Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (beds for 6)
Are you an animal lover who would love to vacation at a place where there is peace and quiet as well as all kinds of animals, both domestic and wildlife, to watch? Do you stress when planning a vacation because you can’t bring your dog(s) along? Would you like to have unlimited long distance calling available rather than trying to use your cell phone in our mountainous area? Then Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm is the place for you. The cabin is situated on 17 acres of beautifully rolling hills directly below Meadow Creek Mountain. For your canine family members (we allow up to 5 dogs..size doesn't matter), we offer 1/2 -acre of fenced backyard so that they may run and frolic as well as a fenced deck. We've replaced the backyard fence and have added pictures showing the cabin with the new fence.
Our cabin has three bedrooms and two full baths. The Master bedroom has a king sized bed, and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, a crock pot, electric roaster pan, coffee pot, toaster oven, four-slice toaster, and many other items for folks who want to do their own cooking. There is seating for 6 at the kitchen table.
The living room has a flat screen TV with both a DVD and VCR player available for your convenience.
The back porch is where everyone likes to sit and enjoy the view. There is a large hot tub on the deck with two separate sitting areas. We have a professional gas grill that is hooked up to our large propane tank so you will never have to worry about bringing your own propane. There are also BBQ utensils so you don't have to bring your own. The backyard and upper deck are fully fenced for the safe containment of your pets and younger children.
We have a working farm in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest. Our farm is 100+ years old (it was originally a dairy farm back in 1900) and has an extensive history. The cabin was originally the hired man's house (although it has been totally renovated) and the 100+ farmhouse across the street is where we live. A road divides the cabin and the farmhouse which allows everyone to have their privacy. We will welcome our guests when they first check in to make sure everything is okay at the cabin. We are out and about twice a day to feed the Llamas and horses; if our guests have questions about the Llamas/horses then we are available. We are always available if there are issues with the cabin. Otherwise, we try and stay invisible so our guests have their privacy.
Our six equines (including a miniature mule and two miniature donkeys) will often come up to the back fence to welcome the “newcomers.” It’s amazing how many dogs have never been “up close and personal” with a horse! It will be like a dude ranch for you and your dogs!
Near sundown, our guests find it very entertaining to watch the donkeys at play. They will run and chase each other while kicking their hooves in the air. Most of our equines are rescued animals, so it’s especially heartwarming to see them enjoying life.

About Ed or Ginny Miller
We are Ginny & Ed Miller. I'm a native Texan (with roots in Tennessee) while Ed is from Upstate New York. We lived in the Clear Lake City, Texas area for 21 years where we worked for NASA/Johnson Space Center. From Houston, we moved to Colorado Springs for a year and then Washington, DC for 17 years. Ed worked for the Department of Defense while I worked in the human resources field in several different industries.
Ed or Ginny Miller purchased this Cabin in 2000
Why Ed or Ginny Miller chose Cocke County
Ed's brother moved to Parrottsville and was married here. The reception was held at a local resort within walking distance of our cabin. Family members stayed at the cabin prior to us purchasing it from the resort, less than 6 months later. We fell in love with the quiet beauty of this area. It took us almost 4 years before we were able to move to Parrottsville and enjoy this 'little piece of heaven' on a full-time basis.
What makes this Cabin unique
The peace and quiet are something that can't be described. For people who live "life in the fast lane" the peacefulness of our farm can help our guests to become back "in balance." At night we don't have "light pollution" so the evening sky is beyond description. Many nights, we can see the Milky Way. Again, it's difficult to describe the beauty of walking outside and seeing a sky full of planets/stars with meteorites trailing across in the distance.

A vacation for our dogs.....and we loved it too!
Our lab/shepherd mix and her golden doodle sister often get shorted when it comes to vacations. They either have to go to a kennel or they go with us and walk on leashes all week, unable to really cut loose and run and play. Not here. This trip was chosen for them for a change, and it was perfect, and the people in the family enjoyed it greatly too. While the dogs ran and played in the huge fenced yard and made friends with horses, donkeys and llamas, we enjoyed the porch and the hot tub and throwing the ball with them. The house is spotlessly clean....not just clean for a home that allows multiple dog visitors, but clean clean. And anything and everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable is provided, even board games, book selections and movies. All you have to bring is food. And in all of our travels we have never slept so well....the beds are incredibly comfortable. This was just a short stay for us, but we will definitely be back. Already looking forward to just sitting on the porch doing nothing again and throwing the ball for the dogs.
Beautiful property with everything you could possibly need. The owners are very friendly and right across the road if you need anything, but the house and yard feel very private. Our dog was very comfortable here, both inside the house and in the fenced yard.
We had terrible colds and still had a terrific time. We took daily walks to say hi to the llamas (and occasionally get nuzzled!), and we fed the horses and donkeys and mule who were all so gentle. Interacting with happy rescue animals is always a great experience. We drove to Max Patch for outstanding views and then on to Asheville for lunch, which was a good day trip if you don't mind mountain roads. The whole area is beautiful, so even though we were too sick to hike like we wanted, short walks and long drives were a pleasure.
We couldn't have asked for more and really hope to come this way again.
This was our second visit, such an amazing place, we will stay here for many, many years to come. If you want a little piece of Heaven, this is the place to go. We love Ed and Ginny, truly would not be as an amazing experience without them, they are so wonderful. My girls loved going into the barn and mingling with the Llamas, learning their names and seeing their different personalities, but I do believe their favorite part was feeding them!
We have three small dogs and they loved the huge yard and being able to see (well bark, and attempt to herd them ) all the Llamas and horses. The yard as well as the porch are very pet friendly.
This is a perfect place to unplug from the world for a while, sit on the porch and just take in the scenery. The hardest thing you will have to do is to pack up and leave, it is hard to drive away and leave the cabin and the surroundings.
Peace and Quiet
If you are looking forward to a relaxing vacation in a beautiful environment for you and your dogs, this place is hard to beat. We just loved sitting on the back porch and listening to the quiet. We cooked out every night on the provided gas grill and saved a pile of money by not going to any restaurants during our entire time there. The dogs also enjoyed running in the large, fenced-in yard and relaxing on the back porch. The special attraction, in addition to the peaceful environment, are the llamas. They are absolutely amazing creatures. Also, Ed and Ginny are the best hosts! This was our second time here and we hope to be back again in the not too distance future.
The best home away from home vacation ever!!!
This place is the best place ever to get away from home but still yet feel like you are at home only without the stresses of everyday life. Your fur babies are with you, the view is beautiful, the people are extremely friendly and the air is so relaxing! We were SO happy to find this piece of home away from home. Our only disappointment is that we had not found it sooner and wished we had booked it for longer... We will always stay here every year as long as it is available. We already miss it SO much and our fur babies just LOVED the open area. We cannot wait to come back and visit. Thank know you so much Ed and Ginny! You have definitely made the best vacation home away from home ever!!!
Relaxing and beautiful
We loved our stay at the Autumn Dancer Llama farm very much. The scenery was gorgeous, the llama were adorable, and the kitchen had every gadget and appliance know to man or woman. House was very comfortable and we enjoyed the space and the porch and the hot tube. It's a great getaway. We also enjoyed our hosts and wished we had more time to chat. They were very welcoming and accommodating.
Other Activities: viewing wildlife, horseshoes, shopping, boating
