Why Donna chose Colonia San Antonio
Our family has been coming to San Miguel de Allende for years and decided to buy a home because we love the city's charm and the people. Our daughter loves going to the day school in Centro and learning Spanish with the other children. We have made many friends while visiting SMA and enjoy exploring the surrounding area and its rich culture.

Spacious, welcoming, well-appointed and comfortable home in gorgeous San Miguel de Allende
Our trip to San Miguel de Allende was wonderful, and the highlight was our home away from home, Casa Madonna! It is a spacious, well-appointed and comfortable home only 15-20 minutes easy walk to the restaurants, shops and other points of interest in the city center. All three levels of the home have outdoor spaces to enjoy beautiful weather and views of the San Miguel vistas.
There are many very positive comments about Casa Madonna set forth below -- we wholeheartedly agree with all these glowing reviews!
Great View & Convenience
Casa Madonna has one of the best views in San Miguel. It is on a natural ridge which overlooks the city. The house is designed to take advantage of the views from almost every room. The local bus stop is a half a block away and there is a little tienda on the corner where you can get milk and other supplies.
We have stayed here for the last 3 years and the staff and the owner have always been very responsive. There are 3 full bedrooms each with their own bathroom so it accommodates a number of people. It's a great place to relax and enjoy all the beauty of San Miguel.
Bill and Mary, I'm so glad that you were able to make it back to SMA and Casa Madonna. We always appreciate your visit because you are wonderful guests. Hope to see you in San Miguel de Allende soon.
The location was not what I expected. I didn't feel safe. The alarm didn't work, phones didn't work, rooms had water due to leaks from the rain and construction was too loud. The cook was the most amazing part. She was very accommodating. The owner only charged me for the days we stayed until I found another home.
It is difficult to comment to negative responses without coming off as defensive, yet if you do not respond you come off as not caring. I will try to respond with facts.
Our home is located in Colonial San Antonio. We have a map of the location on the website. It was your decision to choose the area; I'm sorry you didn't find it suitable.
There was an unusual amount of rainfall that caused many services to be out all around town. My home was no exception. We addressed the sporadic phone service immediately and it was fully restored as soon as humanly possible.
Due to the heavy rain, water did come through a window seal. Once you informed my staff, they made every effort to get it sealed and cleaned up.
Construction is a daily part of life in San Miguel. It is a Spanish Colonial City made of cobblestone streets and centuries-old buildings. They are repairing old and building new structures all the time. This is out of my control.
When you informed me you were moving to another location, I had no problem returning the rent for your unused stay. It wasn't possible for me to give you a refund, if I didn't even know you were leaving.
I do hope you enjoyed the remainder of your stay and that you will return to San Miguel de Allende.
Fantastic & Relaxing Casa Madonna
We spent most of Feb & Mar here & are signed up for next year. Tony (Prop Mgr) & Rosaria (maid) went out of their way to take care of us & assist us. Both are delightful and Tony speaks very good English. The home has fantastic views of the downtown & the mountains to the west. We enjoyed many sunsets on the 3rd floor terrace. The house is well laid out and the downstairs has a very open concept. All the rooms are bright & cheerful. It worked well for friends who visited because each of the 3 bedrooms has a private bathroom.
It's about a 20 mn walk to the main Jardin but taxi's are plentiful if needed & there is a local bus that stops on the corner. There is also a great little tienda for buying any last minute supplies from milk to toilet paper on the same corner. Donna, the owner, is very responsive and she has decorated and outfitted the house with everything you could want for a relaxing time.
There are several nice neighborhood restaurants, fruit & vegetable store, etc. San Miguel itself is a wonderful city with lots to do (or not) and great restaurants. We would highly recommend Casa Madonna.
Bill and Mary, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to having you return next year. Thank you for the nice comments. If there is anything we can to do to improve your stay next year, please let us know.
Super Casa Madonna
My family and I stayed in Casa Madonna this past March during the holly week, and I must say that the house is just perfect. It is big enough to have the family very comfortable and happy. The property it is in perfect conditions, all of them. It has everything you would have at home. The house is more beautiful than it seems, and the view, oh well, you'll enjoy the beauty of SMA from every window in the house.
I highly recommend this property, it is such a beautiful house to stay in SMA, also, the town it's just gorgeous, either you decide to visit for a getaway or for seightseeing, Casa Madonna is the perfect place to stay.
I am so glad you enjoyed our home. We hope you will return soon to Casa Madonna
Bravo Casa Madonna!
Last July was my second time to stay at the property. It is absolutely stunningly relaxing and beautiful in so many ways - sunset on the observation deck while sipping Tony's homemade margaritas is probably my favorite time of day there. You can see all the major points of interest in San Miguel, the churches, chapels, the different communities, you hear the bells and even the dogs of San Miguel occasionally. It is a perfect rental property if you do not have a car - taxis are in abundance and, for barely just a few dollars, you can ride into town within a few minutes. Upon entering the property, you feel very secure and you are in a tranquil place with water at the entrance as you cross a little bridge. Tony, runs the house and ensures that you have every comfort you need. The rooms are beautifully decorated - you literally just need to arrive with your clothes as everything else is provided. At the end of your stay, it is customary to tip Tony and the cook/chef. The town of San Miguel is magnificent - very old, pebbled streets, lots of quaint cafes, bars, hotels, art galleries, furniture, furnishings, and shops. The doors of San Miguel are very famous - you will find yourself taking pictures of these huge doors on haciendas, etc. Very tourist firendly town. I highly recommend this Casa and hope to return on an annual basis. Cheers!
Thank you for the kind remarks. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope that you return every year.
