Arrowhead House is a charming, private, 300-year old family summer house on Mishaum Point. It's a magical place, and sanctuary where you can step back in time, unplug from technology and enjoy the privacy and peacefulness of a secret and cherished hideaway. There are open fields, stone walls, and a salt marsh estuary with egrets, swans, geese, and ducks. Mishaum is a gated, protected, private peninsula with water on both sides. On the east side, there is a private beach, a swimming dock, and tennis court, protected from the prevailing southwest winds. On the west side, there is a dingy dock and mooring field facing Demarest Lloyd State Park, and the entrances to both Little River and Slocum River. Bring your kayak, paddleboard, etc. to explore these beautiful waterways. Mishaum is only about a 2-mile bike or walk to a favorite ice cream stop called Salvador's. Padanarum, a quaint village, is only about 5 miles away where there are several excellent waterfront restaurants, a market, and 3 boutiques. Padanarum is on Buzzard's Bay and is a thriving sailing community.
Arrowhead House is reflective of the whaling community that once defined New Bedford. Along with the 4 bedrooms there is a cozy 5-bed loft. The working fireplace is set on a natural stone hearth. Along with two bathtubs, there is an indoor and outdoor shower. In back of the house is a small fenced-in yard with a round table and chairs. It's clearly feasible for two couples with children or 4 couples without children to enjoy and is perfect for young and old alike. The house is ideal for wedding and reunion groups with lots to do or just to relax and visit with friends and family.
