"Enjoyed my week on the river *so* much! "

From start to finish, I had a great experience renting Johnny's Landing from Rrgetaways. After browsing their offerings online, I called the office for more information and was guided to this house, which was absolutely perfect for my getaway with my dog. I used the kitchen quite frequently, and the cooking gear was fine for a vacation week. Great BBQ on a lovely deck that overlooks the river. I used the hot tub every day too...
This was the perfect getaway for a romantic and relaxing getaway!
We enjoyed our weekend at Johnny's Landing. The house is just like a rustic cabin in the woods with a bonus hot tub. I thought the kitchen was adorable. The dock wasn't in, so no kayaking for us. We explored a bit of Dunkan's Mills and Bodega Bay.
The deck wasn't as private as I'd hoped. The neighbors on the side with the hot tub are behind a fence but very close. That didn't stop us from using it twice a day though.
Cozy, comfy and quiet. Perfect spot for my husband and our 2 dogs. The outdoor deck and area surrounding the house were serene and peaceful with plenty of napping options.
The cottage was clean and well appointed.
We'll definitely stay here again should our travel plans bring us to the area.
This is the 3rd time that we have stayed at Johnny's Landing. It is a tiny, very charming cottage on the Russian River. It has a hot tub, a very nice deck, good access to the river and its own dock. Perhaps its best feature is a large stone fireplace. Our stay this time was a little disappointing for a couple of reasons. The owners have posted a sign in the kitchen which warns against fully closing the window. The reason for this was said to be that the closed window would extinguish the pilot light on the stove. This seemed counter intuitive, however we were doing some cooking so we did leave the window open. The result was that we were really cold while in the kitchen and had to use more electric heat to keep the living room warm. (Outdoor temperatures this week were in the low 40's) Our second complaint is that there are no reading lights in the living room. Each time we have stayed in the cabin we have mentioned this problem. Over time the owners have added better lighting in the bedroom and a bright overhead light in the living room, but this place is crying out for some good floor lamps!
We enjoyed our stay at Johnnys Landing for 3 nights. The cabin has access to the river and a nice view of the river from the deck with lots of trees for shade. At first when we arrived, the inside of the cabin seemed dark because of the wood panel walls, but when you open the windows, it was very nice. The cabin was equipped with everything, kitchen utensils, appliances etc. The kitchen is very tiny, but we managed just fine. We didnt do too much cooking. The cabin is small, but just right for 2 people and our dog loved it that he could go outside because the yard is fenced. The only critical comment that we have is that we didn't use the kayaks because they were quite dirty and it would have taken some work to clean them up to use. They are outside under the trees so it was understandable that they would get dirty. Maybe they need some kind of cover. Also there were no life jackets provided. The river is very shallow, but life jackets should still be available.
