About Neal Anderson
Our family has loved summers here since 1952. The grandkids are all too far away, so we want others to enjoy it now. It is a year-round home.
Neal Anderson purchased this House in 1951
Why Neal Anderson chose Browns Lake
My dad built it by hand in 1951-52. I remember carrying one cement block at a time (very slowly).
What makes this House unique
The view over the lake is always there, even in a storm (which I like best). The still water in the morning is the perfect time for a paddle boat or canoe ride.

The setting was delightful. The house was not very clean though. But lake view made up for that.
Pretty setting. Nice and quiet. The decor was very old and the house was not very clean. I enjoyed my stay though, because I was so close to Burlington and I was on the lake.
Less than clean, poor WiFi, unreliable cable service, tiniest possible guest bathroom, quite pricey for what you get. No rowboat as advertised, pedal boat practically unusable.
On the upside, a decent cottage with great views of the lake. Convenient to Chicago and Milwaukee.
A week in Wisconsin
Property was as advertised. Everything was clean and ready roll go. No issues with any of the facilities. Very enjoyable week.
This was our 2nd stay at this home. My children asked if we were going to stay here again when I started making arrangements. They remembered the previous good times. We had a wonderful time again and enjoyed the accommodations. My family and I loved the awesome view looking out the living room window. My children took advantage of the boats and fishing. It is great having 2 bathrooms and washer/dryer when vacationing with a family. We had everything we needed and a grocery store and town is close by for convenience. It was a relaxing get away. Thank you again!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, which is really a very cozy home and fully equipped. The owners are very accommodating and helpful, and the price is excellent for the area. The lake was perfect just like the weather for our ten day stay. Fishing was a bit slow, but it was still fun to be out in the boat provided or to just sit on the pier to fish. Having two grills to choose from was an extra plus. Burlington is a very nice town, quite scenic, with a lot to offer, or you can just relax & enjoy the cottage. We did bicycle the Seven Waters bike trail down the street from Riverside Park, which is a free and very peaceful activity. Thank you again Neal and Marilyn, for providing this homey retreat. We hope to return again in the future to enjoy another "quiet time" on Brown's Lake!
Home on the Lake
The weather took an unexpected turn to cold and rainy that week-end. Despite the weather we did enjoy ourselves. Lake Geneva was close by and we went for the Taste of Lake Geneva and did some shopping and wondering around some great stores. We were not able to use the row boat because it had water in it and the canoe was put away in the garage. We did use the paddle boat - but do not paddle backwards or the chain will fall off.
