Beautiful Lake Seed is between Lake Rabun and Lake Burton. There is no marina on Seed which makes for a very quiet and peaceful environment. From the sun porch, enjoy watching the mist lift from the lake and rise to the mountains in the background. You have a choice of outdoor areas on both levels where you can sun, swing, eat or just relax and enjoy the scenery.
There are living areas on two levels so there will be no fights over the remote!! A beautiful well equipped kitchen with granite countertops will delight the cook in your group. It is a part of the great room so the cook will not be left out of the party. The entire house is beautifully furnished with antiques and 'found treasures' but very comfortable and family friendly.
A master bedroom with a queen bed and en suite bath and a king bedroom with bath in the hall are on the main floor. Downstairs is another queen bedroom with en suite bath. A new room has been added with a queen bed and two bunk beds. A Jack and Jill bath with 2 shower/tubs. 2 toilets and a double sink connects to the new room. There is a TV room between the two bedrooms which opens on to the downsstairs deck and the path to the lake.
When is the best time to visit Lake Seed? Anytime! Enjoy the swimming and boating activities in the summer; the native azaleas, rhododendron, mountain laurel are the attractions in the spring; the fall color seen from the sun porch in the fall is unsurpassed; and, the stillness, wood fires, and solitude of winter is the best time to relax and renew.
Wonderful hikes, beautiful waterfalls and views are available year round. So come see why we all love 'going to Seed'.

The house was purchased in 1998 when all three of my children lived in Atlanta, and I lived in Birmingham. We wanted a place to meet and wind down after the work week. Since then, all three have married, had children and moved from Atlanta, and I moved to NE Florida. We still get together at the lake , but not as often as we used to. For that reason, I decided to share our retreat with others via VRBO. It is is a special spot and now loved by my six grandchildren as well as our renters.
Barbara Major purchased this house in 1998
After looking at multiple homes on all of the Georgia Power lakes in Rabun County, we this house really stood out from the rest. Many lots in the area are very steep and docks are quite a hike from the house. Our dock is easily and quickly accessed, and the slope is gentle! This house has beautiful features like granite countertops throughout, modern appliances and all rooms are well appointed. In addition, we loved the size of the lake as there was no marina and moderate boat traffic. The house is in a small slough which is great for swimmers. From the house, the view of the lake is wonderful, and the large lot was left natural with large trees, rhododendron and mountain laurel. Sitting in the sunroom is like sitting in a tree house. We could not resist this special house, lot and location. It turned out to be even better than we thought!
Getting there is a bit of an adventure, but the house is spacious, well kept, well equipped and beautifully located in a secluded cove. We enjoyed staying here and the host is very responsive.
4 couple friends gathered together in this amazing home to celebrate New Years. What an outstanding place!!! This home is very "high end", immaculate, well built, well designed and furnished to the "10". There was much talk of returning.
The house was great and had everything we needed. The view from the living room and sun room of the lake we enjoyed. Everything was in good condition as stated.
Only problem was the dirt road that lead to the house was 3 miles long and took about 12 minutes to get to the house.
What an amazing property, we we fell in love with the area and the home was HUGE! So much space! The views are gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Large family space accommodating multi-generation gathering. Private space with bedrooms and each having own bathroom. Great kitchen and dining space. Loved the sun room overlooking the lake. Go in prepared to stay--long way to grocery. Only other concern was having to take away your own trash to county facility--glad we had tarp and boxes to load trash in our car. Overall fantastic place for any family gathering. We hope to visit again soon.
The house was lovely and so comfortable. It is more spacious than the pictures show. The lake was not super busy and this was Labor day weekend! We will definitely be renting this home again-the owners were wonderful to work with.
