For added convenience, this suite offers 2 TVs with cable, DVD players, washer/dryer, iron & ironing board, free wireless internet and local phone service and a safe..
Enjoyed the condo, very private deck with hot tub and a walk-up platform to see the sunset. Big bedroom with view of the water and cruise ships. Very large bathroom with huge shower and double vanity. Lots of restaurants & bars in walking distance.
When it comes to Key West, being close to the action of Duval and restaurants without having to drive. This condo allowed for that perfect spot, one where it was quiet to be relaxing and very close to everything. We LOVED it and would without a doubt come back again. A very easy transaction with the owner and experience with the resort - perfect vacation! Thanks!!
This was an amazing condo! It is on the highest floor overlooking Key West and conveniently located to all the happenings-Duvall Street, Mallory Square, shopping, and the marina with a boardwalk wrapping around it boasting tons of great restaurants and bars. The pictures are very accurate and I can’t say enough about how awesome the two decks were! We especially loved spending time on the top deck with 360 degree views of Key West and the water. I like to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with very modern appliances. The hot tub was very nice after a long day of walking and biking, and the washer and dryer were great since we had a week stay here.
The property was very nice with a clean pool, hot-tub, small beach with floating dock as well as a Tiki bar. The staff was great to work with and they stored our luggage before check in and after check out which was very convenient.
We took the Key West Express which was fun but the ride back to Fort Myers Beach was a little rough due to inclement weather. I would not recommend taking this if prone to seasickness unless it looks like clear sailing.
We rented bikes from J.G. rentals for a very fair price right outside the Galleon, and on arrival were visited by the concierge and given a ton of coupons and brochures which was a nice surprise.
Lastly, Ed was really great to work with. He always responded to my email questions quickly and takes credit cards, which was a plus. My husband and I were a little apprehensive about booking on Home Away since we are new to this type of booking but had absolutely no issues. I can’t say enough about how nice this place was, and highly recommend it.
My wife and I being together for over 35 years, had the time of our lives in Ed's very private sixth floor unit with its own rooftop deck. This suite is the envy of all. Such privacy is not available anywhere! The room was unbelievable and the hot tub was a definite plus. Thanks so much for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy the best vacation rental ever. Looking forward to returning again soon. Don't miss a chance to stay in the only suite on the sixth floor. You will thank me later. Ed's place ROCKS!!
This place is beyond beautiful.
The rooftop deck has a spectacular view of the entire island and ocean. The place was clean and convenient to all of Key West's attractions and nightlife.
While we visited, we rented bikes from around the corner of the building. This proved to be a fun and inexpensive way to see Key West and it's beaches.
The parasailing and booze cruise wharf were also located extremely close to this lovely place (within a three minute walk). I can say with certainty that we will definitely stay here again in the near future.
The on-sight tiki bar, pool, and small beach were a huge hit as well!
We had a great stay! Very nice, well maintained unit with nice amenities. The rooftop deck is THE place to catch the infamous sunset in quiet and watch boats come & go from the harbor. No car required at this location. We found EVERYTHING (other than grocery store) available within walking distance. Tiki bar had live music everyday to help set the relaxing mood on the beach AND at the pool. Small iguanas were seen from time to time roaming among the plant life. All-in-all a GREAT location.
Issues we dealt with but wouldn't stop us from returning. People would like to know about before arriving:
Rooftop awning not there anymore. No computer in the unit. There is no grill with this unit. In-unit DSL service OR Building WiFi is not up to std (Speed Test slower than a 56k modem). Plan on using your cell phone 4G when available.
Don't plan on sleeping too late. Noise travels up between the buildings and trash trucks come every morning. A couple late night parties in nearby units. I'm sure we were just "lucky" but there was some construction going on in units below us in the mornings including hammers, drills and other loud noises, generally starting around 9AM. Pigeons have made the unit's deck & the resort rooftop their home. Be prepared to share the lower patio with them and listen to their claws on the skylight flashing in the unit.
The Galleon Resort & Marina is located at the end of Front Street, just 2 blocks from Duval and 3 blocks from Mallory Square. All of the attractions, shopping, fine restaurants & famous bars are only steps away. The Galleon Resort is also at the very beginning of the 'Harbor Walk'. Just outside of the resort, you can get boats for scuba, snorkeling, fishing, sunset sails, coral reefs, parasailing, etc. This is absolutely the best location in Key West.
