The location was private with awesome views from the back veranda as well as the various covered decks off the bedrooms. The layout was perfect for each couple to enjoy our privacy while providing social time in the shared kitchen, dining and living areas.
We found everything functional and the kitchen well equipped for our cooking/dining needs. The only suggestion we would offer would be to upgrade the size of the main living area television and consider adding televisions to the two upstairs bedroom suites.
The local towns of El Coco, Playa Panama and Playa Hermosa offered convenient grocery shopping and dining to fit most everyone's tastes and budgets. We found the Abbocato restaurant in Playa Panama to be of an exceptional dining experience.
Beautiful House, Amazing Views...Felt like Home
Four couples (approx ages 60-70) were on this trip & the house was chosen by one individual with approval from the rest. As we all know, the very best pictures are in the ad for the house & they were pretty accurate. There were little things that needed updating but we know going into a rental house, other visitors may not take care of the house like we would.
Pros: The house is huge & well decorated. The outdoor space is unbelievable with a view you never get tired of looking at. It's in a gated community & the house itself is also gated. We all felt safe and secure. The location of the house with proximity to stores, beaches, & other tourist attractions is perfect & it's about 30 minutes to the airport. The open concept of the house makes it comfortable for many people. The landscaping is tropical & well maintained. Beach towels were provided & they were plentiful. Having a washer / dryer was also a plus. We would all stay here again without hesitation.
Cons: Bugs. We were told that they spray once a month but since we were there during the dry season, our outdoor friends were looking for cooler accommodations, food & water. The water in CR is hard & some attention to the shower heads & faucets is a must. They are very corroded & very little spray comes out. The soap dispenser by the kitchen sink is broke & kept falling off. Several of us are cooks / bakers & the utensils are basic & all the knives are very dull. When we went to the store I picked up a couple of utensils I needed & left them there. Weatherstripping should be added to all exteriors doors because bugs come through the gaps. Various throw rugs in the house are very worn & appeared to be dirty. Curtains in one bathroom had holes. Another bathroom had various small brown stains on the wall.
Finally: We'd stay here again. Some minor & inexpensive updates (throw rugs, new curtains, paint) would put this amazing house in perfect shape.
The caretakers live in a small house on the property & were quick to respond to one request.
One night we hired a chef to prepare our dinner & it was outstanding in taste & presentation. We had no issues with communication anywhere. The local people were VERY friendly & helpful.
If you need some downtime, amazing views, friendly people, & a fabulous place to share with family / friends, we all highly recommend Dos Vistas...you will not be disappointed.

Incredibly beautiful views in a large and lovely Playa Hermosa home
We could not have been happier with our views and the amount of space we had in this beautiful gated community home. The owners are dividing the largest master to create a 5th bedroom which was not available at the time we were there, but that was not a problem and the master is still quite large. We were entertained by the birds and butterflies regularly drinking from the pool and large iguanas sunning on the deck. We even had a coati visit the yard. The house is not within easy walking distance of the beach, as it is about a mile away and up a very steep incline, but the location is nice and we enjoyed the quiet beaches at Playa Hermosa and Ocotal and Panama for swimming, sailing, snorkeling and fishing. We were less fond of the busy Del Coco Playa, but the town provided a good place for buying groceries. We did walk/run in the neighborhood daily and got a workout from the steep roads. We cooked several meals in the house and also brought a chef in to cook one night. (We highly recommend the personal chef option. We had an incredible meal for 4 for less than $40 per person.). We are giving a 4 star rating rather than 5 because of some disappointment in kitchen supplies and appliances. There was no dish washing detergent, very few glasses, and only a half of teaspoon of salt, no pepper or other seasonings or staples and overall pots and pans were of a much lesser quality than we'd normally use - as in much scuffed non-stick aluminum pots and pans, a blender that struggled to blend mangos and bananas and dusty placemats. However, the house is lovely, the location and price is good and the people attending were excellent.
Thank you for staying with us. The iguanas are quite something! The fauna is spectacular here and never disappoints. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about the household items that are not up to snuff. The owners have already acquired new high end kitchenware which is unavailable locally. Thank you for the kind words with our chef service. It is a wonderful amenity that our future guests should be taking available of.
If you would like to visit again, please let us know and we will extend you a great rate!

Extremely quiet and secluded while still within minutes from Playa Hermosa shops and restaurants. Plenty of amenities and the house is overall spacious.
Great view and privacy. Friendly staff.
Wonderful experience makes us want to buy a place in the area
We so enjoyed having you and your family. I hope your stay in Arenal is going great. This is a wonderful area to live, with the international airport so close, the hospital, ands all of the great restaurants. We hope to see you again, either staying with us or as our neighbor!

Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Dos Vistas is a beautiful property. The view from this property is amazing! Loved the infinity pool. The home is well maintained inside and out. Enjoyed our stay at this home.
Explored by horseback, foot, kayak or SUP, all trails lead to waterfalls, misty crater lakes or jungle-fringed, deserted beaches… Try zip lining, canopy tours, hiking, and surfing. Costa Rica’s adventures are all top notch and are all waiting for you. Playa Hermosa, Playa Panama, And Playas Del Coco are great places to be based out of. Playa Hermosa has one of the safest and calmest beaches in Costa Rica. In these beach towns, you will find and ample amount of restaurants and sodas plus grocery store’s and a few pharmacies. A soda is a small Costa Rican family run restaurant with fresh home cooked food at reasonable prices. South of Playas Del Coco there are some wonderful beaches to explore for day trips. Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, Playa Portrero, and Playa Dante are favorites. Tamarindo and Playa Grand are about 1.5 hours south. These two beaches are wonderful for surfing. A bit further afield is the Arenal La Fortuna area. It is about a three hour drive Playa Hermosa. At 5,437 feet, the Arenal Volcano looms large and ominous over the pastured green hillsides that surround its base. Although currently in a resting phase, Arenal remained the country’s most active volcano for the past 43 years. Simply put, Arenal is striking. It is a picture-perfect volcano which dominates the horizon, while rivers and waterfalls tumble through the rainforest that spreads across its base. To the south, the massive Lake Arenal stands sentry to the Tilarán Mountain Range, whose jagged green spine extends along Costa Rica’s central highlands. From Arenal you can travel to the cloud forest of Monteverde – a nature lover's paradise. The town of Monteverde is fairly small with shopping and some great restaurants Enjoy a nature hike in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve then opt to visit a butterfly garden, zipline through the canopy, or go horseback riding. Take advantage from our local concierge’s knowledge of the country and come soak up the sun. What are you waiting for?
