Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

Debra and Don's cabin looks out onto their lovely 5 acre property. It has a cozy, east facing sun deck with a table, 4 chairs, and a BBQ. There are deck chairs on the south side patio. The cabin is bright, with windows all around and a skylight. There is ample parking right at the door and room for additional guest parking. The weather was hot when we were there, but the large overhead fan kept us cool and we slept comfortably. We felt very relaxed and at home in this cabin due, to a great extent, to the welcoming nature of the owners. When we unfortunately had an accident and damaged something in the cabin, Debra graciously assured us that she was "going to buy new ones anyway." We visit the Cowichan Valley on a regular basis, and this property will be our "home away from home" in the future.

Cute and clean cottage

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Debra's cabin this weekend and had a great time. The location is perfect. 45 minutes from Victoria, 20 minutes to Duncan, 5 minutes to Mill Bay. The tiny and efficient set up is just right for a simple vacation with a nice frig, stove, and TV. It's very clean and comfortable for two guests.

Debra was great with the reservations and very gracious upon arrival. She recommended some good restaurants in Cowichan Bay which was about 10 minutes away. There was also a delicious bakery there! We even visited Enrico winery which was right across the street. What an unexpected bonus. Loved this place and look forward to returning next spring.

Exactly what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect little cottage! We were on the island for a family reunion, and need some place for the 5 of us to stay. It also needed to be pet friendly. We were fortunate enough that this cottage was available as most rentals were already booked. The owners were very accommodating and even offered us a blow up bed for our children. Prior to our arrival the peers made sure that we had all ferry information and directions to there cottage. We didn't get lost once. Although the owners were not there they made sure that someone was there to greet us and show us around. Unfortunately we were only at the cottage to sleep (as the reunion took up the whole weekend), but it was a lovely location and the cottage was clean and comfortable (shower was wonderful). I highly recommend this cottage. It was a wonderful place to rest after some very busy days and long nights.

I spent 5 weeks in the Duncan area living in this lovely cabin. Not only was the cabin open and bright, but the hosts were very friendly. A great time!

Had everything we needed

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here over the easter long weekend and chose the cottage because of its location and price. Although it's fairly "cozy" in terms of size, it had everything we needed to cook our own food every night, catch up on the hockey playoffs and get a restful night's sleep. There are grocery stores near by and the cottage is in close proximity to many wineries (too bad Enricho right accross the road wasn't yet open for the season!). The cottage is located right off of a road so it's not the most private or quiet during the day, but the owners have done their best to add a few things to try to allow more privacy while sitting in the sun. We'd definitely consider staying there again if we are in the area.
