About David Cooper

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a retired career military officer originally from Austin, Texas and finished my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!

David Cooper purchased this house in 2006

Why David Cooper chose District of Columbia (Washington DC)

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!

What makes this house unique

No expense was spared in remodeling and furnishing this house. You will be staying in an historic home complete with modern amenities. Location-wise, everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) is within 2 blocks and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Smithsonian museums) is just a few blocks further and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!

Wonderful Capitol Hill Location

Loved our stay in D.C. Great neighborhood close to transportation, even close enough to walk to the grocery store just a couple of blocks away. Would definitely stay here for any future trips to D.C..

We loved the house and location. The house was very well maintained and we found it had everything we needed. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. Location was very central and close to sights. We did rent a car so the fact that the house has a garage is a real plus. Parking was never a worry. Great property and highly recommended.

Our delightful sojourn in your Capital Hill town home.

  • 5 of 5

We four women from our high school class of 1963 celebrate our continued friendship by traveling to various cities in the US. We chose Washington, DC as our destination this year.

Our adventure was complete as we stayed five nights at your lovely town house. The location was perfect for our numerous activities. The quiet and quaint neighborhood was welcoming as we returned from our full days. To the deck we would gather with glasses raised high celebrating yet another stellar day in DC.

Thank you for your grand hospitality, David.

Cherry blossoms in DC with the Family

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful long weekend in DC. The Row house was a short walk to union station, where we used the hop on hop off buses. What a great time saver. The house was clean, all queen beds made it comfortable for not only my husband and I in the master but our married children as well. Two and a half baths were great for a party of 6. We like to take advantage of having a kitchen, cooked breakfast and dinner every day. The kitchen was missing some basic items, but I let David know so he can replace them. The very long dinning table was great for dinner and gaming. We also enjoyed the deck above the garage. Two markets close by for food etc. We were also able to park two vehicles in the garage.

Very nice neighborhood. There are some restaurants within walking distance with outdoor dinning we went to for drinks in the evening.

Would definitely come back!

Awesome location

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing trip for spring break. The house was in a perfect location. Walk out to the left and there's a cute coffee shop down a few blocks and a grocery store but bring your own bags because they charge you if you don't have them. There is also a train station around the corner, if you go to the right there's a little market and there is a park as well. Overall, we had a great time the house was perfect. We had a small AC problem but it was fixed immediately. Thank you so much for sharing your home.
