Why Ana Cardoso chose Lisbon Old Town
I saw the glazed tiles and the wooden floors and that was it -- decision taken! Also, I had attended school very close by, so everything felt like home.

We loved our stay at this apartment. It was beautiful, charming, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great location in Lisbon. Helena and Carlos were a pleasure to communicate with. Highly recommend
This apartment offers everything a visitor to Lisbon needs in terms of facilities, location, ambience, space and genuinely lovely owner / manager contacts. It was a pleasure to explore the city from this base, and a pleasure to just chill ‘at home’. Recommended.
Old World Character & Great Location!
Beautiful space with gorgeous azulejos on many walls. Corner with fantastic windows & light. We'll equipped for comfort & function, soft thirsty towels, great kitchen. Enjoyed an excellent bottle of wine that was given to us!
Carlos checked us in & shared his extensive knowledge of the area, and made great recommendations based on our interests.
Would return in a heartbeat!
This neighbourhood is great!
Comfortable and authentic apartment in characterful and convenient location. The pre-holiday communication and arrival and check-in were excellent. The apartment, though suffering a little from a surfeit of varnished wood, was comfy and was the most diligently-stocked rental we've ever stayed in. Every small convenience you'd have in your own home was here. We were ten minutes' walk from the waterside and Chiado/Baixa in the other direction and the fabled 28 tram went just past the door. Had a lovely time. Would fully recommend.
Everything you read in these reviews about this property is confirmed, the only thing I would add is how much we enjoyed the neighborhood, just a wonderful mix of old world Portugal and modern characters, beautiful!
This apartment is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. Exquisite original details as well as very comfortable and clean. Ana has put a lot of thought into making her guests comfortable and although we were only there for 3 nights we felt like we could have stayed indefinitely. Great location on 28 tram and wonderful neighborhood. Coffee and pastry at the cafe across the street was a plus! Most definitely recommend.
Five to ten minutes walking distance you'll find bohemian Bairro Alto, with its nightlife and alternative shops. A couple of steps further you're in Chiado, a more sophisticated district, with old-style cafes, theaters, and renowned shops.
Head in that same direction strolling along the narrow streets closer to the river and you can enjoy nice views of Lisbon and the river from Miradouro (Belvedere) Santa Catarina.
Walking a few minutes the opposite direction as you leave the apartment, you find S. Bento street with its antique shops and the national parliament. Santos, labeled the 'design district' for its cluster of shops dedicated to design, is 2,000 feet (600m) away.
Principe Real, with the botanic garden, several gay bars and clubs, interior design shops, and more antique shops, is located 2,000 feet (600m) from the apartment.
To go to Alfama and the castle or the flea market on a Saturday or Tuesday morning, catch tram 28 (for 1 mile, 1.6 km) (the stop heading in that direction is located on the street behind the building).
At the nearby Santos station you can take the train to visit Estoril and Cascais or enjoy their beach (30 minute train ride).
The Marina Doca Alcantara is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) away, with a direct 2 minute train connection to Santos station (which is less than 10 minutes walking from the apartment).
Lisbon synagogue is 1 mile (1.6 km) away.
Cafés, pastry shops, small groceries, restaurants, and old-fashioned shops go without mentioning, as there are so many of them all around...
