About Sherry

Hello! I fell in love with the Pink House the moment I saw it in 2002...it has such inviting and happy energy! I live and work in this lovely place as a Certified Mediator, Reiki Master and Heart Centered Therapy practitioner. I have two grown independent bright curious bi-lingual daughters ...one is a feisty organic gardener, anthropologist and teacher at a local college here in the valley and the other practices fast passed yoga, collaborative business law and enjoys long distance running with her hubby in Atlanta! One of my favorite things is exchanging ideas and learning from our interesting global guests! Favorite on-going activities: NIA dance, long road bike rides, Boise foothills hikes and growing our gardens!

Like you, I'm a curious world traveler and am drawn to staying in small guest houses, B&Bs, hostels, small furnished apartments ... and tents! I've recently realized one of my dreams which was to crew on a sailboat - have been on 2 sailing trips since Sept 2015. I have not yet stayed in a tree house - that will be SOON :). The Boise area is my home base and I am happy to share info on hiking and biking trails, favorite restaurants, small ghost towns, favorite outdoor music venues, local wineries. I look forward to welcoming you soon! ~Sherry

What makes this apartment unique

Getting to know other international and interesting guests. We all love our big shade trees, fruit trees, ivy on the house, blackberries, mint, gardens and squirrels! All the sitting areas around the yard. Pink House potlucks during nice weather. Walking to Saturday Market, Downtown shopping, restaurants, coffee houses, Boise Co-op, YMCA, Theaters...all within 3 to 6 blocks :) ...and of course hiking and riding the foothill trails as well as biking the Greenbelt! We are Blessed!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Sherry, We were so blessed to be able to have a whole month in the Pink House Loft! The location was perfect for us - we had a routine in the mornings of walking to town to grab a cup of coffee then a beautiful walk...always discovering some where new. We loved being so close to so many events and AMAZING restaurants. Thank you - we love Boise and will definitely return. You are so sweet and a gracious host! Love, Jill and Bill

Wonderful accommodation!!!

  • 5 of 5

My partner, his parents and mine stayed in Pink House during the month of July and August 2016, and everything was great. We took three apartments: "The Basque Loft", "The Balcony" and "The Carriage House". All three were fully well equipped and were very quiet and comfortable. We love walking in the town and without no doubt, Pink House was our best option since it is 5 minutes from downtown Boise. "The Carriage House" was a little larger than the others and totally independent from the rest of the house. We enjoyed the terrace in the garden having breakfast, lunch and dinner together, being able to celebrate unforgettable evenings as well as the wonderful evening diner prepared by Sherry!! Certainly, the best thing about the accommodation was Sherry, the mistress of the house. A lovely woman, very friendly, communicative (thanks for your patience with our English!! ), who helped us in everything and worried that everything was perfect. We will never forget those days in Boise Sherry! We will be back! Thank you very much for everything! Kisses from your Basque family!!!! (Ramon, Rosa, Fernando, Coro, Jaso, Nahia and Fer) from San Sebastian, Europe.

Love The Pink House

  • 5 of 5

We have enjoyed several stays at The Pink House over the years. We have been delighted with the accommodations in both The Carriage House and The Cottage.

Sherry has always been most responsive to our needs.

We are walkers and the Pink House offers beautiful downtown and street walking. It is also close to hiking in the Boise Hills

It has worked well for us as it is close to our family and the vibrant downtown area.

We would highly recommend The Pink House to anyone looking for a nicely decorated and comfortable place to stay. Sherry's personal touch and the cozy atmosphere will make your stay a most pleasant experience. We guarantee, you will want to return.

A lovely 3 month stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in the Retro Room for 3 months while working as a travel nurse in Boise. From the moment I entered the apartment I felt delightfully at home. Sherry has done a wonderful job decorating and furnishing the apartments. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and even a few pantry items, the bathroom had some necessities, and the furniture was all comfortable and stylish. The house is older, and has the personality and charm that goes with the age. While my room didn't have it's own patio, I enjoyed reading and relaxing on the chairs in the front yard and back patio. There are even pear trees that Sherry will let you take from! Sherry herself is the epitome of a charming host-- I enjoyed getting to know her and the other guests. Having the them around felt like a little community or extended family. The location is a few minutes walk from downtown, I was able to walk or bike to work, the grocery store, bars, restaurants...basically anything I needed.

I can't say enough nice things about The Pink Guest House! I loved it.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My son and I moved to Boise in March 2015 and we stayed at the Pink House for 4 months and loved it! What a great location just blocks from downtown. And the house itself is really unique - each room has it's own personality. We stayed in the Basque Loft, which was perfect for the two of us. Clean, eclectic, comfortable, and Sherry made sure we had everything we needed to feel like home.

Stayed here for the summer while working in Boise. Retro room was perfect! Everything is clean, well-maintained, and perfectly located just 3 blocks from downtown core. Sherry is an excellent host and available for whatever you need (tips on places to eat, hikes, activities). She also hosted a BBQ one Sunday evening for guests and it was a blast. Highly recommend The Pink Guest House whether you are coming to Boise for a week or several months.
