Overview

About the property

Studio, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perfectly designed, perfectly located, perfectly functional.

This studio was designed by its owner, a former automobile designer. Look at the pictures, they tell everything.

The studio is located in the avenue Junot in Montmartre, on the 5th floor of a very fine building. The elevator is a piece of art deco collection. The studio sleeps two guests in a high class convertible sofa. It is used by the owner himself a few weeks per year. A caretaker manages the building.

The studio offers an open view on the avenue Junot, its larges trees and prestigious buildings of fine architecture. This prestigious avenue was built early 1900, replacing “le marquis”, a place of old wooden houses.

The painters Maurice Utrillot, Poulbot, Gen-Paul as well as Tristan Tzara lived in some of the incredible houses that were built at that time. It remains the upmost location where many famous rich artists or powerful family live.

As a bonus, Phone calls to land lines in France, and to US, Canada and australia are generaly free. It is also true for more than 50 countries. More over, calls to cell phones towards specific countries (often US & Canada) may also be free. Ask us for detail as it may vary with time and policies of operators.

The Sacre Coeur and its gardens are 2 min walk. Les abbesses, the trendy part of Montmartre is just down the hill : many restaurants, shops and nice café terraces. The LAMARCK subway is 1 min walk, and the ABBESSES subway station is 3 min walk.

This location is a perfect base to visit Paris. It stays 15 minute by subway to most interesting Paris locations AND is a very charming and restful area to be appreciated after a whole day shopping and walking through museums.

Last point, we are staying 1 block away.

We are here if you need help, but do not worry, we will not be intrusive.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We found the apartment as comfortable and stylish as you and others have described. It was a delight in every way. We were especially well pleased with the convenience of the location. We found that could easily and quickly stroll to Sacre Coeur and through charming Montmartre neighborhoods.

The apartment was perfect for my stay!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was clean and ready for. my arrival.

It is in an ideal location. There is a market almost next to the building and a wonderful bakery across the boulevard. There are 2 buses on the boulevard (80 and 95) that can take you to many of the sites and city center museums. Sacre Coeur is right up the hill.

It is takes a few minutes to pick up the keys from the office. But my taxi drivers were helpful and did not charge me extra for waiting.

Instructions for the apartment were very clear and detailed. This was very helpful.

It was great to have use of a washing machine in the apartment!

Jean Noel was prompt in his responses. I did ask many questions and he was always courteous and clear in his answers.

Thank you for a great stay. I will contact you when I travel to Paris again!

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is incredibly close to everything in bustling Montmartre and walking distance to two metro stations. Loved the view from the window and the Boulangerie and market across the street! Great place to stay. Highly recommend.

Wonderful

  • 4 of 5

We hade a great stay in the apartment. Jueno 1

Was very clean and all you needed for a stay in Paris as long as you understand it is a small apartment.

Location was wonderful to base from. Montmartre is so relaxed and beautiful. The metro is a short walk away that gets you to the center of Paris in 10 minutes.

We plan on returning to Paris and will stay there again if it just the two of us. Anymore then two and it's to small.

Directions given to get the keys were great. No problems getting them. I would recommend going to the apartment and have someone in the party stay with luggage. Then go get keys as it's hard to wheel luggage over cobblestone streets.

End review is we had a great stay. The apartment fit our needs perfect.

Comfortable studio, sometimes noisy in afternoon

  • 3 of 5

Beautiful window view of ornate Beaux Arts apartment buildings. Grocery just below, but this made for noise disturbance at times in the afternoon when people gathered (and sometimes, it appeared, were yelling for whatever reason). Security deposit was not refunded until 11 days after I vacated apartment.

Payment was cumbersome (in two), with some hidden fees that brought the rental up considerably (vrbo service fee, management, cleaning...). I got way too many notices of "payment due," some of which were linked to pages that led to vain attempts to pay.

Cleaning fee was exorbitant. The information folder stated it was a much lower amount. In any case the underside of the small rug had debris which had not been removed. There was hardly anything to clean, anyway, except the sheets. The studio apartment is comfortable and larger than it looks in the photo. The bathroom is decent sized. You do need to close the shower doors equally from both sides, otherwise water will spray out. The microwave oven, though state-of-the-art, is complicated to use and comes with an 80-page manual. Nice granite kitchen counter. The apartment gets good light. The sofa-bed is literally inches from the doorway, which makes your neighbors movements in the hall very audible (but this Paris, after all). The neighbors are discreet, and the neighborhood even in the evening seemed very safe. It was not easy to get the key from the management office, and it was lucky I did not arrive on a weekend, when no one would have been around.

Owner's Response: Hi Denny, Thank you for mentioning the studio is well positioned in a calm and secure area and is clear and actually larger than it looks on photos. It is true a studio remains a studio. One obviously could wish to have more room to move around. I have to explain the cost of cleaning in a city like Paris. First, the cost is mentioned in the documents we send prior to payment. It is actually a very reasonable cost for professional cleaning (47€). You would find that many owners charge 65 to 75 euros for cleaning a studio. It is not obvious that management of the sheets & towels represent approx 50% of the cleaning cost. We will make sure this is clearly explained in our documentation. As you said to us later, the 1 bedroom apt that you rented from us on the next week was obviously a better choice for you. We hope to welcome you again in one of our apts in Paris. Sincerely JNoel

Fantastic apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was fantastic. It was superbly appointed with everything you would need. The sofa bed was extremely comfortable and so easy to use. The location was brilliant - just a few minutes to walk up to Sacre Coeur and the metro just around the corner. Shops and restaurants in abundance in the area, especially the boulangerie! Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to family and friends.
