This apartment was perfect for my husband and me. It was clean, SUPER QUIET, and comfortable. Great location, friendly doormen, and overall great choice of apartment. There weren't very many pots, pans, dishes, etc....but who wants to cook on vacation in NYC? The basics were there, which is all we needed. I would highly recommend this unit!
Property descriptions were accurate to the tee! The place was immaculate, quite, comfortable and satisfactory -- a true home away from home. Modern and contemporary furnishings found throughout. The area/sorrounding felt very safe, even walking at 1:00 a.m. Landlord (Adrienne) was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you so much for everything!!
Ok here are some recommendations:
Amadeus Pizza on 8th Ave. between 51st & 52nd is highly recommended to suffice any pizza, subs, pasta, burger cravings or whatever your heart desires. The long list of items from the menu will overwhelm you.
There is a twin roll away bed in the closet-- no more than three (3) persons at a time to keep it spacious.
The $27 (7 day) unlimited Metrocard was all worthy for our 4 night & 5 day stay. Subway stations and bus stops are 1-4 blocks or 5-15 mins walk depending on which lines you take.
City/subway/bus maps, guides, and in person help can be found at the NY Visitor Center on 7th Ave. between 52nd St. & 53rd St.
Duane Read (grocery store without fresh produce) is less than 1/2 block away-- so stock up to save some $$$$$.
City Pass saved us a lot of time waiting in line and $.
The Good: perfect location; very close to Times Square, Columbus Circle, Central Park, shopping, tons of restaurants, bars, subway accessibility, clean area, security doorman; clean kitchen; air conditioning, in-apartment washer/dryer
The Bad: shower room vent is very dirty and needs cleaning; the shower-tub drainage plumbing needs servicing - the water did not drain properly after showering; the bathroom needs a shower mat (I used a bath towel to step on to after showering); the cot bed/mattress and coil springs definitely needs replacing (suggestion: replace the cot with a sofa bed); or add a new cot and a new sofa bed all together; the washer and dryer didn't seem to wash and dry properly; clothes were somewhat dirty still after; the washer needs to be serviced or cleaned, there was dirt or mold in between the rubber seals; the dryer doesn't automatically turn off - left on and you have to manually shut it off (dangerous and it heats up); needs a toaster in kitchen; needs a basic plug-in kettle for boiling water; kitchen sink needs a new metal stopper; the laminate flooring needs to be fixed (bubble protruding in the walk area/kitchen table area); the TV remote needs to be replaced or fixed (didn't always turn on)the lock on the balcony door needs to be fixed - it didn't lock properly.
Would still recommend to friends, but should get those causes for concern fixed and the rating would be higher.
This apartment is in the perfect location and within walking distance to major attractions. The neighborhood is safe and I felt very safe if walking alone. There are no lack of restaurants or markets in the immediate area. The apartment was very nicely decorated and the kitchen was stocked with dishes and pans. The laundry is a great convenience. Roy is very easy to work with and quickly responds to email. I do have to agree with a previous guest, however, that the cot is not very comfortable. I would certainly stay here again. We loved the apartment. Thanks Roy!
While NY is a very walkable city, the location of this flat was perfect for a week of exploring. The building is very quiet and the sound of the fountain in the courtyard was a wonderful ambient noise. The size of the apartment is perfect for two people, everything was clean and well-stocked. Having a deck to sit on was a welcome spot. I would recommend this flat as a great centrally located, comfortable, well appointed, well priced place in the heart of the city. I did a LOT of research on flats and this one really is a good choice.
This apartment was very comfortable, met all of our needs and was in a perfect location. The building is very well cared for and very soundproof. Close to everything and lots of food options including the Pick A Bagel for breakfast every morning. The bathtub/shower would not work for anyone with a disability as the tub side is tall to get over but otherwise the bathroom was very spacious and clean. New York is a very friendly city.
