Lots of character in a prime location

We stayed in this home with our 8 children, ranging in age from 16 to 2 year. The house was perfect for our stay. We appreciated labels around the home so that we could make sure and return things to their proper place during the stay and when we left. The home is located in a very nice location if you are interested in seeing the University of Utah. The local train system is one block away and very easy to access and the home itself is only a few blocks from Trolley Square as well. The home is very old with a lot of character and very well maintained. The hot tub right out the back door was very nice. We would definitely book this home again if we vacation to Salt Lake City again someday.

Beautiful Home

We loved the home especially our family from out of town. There was so much room to fit everyone. It looked exactly like the pictures and very clean. The only downfall was not being able to get in when checked in due to the system locking the code, we had trouble a couple of times on different days trying to get in. But overall was an Awesome experience. It’s an old home but Beautiful inside and we would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

We loved this vintage house & the great location!

The house was well stocked with items that you typically find in a home, including a very good hair dryer. The power went out and almost immediately the company called us about it. Unfortunately the thermostat wouldn't respond to a call for air conditioning after that, so it got very hot upstairs and the windows are nailed shut.

The parking was adequate although the driveway is very narrow, steep and uneven. It was great to keep one car in the garage. The keypad made it easy for each adult to access the home. The kids loved the alarm screen; they loved seeing who was approaching or ringing the doorbell.

The beds are super comfortable. The HVAC venting needs adjusting as very little cool air reached upstairs, while the downstairs was freezing. Some closets are HUGE. Kids had a great time playing hide-and-seek. There's no safe place to play outside, but that wasn't a problem as the house is so big and full of nooks and crannies. The kids went to the Gilgal Sculpture Garden 4 times since it's not even 3 blocks away. That is a great outdoor play space with a section to build your own rock stacks.

The rear of the house is very quiet at night; the front could use dual-pane windows and better window coverings. All of us woke up at dawn due to the sunshine pouring in through the mini-blinds. Finally we hung towels & blankets over the windows. Next time I will tape aluminum foil to the windows.

We rented two houses, and the kids liked this one the best!

The sofa in the living room is rock hard and terrible to sit on. The new mattress is comfy on the floor because the metal brackets cannot make the bed go flat.

There is ivy growing in through one of the windows on the west side. Ivy is a terrible thing to plant next to a house as it finds every crack and invades the house, so hopefully it will be removed.

The flowers surrounding the house are magnificent! It's a beautiful place inside and out.

Thank you for placing portable fans in the bedroom closets! It made the heat more bearable for the upstairs people.

The downstairs shower is fantastic and the kids loved the big bathtub upstairs. For a house build in 1889, this one has been modernized quite well! I'm sure everyone will love it, especially after the air con gets repaired and the vents are adjusted. All in all, we had a fabulous time here. There are no food supplies, games or cards, so be prepared to provide them for yourself. We would definitely stay in this house again

Older home, nice decor and well stocked kitchen.

Overall this was an OK place to stay. But the driveway entrance was weird and tricky to maneuver. Also, the bathrooms need to be updated. Shorten the huge shower curtain so we don't trip on it in the upstairs bathtub. The painting was nice colors but some TLC is needed. Thanks for the stay.

Cute old house, unexpected damages claim

There weren't a lot of listings available for downtown Salt Lake but we wanted somewhere to stay for our anniversary, not a hotel room, so I booked this. The house is nice, the exterior is old like most of the houses downtown, but it has personality and seems clean enough. We weren't in the house much other than sleeping and breakfast, but it did the job and wasn't too expensive.

Then I got a notice from the renter's insurance people claiming damage to plates, a chair, the wall, pillows, etc. We are very tidy people and there were only two of us grown adults, so I'm confident we didn't cause any damage. We sat in three chairs for probably a grand total of thirty minutes combined, and barely touched anything aside from the bathrooms and kitchen. We're kind of known for our minimal impact, and we try hard not to break stuff. Especially not pillows. I happen to like pillows, and I'm not really sure how you'd damage them other than to tear them, unless maybe we forgot to fluff them or something and leaving them folded is considered damaging.

Anyway, I'm probably going to avoid this renter in the future because I don't believe they are honest in their post-stay assessments, and I don't want to end up on the hook for something I most definitely didn't do.

Very charming home in great location!

This home is very unique and charming. You couldnt have a better more convenient location within walking distance to tracks and the U of U. We stay in this home every time we visit our kids.
