Clean, great location, walking distance to stores and restaurants, easily accessible ski-in/ski-out
This was the best ski trip in my life! There was still powder snow in the upper parts of Whistler mountain at the beginning of April!
Warm and welcoming
The house was very warm and welcoming. Great quieter location. Perfect for our relaxing girls trip, yet so very close to the hustle and bustle of the village!!
So happy to hear you had an enjoyable stay!
Great Ski Location
Our family ski vacation to Whistler, great ski mountain, very good accommodations. Short walk for path to ski out to slopes, ski in was a little tricky to find and navigate the path. Great trip!
Great to have had your group! Happy to hear you had a great trip!
A little disappointed
I have stayed in a lot of properties and unfortunately I had a bad experience with this one.
Cons from the trip...
1. I was contacted a week before about one of the showers being broken saying that they would refund us if it was a deal breaker. Although, this was nice it was a week before our trip and during busy time everything was booked up. They ended up getting a plumber to fix it during our stay.
2. I didn't receive the code to the front door before check in. I had to send a reminder message for them to send me the code.
3. When we arrived hours after check-in, the cleaners were still in the house. I understand it is a busy time and they were working really hard but this was definitely an inconvenience.
4. The ski in was difficult to find, icy and narrow.
5. The bottom bedroom remained pretty cold because the dresser in the room was blocking the heater.
6. There weren't many tv channels available. Normally, the group would be outside but it rained all day so we stayed in.
Pros from the trip...
1. It is a spacious place with all the necessary items for cooking. We really liked how it was split into levels.
2. The ski out was very easy and convenient.
3. The hot tub was well maintained.
4. The view from the top bedrooms was nice.
Overall, the place was a little outdated but good for the price. Make sure to read all the details of the contract so you don't miss out on all the cleaning. It took us over an hour to make sure the place met the requirements.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We’re truly sorry you didn’t have a better experience. We always attempt to do the best we can for our guests. With respect to your itemized “cons” we would like to respond: 1.As soon as we had been made aware of the shower issue; we were on the phone with plumbers immediately. We made several offers to pay premium over the holidays, unfortunately most plumbers weren’t answering phones. One plumber indicated it would take several days to repair leaving the bathtub/shower non-functional in the interim. Fortunately another plumber came through with different approach and the shower was functional in the early afternoon of the day after your group checked in. With the downstairs shower and tub and upstairs tub functional we hope it wasn’t too inconvenient for that first evening and morning. 2.Please accept my second apology for not having sent the code earlier on the day you checked in. I am glad you did reach out prior to arriving and that I was able to immediately respond with the code prior to your arrival. 3.It’s unacceptable to have the cleaners there when you arrived I understand they were just wrapping up and were there for about 10 minutes. The two members of your group who had arrived were understanding. Our cleaner apologized and left two bottles with them. We have spoken to our cleaners about this. It hasn't been an issue in the past nor will it in the future. 4.Our guests have found once they consult the information provided with videos and links in the ‘welcome info’ it clears up any difficulty locating the ski in. We are available and happy to take calls from our guests anytime prior to or during their stay. Unfortunately, Mother Nature will have to take blame for the icy ski in conditions during your stay. 5.I am surprised to hear the bedroom remained cold as each room has its own thermostat control. 6.I’m sorry the specific tv channels you may have been interested in weren’t provided. The cable package does provide 30-50 channels.
The check out list is provided to guests prior and does include most things I have seen and experienced myself when using other vrbo’s on many occasions including: loading dishwasher; removing all garbage to the garbage shed on premises and places used towels in the bath. The photos quite accurately show the décor of the townhouse. I’m glad that you appreciate the value of what is provided at the rate at which it is offered, the ski out, the hot tub and the views.
great location and responsive host with caveats at the time we stay
Perfect location with three decent size bedrooms, large family room and dinning room are spacious for group and family.
Host was very responsive over text, email and phone as well.
There are caveats for this property:
1. there are two full bath rooms: one on first floor next to a bedroom; the second one on 3rd floor shared with two additional bedrooms. Unfortunately, at the time we checked in and through our 5 nights stay, shower didn't work in second bath room on 3rd floor and host informed us we had to live with one shower due to the holiday schedule of plumber.
2. Ski in and out are not available by the time we checked out due to not enough snow covering the ski in/out trail. However, you can hold your gear and walk through the short trail to slope all the time.
Overall, I would recommend this property for winter vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and cozy home with all the essentials. My wife and I stayed in the bottom floor bedroom with our 2 year old for a family getaway, and because there are 2 floors separating it from the other bedrooms our toddler's midnight crying didn't disturb anyone else. The private hot tub was fantastic after a long drive. Laura was very polite, helpful, and promptly replied to all messages.
Whistler Creekside is great in any season! In the winter come visit and experience everything Whistler is famous for and more! In the summer come relax at one of five very close lakes! There is as little or as much as you could ever imagine for activities in and around Whistler no matter the season!
