Fantastic Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recomend this house on the the Lake. Second to last place on the road peacefull and quiet. Nice beach good boat landing. Rent the Pontoon Boat for the week great value and runs great. We stayed last June (2014) had a great time caught lots of fish. We had planned to stay only last year but enjoyed it so much the whole family decided to come back 2015 and will probably make this a yearly thing. The owners care that your stay is enjoyable and call to make sure everting is going well I would Highly recomend to anyone.

welcome to the cabon by the lake

  • 5 of 5

Welcome to the cabin by the lake. This is the greeting you see as you enter the cabin. Also you will your name on the chalkboard greeting you. The accommadations are great. the cabin fits all your needs. you walk onto the deck and find a great view of the lake and beach area. we had a great time with the grandkids and great grandkids fishing and swimming and just having fun. we had fishing contests which was so funny. won the first year but after that I lost and the grandkids and my son beat me. so funny they all teased me but that's ok at least it was fun my great grandkids had so much fun fishing off the dock. they had there own new fishing rods and there own life jackets. they enjoyed catching the little fish. spent time just visiting playing games inside and outside. went shopping and to a chili cookoff on our relaxing days. but everyone wanted to head back to cabin. it was nice to wake up first in the morning make coffee and go and sit on the deck and enjoy the early morning and listen to the loons and watching the fish jump up(hope it was fish] and waiting for all to wake up. pontoon rides were so cool. besides fishing and puling a raft behind it was nice to relax at night time and just go for a boat ride. had bond fires and made smores. the kids liked this but alter awhile the adults ate more then the grandkids. all in all the cabin has everything you could want plus more. mainly its just being with family. I have been returning for the past 5 years and will continue its just a nice quite place to come to with the family or maybe just a romantic get away! come for a visit. Karen d.

A little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have had the special gift of being able to enjoy this little slice of heaven for the last 5 years.

The location is so private and lovely. The home is beautiful inside and out and is stocked with everything you need. The last 4 years we have been there we have never left to go into town. I really enjoy gourmet cooking, but don't have the time normally so we use this time to make those wonderful meals, take long walks and boat around the lake! It definitely is a home away from home!

Perfect vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the opportunity to spend one glorious week in Ray and Jennifer's beautiful home. We had 6 adults, a 5 year old, a 3 year old, a 2.5 year old, an 11 month old and a 7 month old in our large party and we all fit very comfortably. Everything was clean and well cared for. Karen met us and went thorugh everything (air conditioner use, garbage pick up, etc) and was very helpful and friendly. There was information on the house, fishing areas with maps, area restaurants, etc. Everything was at our fingertips. Each room has a cieling fan and we only ended up using the air conditioner one day for about 4 hours in August!!! The property was well cared for with a perfect beach and swimming area for the kids. The kids could also fish right off the dock! They fed the fish at times too! Our kids are already asking when we can go back to the vacation home! This is the second year we have gone on a big family vacation and the first time at Ray and Jennifer's home. We will definately be back! They have a sun porch to enjoy morning coffee, a huge deck to accomodate all of us, the grill, the firepit, etc. They also have amazing neighbors! We could not have asked for a better time! Thank you!!!

Owner's Response: Jennifer, Karen and myself want to thank Jaci Riley and her family for taking time to document their experience at our lake home! We are very happy and fortunate to be able to share our "Retreat Home" with others that want to experience a vacation in "God's Country"! And, at the same time treat the property as if it were their own!

We had a really great experience on Lake Ossawinnamakee. The owners were truly accommodating in every way. Their caretaker was friendly and paid attention to every detail This is surely a home away from home. The lake home had every amenity one could possibly imagine and others we never knew we needed. The home was spotless upon our arrival. Many things were provided even though we brought our own. The weather was perfect! We had warm days and cool evenings. How is it that the rainy weather always seemed to take a detour around us? The lake water was really warm. Lake O. is a quaint little lake with lots of smaller bays. We rented the pontoon and took a ride around the lake every day. We did lots of fishing, though we didn't have tons of luck. Lake O. is a pretty weedy lake, but we were able to find a sand bar to swim off of. Our lake neighbors were a blast. My kids had tons of fun fishing off the dock, swimming, and just hanging out with them. We had one windy day, so we went into Pequot and shopped. Even though it was windy, the lake was never rough. Anyone who rents this lovely home will not be disappointed. The Crowders really aim to please. We couldn't have been more satisfied with their hospitality. They even called to check in on us and to make sure everything was up to snuff. We all believe this was one of our favorite vacations ever. Thanks so much to Karen, Ray, and Jennifer for going out of their way to make this a week to remember. Blessings to you all!

We have just completed are second year at this property and have booked a third year! It truly looks just like the photo's and is very clean and has anything you might need. The home is very nicely furnished and the owners and caretaker truly "care" about your stay! If your looking to kick back and have some real R & R we suggest this property. We did rent the pontoon with our week and it added lots of flexibilty for the family to fish and go for an evening ride to enjoy the beautiful sunset!
