Experience our Tropical Oceanfront Paradise in contemporary Hawaiian accommodations delivering cozy island living. Our single-story 1440 Sq.Ft. home is 30 feet from the ocean's edge on a seawall and 150 yards from sandy beaches. The unique closeness to the ocean gives a dynamic connection and sound of the ocean's movement, which is both picturesque and exciting. From the open Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen a wall of floor to ceiling windows so close to the ocean will fill your senses with the wonder and beauty of nature. The incredible ever-changing ocean views of turtles swimming right in front of you while you relax in the yard or patio, whales in winter, lovely occasional rainbows and beautiful sunsets let you know you are truly in a special place.

If you are looking for a small picturesque enclave in a secluded area away from Honolulu, this is it.

Come stay where people come to get away from the crowds and relax in our Hawaiian style cottage. Only 9 minutes to the historic town of Hale'iwa (site for 'Baywatch')with unique art, shopping and restaurants and 15 minutes to Waimea Bay and Botanical Gardens.

The famous North Shore surf breaks are within a 15 minute drive, including Pipeline and Sunset Beach. You can fish right off the seawall. There is a wide variety of excellent restaurants and great water sport activities right here.

For the golfers, Turtle Bay Golf and Tennis Resort is just a 30 minute drive, and Kahuku Golf just 40.

There are no hotels in Mokuleia and almost empty white sand beaches go for miles in both directions. It is also a site for the TV Series 'Lost'. Sky Diving and Glider Rides are offered just down the street and kite-surfers will entertain you with their antics on the waves to the West at Mokuleia Beach Park.

Because we consider the 10' seawall a potential danger for young children, we recommend only infants under 9 months and children over 5. Please keep in mind that since we are so close to the ocean that there are times when the water hits the seawall and some spray occasionally getting to the house. It can be exciting or daunting depending on your point of view. We ourselves love the intimacy with the ocean.

Fantastic location - beautiful views!

  • 4 of 5

We absolutely loved the layout of the house (TWO living areas, bedrooms at the opposite end of the house, and an open concept kitchen), the gorgeous ocean views, and the proximity to Haleiwa, Waimea Valley, and many spectacular beaches. It was wonderful to be able to watch the skydivers from Skydive Hawaii (located just across the road) float to earth in such a beautiful, serene setting - right in our backyard! My daughter also walked to both of the nearby beaches and found them beautiful and without crowds.

I would have given this terrific property five stars if not for a few little things such as multiple lights (including ceiling lights) being burned out, a problem with one half of the stove, traffic noise at the street, and a slider (both screen and glass) in the master bedroom that didn't have a latch. I do want to say that the traffic is NOT bothersome at all from the backyard, but if sitting in the front room, it can be a bit annoying. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to back out of the driveway as well.

We were initially concerned that the house didn't have A/C, but found it really wasn't necessary. Even after everything was closed up during the warmest part of the day, once the sliders were opened, with the ceiling fans on, the air flow was lovely and kept the temperature very comfortable.

Not that anyone would want to spend time watching television while in paradise :-) but don't worry about missing a favorite program - there are four televisions in the house! Great convenience to have a washer/dryer, and the wireless worked well for us, too. Also really appreciated the big basket of beach towels there for us to use. The kitchen was outfitted with everything needed to cook a full meal if desired (which we did twice during our stay).

While in the area, we highly recommend visiting Waimea Valley, botanical gardens, and falls, as well as enjoying an out of this world breakfast at Cafe Haleiwa. We also had delicious meals at both Haleiwa Joe's and the Haleiwa Beach House - and remember to get some of that fresher than fresh, delectable shrimp truck shrimp! For us, the best part of this house, location, and quiet neighborhood was just being able to kick back and completely relax, falling asleep and waking to the sound of ocean waves. It truly is PARADISE, and we look forward to returning soon!

Thanks for your hospitality, Taiana and Richard!

Comfortable, serene, and beautiful view of the ocean

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 nights and 9 days in your beautiful beachfront 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. We loved the view and location of home. Only draw back was not having air conditioning on the extra warm days and evenings. Also the bathrooms had no ceiling fans to help ventalate heat and moisture. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and location there on the north shore :)

Absolutely Beautiful and Tranquil

  • 5 of 5

I almost don't want to write a rave review so this place remains a VRBO secret but I would never do that. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! It is exactly as described, right on the ocean, quiet neighborhood, tranquil surroundings, far away from the busy streets of Honolulu. This is exactly what me and my family were looking for. I woke up every morning and walked outside to watch the waves crash against the wall. Did the same thing at night under the stars. Not a peep. Although it is next to the street, it is near the end of a very quiet road and you rarely, rarely hear a car drive by.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the stay possible. We loved it and will be back!!

Ocean Front Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We are thankful to have had the opportunity to stay at this rental. Nothing like awaking/falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing. The sunrises and sunsets are simply breath taking. Such perfect views you won't want to leave. I highly recommend this rental to anyone.

Beautiful, tranquil North Shore ocean front home

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful vacation home, on the very quiet eastern end of the North Shore. If you want to get away from the busier areas of O'ahu and have a quieter, more laid back experience, this is the perfect vacation spot.

The house is very well equipped with everything you need from a vacation home. It's a bonus to have a property with two separate living areas and the broadband is super fast. We loved being close to the ocean and having this fabulous view. We watched whales breaching and dancing their way across the horizon while sitting on the deck. On calmer days, you can see turtles bobbing across the bay.

Staying on the North Shore in March meant some awesome waves - you definitely need to keep the ocean-facing windows closed on the days when the swell is higher! The house is also opposite Dillingham Airfield, and it's great fun to watch people sky diving - they come in right over the top of the house!

While the house is on a rocky part of the shore and doesn't have direct sea access, there's a beach just a very short walk down the road (Unfortunately, this beach access was closed temporarily while we were there). The house has some great beach stuff (boards, coolers, snorkelling fins etc) and if you jump in the car, just minutes down the road, there are 3 or 4 stunning and usually deserted beaches on the road to Kaena point, where you can see also amazing sunsets. You've also got Pipeline etc. just 15-20 minutes drive away.

Haleiwa is just a ten minute drive, and has everything you need - from restaurants, to a great grocery store, and a gas station.

While the house is next to a road, we weren't bothered by the traffic, which is very light. Other people have noted that the house gets warm during the day - that's true, but by opening up the doors and putting the fans on, the house cooled quickly in the evening. We found it was safe and quiet enough to leave the front door open all day until we went to bed, which kept a lovely breeze flowing through the house.

The property manager, Taiana, and owner, Richard, were incredibly helpful when we booked our trip and during our stay - thank you!

We were very fortunate to stay at the house for a month and enjoyed every minute of our holiday. We've stayed in some lovely vacation properties, and this is one of the best. We'd recommend this lovely house to anyone who'd like a holiday away from the hustle and bustle with the bonus of stunning ocean views.
