Property is nice but check out was a nightmare
This was our second stay at this property in as many years. Well, I should say this was our second stay from this property management company. We had stayed at the other lodge next door the year before. There was a mix up in which property we wished to stay. That said, I think we ended up staying in the property that is listed here but it was not the actual property we stay in the previous year. It was not a huge deal but just a mix up that really was not anyone's fault. Just a miscommunication. We did enjoy our stay. The place was in good condition and is a good location for where we like to be for our snowmobile trip. There was also a mix up with checkout. The site listing said check out was 11 am. To be fair to the property management, the property information book did say check out was 10 am, but I did not pay much attention to the time in the book because I knew the time on the site listing was 11 am. Any other day, this would have probably not been a problem except people started showing up at 10 am to install a new sink in the kitchen. Because of this and the time issue, it made checking out a bit more difficult. We did strip the beds as they ask in their check out list and had the linens in the designated area. I was told later via message that we did not strip all the beds; however, I am certain we did as we know this is expected of this property from staying with them the previous year. Due to the time check out issue, we also did not have time to wash the towels. We were charged an extra fee due to the towel and bed issue. I will say I did not really have a problem with fee since we did not get everything done. The only problem I really have is with washing the towels. I am not sure how you are supposed to check out of a place in the morning in a timely manner and be expected to wash the towels. I have stayed in many VRBO and Airbnb and this is the only place that required us to literally wash the towels. Many of these places do require you to strip the beds and have all the bed linens and towels ready to be washed in a designated area but never actually tell you to wash them. Frankly, if I was the next guest staying there, I would want the cleaning people to be the ones who washed the towels to be certain they were washed properly and under sanitary conditions. For the record, I did put the towels in the washer but could not find any detergent. When I asked the cleaning person about it, he just shut the lid and turned on the washer.
I have to say, this is the nicest house we have rented up in the area.
I can't wait to come back up in the summer and see it for all its beauty.
We will be staying there again for sure.
The big problem that could happen (and I'm sure it has) is if two cars or trucks with trailers meet head on the private drive into the place. Then
you have big trouble, because its only wide enough for one car, and you can't move over because of all the trees, and backing up will be impossible. So come on landlords, cut down some more trees and please widen the drive.
But, aside from that, Hands down, THE best place to stay.
So nice of you to take the time to write, Craig. Yes, it is a narrow, private road. I've forwarded your comments to the condo association President. He's got a pretty good working relationship with some of the owners along Knuth Lane. Maybe he can get it widened.
We are also checking into a place near the airport in Land O Lakes, that is a public parking place, overflow, for snow machine and boat trailers.
Once that is greased, I will put the information in the ad. Let me know your 2020 preferred dates and I'll put you down as a request. I can firm up the reservation in September or October.
Clean, modern and spacious place to stay in Northern Wisconsin!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially enjoyed the many water activities available.
Nice cabin & easy access to snowmobile trails
Stayed in the month of February for snowmobiling. Easy ride from cabin to snowmobile trails. We stayed at the Moose Lodge which has a short driveway with a steep slope. Not enough room for a large trailer (we have a 6 place enclosed) but there was parking for the trailer in the round about. We would return again. Looks like great potential during the summer as well. Right on the lake with nice views.
That was a very good and accurate description! Thank you. Couldn't have said it better myself. We updated the locks on all the lodges and put a spare key safe right by the door. Fail safe, right?!
Hope to have you come again!
