBO is accurate, there were no surprises. I only can recommend this apartment. We will rent it again on our next trip to SMA.

Great place to stay!!

I stayed at Megan and Gordon's for 3 weeks and really liked it. It has all of the comforts of home, is nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed. It is located in a great area of San Miguel, on a very quaint and narrow cobblestone street. You can walk to the Centro in about 10 minutes and the Park is just a few minutes walk away. Megan and Gordon were very helpful with everything I needed. Would recommend it, and also would stay here again!!
