About Sebastian Turnbull
My mother (Christa) bought this lovely Leipzig building as an investment, and she's gradually handing over this little FeWo rental business to me, her son - Sebastian. We both deal with the bookings and the emails. So, you might hear from either of us. Mum was born in Berlin and educated in Stralsund. When the Berlin Wall was built, she fled to Melbourne, met my father (David - an actor). After 45 years in London, she moved back to Berlin (in 2006). As for me (Sebastian), I'm an Englishman born and bred, but I visited my mother in Berlin one day and fell in love with the city. I still live in Berlin, where I work as an English teacher and translator. But I love Leipzig as well and our lovely apartments there.

Why Sebastian Turnbull chose Volkmarsdorf
Most of these beautiful houses were empty for over 5 years. We (a group of family and friends) went to auction, and were delighted to get such a beautiful house. We put loads of working into restoring the building and now all the apartments are in tip-top condition. The roof and facade have also been newly renovated.
What makes this Apartment unique
We love this old house, because we've worked so much in it. The garden is now finished and you can sit in it. Soon the staircase will be renovated (in accordance with the building's listed status) and will have its former decorations on the walls.

A beautiful apartment in a multicultural neighborhood
We came to Leipzig 'cause my daughter is starting her college here at the Uni Leipzig. During our whole adventure of looking for an apartment for her and establishing here in the city, we stayed at Christa's. The apartment is in a beautiful old building in the process of renovation, as many in that area. The rooms where large for German standards and quite comfortable, with a full furnished kitchen and large bathroom. There are nearby supermarkets and the ride to downtown is quite short on the Trambahn. We definitely recommend this apartment and are thankful to Christa who was very accommodating and helped us a lot.
Elegant and meticulously clean apartment with all the comforts of home.
This beautiful apartment, newly renovated with gleaming original wood floors and white walls, is one of the most elegant places we have ever stayed in Europe. The bedrooms are comfortable (the linens smell so clean!) and the kitchen has everything one needs. The local supermarket is just minutes away, and there are many choices of inexpensive and delicious restaurant and cafes nearby. The owner was very cordial and told us about the fascinating history of the neighborhood and building. Public transportation to Leipzig center and our conference was convenient and easy. If you plan to visit Leipzig, this is an ideal place to stay.
Well renovated apartment in classical building
The apartment fully meets the description in the advertisement: modern, light and comfortable. The building itself (exterior, stair case) still needs some renovation work to be done (as mentioned in the ad).
The bed was of high quality; The environment quiet.
Connection by public transport to the city centre and central station (Hbf) is very good and takes only 10 minutes (4 stops). On-street parking is no problem, although you will not need a car during your stay in Leipzig. That's why we travelled by train to Leipzig.
Contact with the landlady by phone and mail was very pleasant and prompt. An issue was solved promptly and to full satisfaction. Unfortunately we could not meet her in person as she could not come to Leipzig for an understandable private reason.
All-in-all a positive experience in an interesting city!
My goal is to make my guests happy while on holidays in Leipzig. The house, the old staircase and the garden, if all apartment owners agree, will be finished this year.

Schöne Wohnung in Leipzig
